Age is typically affiliated with the decline of cognitive function and the probability to be diagnosed with neurodegenerative disease, namely dementia. Of all dementia-related deficits, the paper highlights on the decline of wayfinding ability, since it is interrelated with mobility, autonomy, caregiving burden and eventually institutionalization. The sense of directions in elderly is also affected by the sensory changes, while the most obvious sensory declines are both vision and hearing. Hence navigation systems that support mainly on visual and auditory may not be the best option for them. A concept of wearable navigational assistance that is non-intrusive and uses haptic stimuli instead of visual and/or audio signals is presented in this paper. A Usability Test (UT) was performed towards the elderly with dementia at a selected nursing home to investigate how they perceive haptic-feedback as a modality of navigation. The assessments involved three phases: (1) orientation or training, (2) navigation test and (3) further navigation test. Results indicate the potential efficacy of haptic modality as a navigation signal. Improvement on subjects’ navigational performance was shown especially during the further navigation test, signifying the familiarization of the intervention. Employing the haptic modality could be a beneficial substitute for navigational purpose when vision and audio are less appropriate. Nevertheless, as much as the encouraging outcomes from the results and analysis of the assessments are valuable, the constructive reviews attained are indeed important for the future development of the device system.

Abstract: Awareness, Early Detection Capabilities, And Community Empowerment. This study aims to improve the ability of elderly people in the early detection of degenerative diseases in Posyandu Melati III Tegalrejo, Ceper, Klaten. While the specific purpose of this study was to describe the initial knowledge of early detection of degenerative diseases, describing the changes of knowledge and capacity for early detection of degenerative diseases post-counseling and training. This study used a quasi-experimental research design (queasy-experiment). The data source of this research is a group of elderly Posyandu Bed III Tegalrejo, Ceper, Klaten with the method of selecting a sample is total population. The tools used in this study was a questionnaire to evaluate the cognitive, psychomotor aspects SOP to evaluate and extension materials. Results showed that changes in knowledge and capacity for early detection of the elderly against degenerative diseases in Posyandu Melati III Tegalrejo, Ceper, Klaten. This is evident from the test results of paired t-test with a significance value of 0.000> 0.05. The provision of health education and training early detection of degenerative diseases can increase knowledge of the initial capital to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection capabilities against degenerative diseases so that the quality and degree of health of the elderly can be optimized.

To assess the efficacy, quality of life, and complication rate of cochlear implantation in patients over 60 years of age, we performed a retrospective chart review of 31 cochlear implant patients more than 60 years old at the time of surgery (mean, 70 years; range, 62 to 86 years). All patients had improvement in their audiological test results after operation. Twenty-eight patients (93%) are regular implant users at a median follow-up of 12 months. Major complications occurred in 2 patients (6%). We conclude that cochlear implantation in the elderly population has excellent results, with a complication rate similar to that in patients less than 60 years old, and yields an improved quality of life.

The mathematical formulation used in the photogrammetric block adjustment program SPACE-M has recently been extended to accommodate auxiliary airborne sensor data corresponding to the position and/or attitude of the aerial camera at the time of film exposure. Examples of such systems are statoscopes, laser profilometers, Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) and the Global Positioning System (GPS). The description of the use of these auxiliary data in SPACE-M is outlined and references are given to other related formulations. Test results with simulated and limited real data are presented with some analysis of the implications for topographical mapping and other applications.

Background: Regression of body balance function is one of the main risk factors in falls among the elderly. The aim of this article was to evaluate changes in static and dynamic body balance levels among people over 65 years under the influence of Nordic Walking training. Material/Methods: The research was conducted with participation of 21 people over 65 years old. The training lasted throughout a period of 6 months. Frequency of exercises was twice a week. Evaluation was conducted using 8-Foot Up-and-Go from the Senior Fitness Test and a single leg balance test from the EUROFIT test for adults. Results: A general tendency for body balance improvement was observed among the elderly under the influence of Nordic Walking training. The average test results for static body balance level were improved by 4.32%. In the case of dynamic body balance the increase was 5.68%. Conclusions: Loss of body balance is a problem affecting almost 14% of the population between 50-60 years of age. In the subsequent decade of life the risk of a fall increases to 22% on average, and among octogenarians the problem concerns over 33% of them. The research described below shows that using Nordic Walking training is advisable as a preventive measure against further diminishing of dynamic and static body balance among the elderly.

The result of statistical analysis obtained data on the average blood pressure inthe left group before being given the intervention of 173,76/96,41 while after being given the intervention of 170,29/93,82. On the singing group before being given intervention, the average of blood pressure of 153,06/87,41 and after being given intervention tobe 168/87. Camparative test results in both groups between before and after ihe invention were obtained p – value = 0,00 (p- value p < 0,05). Conclusion was spiritual emotional freedom techneque (SEFT) is more effective than singing to reduce the blood pressurenof the elderly with hypertension in social service home, Pucang Gading, Semarang. One of the body system disorders that is often experienced by the elderly. Namely the cardiovascular system such as hypertension. Hypertension of elderly can caused bad condition such as heartdiscase, stroke and kidney failure, there fore, intervention is needed to maintain blood pressure within normal himits.

Gout caused by hyperuricemia is a condition of high of uric acid in the blood. The condition of hyperuricemia in elderly is related to metabolic syndrome which is caused by slow rate of the body's metabolism. This activity aims to determine a prevalence of hyperuricemia in elderly at four Posbindu as a working area of ​​Kalibaru Health Center. Type of research is cross sectional with a simple random sampling method. The activity was carried out in August 2019. The method to measurement of uric acid levels by the strip method. The Descriptive test results showed a modus of the elderly is at the age of 65 years and the oldest at the age of 89 years. The percentage of elderly people who experience hyperuricemia based on WHO 2013 criteria as many as 8.8%  from a total of 68 elderly. The conclusion of this activity  indicates that 90% of elderly  in the working area of the Kalibaru Helath Center have normal of uric acid levels.
