Aiming at the problems of flare gas flow monitoring on offshore oil platform, a flare gas flow measurement system is designed. This system is integrated in the whole flare control system and reaches the effective monitoring of flare gas flow. Besides it adopts ultrasonic flow-meters for the more accurate flow-meter data and adopts hot-cap method for the realization of being installed without halting production. Results indicate that the design could offshore oil platform improve the efficiency and safety of production in offshore oil platform.

Mass flow meters (MFMs) are widely used to secure reliable flow rates based on the mass value of the gas being measured. However, chemical reactions produce various kinds of gases, and their composition also changes in real time. Thus, there may be a large deviation in the gas flow if the gases’ composition and its mixing ratio are not known. In this study, we derived a gas flow rate measurement method using a chemically stable chemical specie and verified the precision of the proposed method through comparative analysis with an MFM. The flow rate by this method showed reliable results in both single and mixed gases. Notably, the results were within ±2.74% of the injected flowrate values in the gas mixtures. This method is expected to be able to fundamentally overcome the limitations of the mechanical flowmeter because it is not affected by changes in gas composition or mixing ratio during the reaction.

In the article dealt the speed-flow meters, they are classified according to the working of the principle, discussed the advantages, disadvantages, a comparative review. The examination of all possible flow measurement methods, they can be sort into five major groups. The aim was to review the different approaches used to measure the voltage amplitude value of a signal and to describe the capabilities of a projected instrument system. The most modern technological processes take measurement of flowing gas flow rate and flow. For this purpose, ultrasound, especially pulsed time are widely stared to apply. The most pulsed temporal method for measuring disadvantage is that a signal amplitude can vary only in strictly defined limits. Othewise, the signals may not be given or taken in wrong moment.

This paper analyzes velocity profiles for flow through circular tubes in laminar, turbulent, and transition region flows and how they affect measurement by flow-meters. Experimental measurements of velocity profiles across the cross-section of straight circular tubes were made using laser doppler velocimetry. In addition, flow visualization was done using the hydrogen bubble technique. Velocity profiles in the laminar and the turbulent flow are quite predictable which allow the determination of meter factors for accurate flow measurement. However, the profiles can not be predicted at all in the transition region. Therefore, for the accuracy of the flowmeter, it must be ensured that the flow is completely in the laminar regime or completely in the turbulent regime. In the laminar flow a bend, even at a large distance, affects the meter factor. The paper also discusses some strategies to restructure the flow to avoid the transition region.
