Abstrak: Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang kepemimpinan kepala sekolah perempuan di SMP Kristen Palangka Raya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus. Prosedur pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan pola interaktif data. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan metode triangulasi dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas kepemimpinan dalam mewujudkan sekolah efektif bukan ditentukan oleh karakteristik gender. Kunci keberhasilan kepala sekolah perempuan dalam mewujudkan sekolah efektif ditentukan oleh kemampuannya dalam merancang dan merealisasikan visi dan misi serta tujuan sekolah serta kemampuanya dalam mengelola sekolah dengan efektif melalui pendayagunaan seluruh potensi yang dimiliki sekolah serta jalinan kerjasama yang sinergis dengan stakeholders sekolah. Abstract: In general, this study aims to describe the leadership of the female school principal at Palangka Raya Christian Middle School. This research is a qualitative research with a case study design. Data collection procedures using observation, in-depth interviews and study of documentation. Data analysis using interactive data patterns. Data validity was checked by triangulation and member check methods. The results showed that the effectiveness of leadership in realizing effective schools was not determined by gender characteristics. The key to the success of female school principals in realizing an effective school is determined by their ability to design and realize the vision and mission and goals of the school as well as their ability to manage schools effectively through the utilization of all the potential of the school as well as synergistic collaboration with school stakeholders. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis implementasi Total Quality Management (TQM) dalam sistem manajemen perencanaan kepala sekolah pada SMA Swasta Katolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumenter. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi reduksi data, penyajan data, menarik kesimpulan atau verifikasi data dan pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi data.  Temuan menunjukkan bahwa: 1.) Perencanaan program sekolah yang meliputi perumusan visi, misi, dan tujuan sekolah serta rencana kerja sekolah yang terdiri atas 12 program sudah dilaksanakan; 2.) Rencana kerja bidang pendidikan telah disusun sesuai tupoksi dan kewajiban tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan seperti tertera dalam dokumen pedoman sekolah dan struktur organisasi sekolah yang telah diprogramkan; 3.) Kepala sekolah telah melakukan pengawasan dan evaluasi terhadap seluruh proses kegiatan sesuai program kerja sekolah dan telah menyusun dokumen rencana pengembangan sekolah; dan 4.) Kepala sekolah bersama staf dan dewan guru telah membangun sistem informasi manajemen guna mendukung pengimplementasian budaya mutu dalam seluruh aspek baik fisik maupun nonfisik. AbstractThis research aims to analyze the Total Quality Management (TQM) Implementation in The Principal Planning Management System at Catholic Privat High School. This research uses a qualitative approach design. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews, and documentary studies. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data intercepting, concluding/verifications, and data validity checking using data triangulation techniques. The findings show that: 1.) School program planning includes the formulation of the school and school work plan's vision, mission, and goals consisting of 12 programs that have been implemented; 2.) The work plan for the education sector has been prepared in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of teaching staff and education staff, as stated in the school guidelines document and school organization structure that has been programmed; 3.) The school principal has supervised and evaluated all the activities of activities according to the school work program and has compiled a school development plan document; and 4.) The principal with the school staff and the teachers have developed an information management system to support the implementation of culture quality in all aspects, both physical and non-physical.

Abstract Objective New York City was the epicenter of the outbreak of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. As a large, quaternary care medical center, NYU Langone Medical Center was one of many New York medical centers that experienced an unprecedented influx of patients during this time. Clinical leadership effectively identified, oriented, and rapidly deployed a “COVID Army”, consisting of non-hospitalist physicians, to meet the needs of this patient influx. We share feedback from our providers on our processes and offer specific recommendations for systems experiencing a similar influx in the current and future pandemics. Methods In order to assess the experiences and perceived readiness of these physicians (n=183), we distributed a 32-item survey between March and June of 2020. Thematic analyses and response rates were examined in order to develop results. Results Responses highlighted varying experiences and attitudes of our front-line physicians during an emerging pandemic. Thematic analyses revealed a series of lessons learned, including the need to: (1) provide orientations, (2) clarify roles/ workflow, (3) balance team workload, (4) keep teams updated on evolving policies, (5) make team members feel valued, and (6) ensure they have necessary tools available. Conclusions Lessons from our deployment and assessment are scalable at other institutions.

Abstract Objective: Candida auris infections continue to occur across the United States and abroad, and healthcare facilities that care for vulnerable populations must improve their readiness to respond to this emerging organism. We aimed to identify and better understand challenges faced and lessons learned by those healthcare facilities who have experienced C. auris cases and outbreaks to better prepare those who have yet to experience or respond to this pathogen. Design: Semi-structured qualitative interviews. Setting: Health departments, long-term care facilities, acute-care hospitals, and healthcare organizations in New York, Illinois, and California. Participants: Infectious disease physicians and nurses, clinical and environmental services, hospital leadership, hospital epidemiology, infection preventionists, emergency management, and laboratory scientists who had experiences either preparing for or responding to C. auris cases or outbreaks. Methods: In total, 25 interviews were conducted with 84 participants. Interviews were coded using NVivo qualitative coding software by 2 separate researchers. Emergent themes were then iteratively discussed among the research team. Results: Key themes included surveillance and laboratory capacity, inter- and intrafacility communication, infection prevention and control, environmental cleaning and disinfection, clinical management of cases, and media concerns and stigma. Conclusions: Many of the operational challenges noted in this research are not unique to C. auris, and the ways in which we address future outbreaks should be informed by previous experiences and lessons learned, including the recent outbreaks of C. auris in the United States.

Abstract Efforts to include community voice in health policy and service planning are gaining recognition and support in the United States. Findings suggest community involvement can contribute to a better understanding of systems and factors that impact health, and, subsequently, more effective and sustainable policy and program design. Additionally, engagement can increase community buy-in, and community members can gain a greater awareness of services; increased confidence navigating systems; feelings of social connectedness; and capacity to advocate around issues through participation. Despite these findings, the extent to which community members are engaged in planning and decision-making varies considerably. Researchers from Georgia State University conducted a review of state plans on aging using the Person-Centered Outcomes Research Initiative (PCORI) Engagement Principles and the Health Research & Educational Trust’s Community and Patient Engagement Spectrum as frameworks to assess evidence of community engagement. The frameworks recognize engagement throughout the planning process, including design, data collection and interpretation, and dissemination. The review revealed that few planning processes described significant engagement, but rather met the minimal requirements established by federal policy. Federal guidance on community-informed planning practices is sparse, as are resources to support states in adopting these processes. To address this gap, the research team drew on the frameworks and other promising practices to design two community engagement projects, both in partnership with Georgia’s Division of Aging Services. Methods for participant engagement, data collection, interpretation and application of results, and lessons learned through both projects will be discussed, as well as potential implications.

AbstractThe initial phase of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in the United States saw rapidly-rising patient volumes along with shortages in personnel, equipment, and intensive care unit (ICU) beds across many New York City hospitals. As our hospital wards quickly filled with unstable, hypoxemic patients, our hospitalist group was forced to fundamentally rethink the way we triaged and managed cases of hypoxemic respiratory failure. Here, we describe the oxygenation protocol we developed and implemented in response to changing norms for acuity on inpatient wards. By reflecting on lessons learned, we re-evaluate the applicability of these oxygenation strategies in the evolving pandemic. We hope to impart to other providers the insights we gained with the challenges of management reasoning in COVID-19.
