The preparation of β-meso directly linked porphyrin–corrole hybrids was realized for the first time via an InCl3-catalyzed condensation reaction of 2-formyl-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrins with meso-substituted dipyrromethanes. Hybrid compounds have been characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 2D NMR, UV–vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy.

The investigation of a dichloromethane extract of flower heads of a Hungarian taxon of the Achillea millefolium group led to the isolation of three flavonoid aglycones, one triterpene, one germacranolide and five guaianolides. Their structures were elucidated by UV-VIS, EI- and CI-MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopic methods as well as by 2D-NMR studies and by selective 1D-NOE experiments. Besides apigenin, luteolin and centaureidin, β-sitosterol, 3β-hydroxy-11α,13-dihydro-costunolide, desacetylmatricarin, leucodin, achillin, 8α-angeloxy-leucodin and 8α-angeloxy-achillin were isolated. Both latter substances are reported here for the first time. Their NMR data were compared with those of the other guaianolides. The stereochemistry of 3β-hydroxy-11α,13-dihydro-costunolide was discussed and compared with data of the literature.

3-Oxo-s-triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine and various C-methyl derivatives (general structure 1) have been converted into the 2-β-D-ribofuranosyl species 2 and thence 4 via Friedel–Crafts catalyzed reaction with tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-ribofuranose, followed by deblocking. During the course of these reactions, rearrangements into the isomeric 3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-2-oxo-s-triazolo[1,5-a]-pyridines occur through ring-opening of the pyridine rings yielding species 3 and 5. The proportion of rearrangement products is dependent upon the position and number of the C-methyl substituents.Structural assignments for these compounds are based upon comparisons of spectroscopic properties (1H nmr, 13C nmr, uv) with model compounds from each isomeric series; structural assignments for these models are based on unequivocal mass-spectral fragmentation patterns. Unlike related triazolopyridine nucleosides with the ribose moiety attached to a pyridine nitrogen (Lynch and Sharma (1976)), there are no unusual aspects in the conformations of the nueleosides of types 4 and 5.

The detailed investigation of a methanolic extract of aerial parts of Achillea pannonica SCHEELE. within a chemotaxonomic study led to the isolation of 6 flavonoid glycosides. Besides rutin, apigenin-7-O-glucopyranoside, luteolin-7-O-glucopyranoside, apigenin-7-O-rutinoside and acacetin-7-O-rutinoside, an unusual flavondiglucoside was isolated. Its structure was established by UV, 1HNMR and 13C NMR spectroscopic methods including 2D-NMR techniques and ESI-MS as luteolin-7,4′-O-β-diglucoside. This substance is reported for the first time in the genus Achillea. Chemotaxonomic aspects are discussed briefly

A series of derivatives with various oxygen functionalities in positions 17,22a or 19,20 was prepared from diene I and olefin XVI by addition and oxidation reactions. The structure of the obtained compounds was confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR spectroscopy. The kind of intramolecular association of the 17α-hydroxy group was studied in connection with modification of the side chain and substitution in position 22a. Complete assignment of the hydrogen signals and most of the coupling constants was accomplished using a combination of 1D and 2D NMR techniques. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra are discussed.

<p>Nucleophilic substitution on hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCCTP) with allylamine in order to give hexa(allylamino)cyclotriphosphazene (HACTP)  is performed for the first time under mild conditions by using diethylether as solvent to replace benzene which is very toxic. The reaction time is reduced to half and also performed at room temperature but especially in the presence of an eco-catalyst called Maghnite-H<sup>+</sup>. This catalyst has a significant role in the industrial scale. In fact, the use of Maghnite is preferred for its many advantages: a very low purchase price compared to other catalysts, the easy removal of the reaction mixture. Then, Maghnite-H<sup>+</sup> is became an excellent catalyst for many chemical reactions. The structure of HACTP synthesized in the presence of Maghnite-H<sup>+</sup> to 5% by weight is confirmed by <sup>1</sup>H-NMR, <sup>13</sup>C-NMR, <sup>31</sup>P-NMR (Nuclear magnetic resonance) and FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy). MALDI-TOF (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionisation-time-of-flight mass spectrometry) is used to establish the molecular weight of HACTP which is 471 g/mol. DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetery) and TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis) show that HACTP is a crystalline product with a melting point of 88 °C. Studies on Conyza bonariensis (L.) Cronq. led to the isolation of two new glycosides trivially named as erigeside E and F (1–2), along with two new source compounds; benzyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (3) and 2-phenylethyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (4). Compounds 1, 3, and 4 are aromatic glycosides, while compound 2 is an alkyl glycoside. Their structures were elucidated through mass spectrometric, and 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopic techniques, including 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HMQC, HSQC and HMBC.

The present work describes an unfamiliar reaction of 5-(chloromethyl)-3-substituted-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles with KCN affording trisubstituted 1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-ylacetonitriles and their parent alkanes, namely, 1,2,3-trisubstituted-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-ylpropanes. To the best of our knowledge, the current synthetic route leading to decyanated products will be the first in terms of a decyanation process which allows the transformation of trisubstituted acetonitriles into alkanes by the incorporation of KCN with the association of in situ-formed HCN and most likely through the extrusion of cyanogen which could not be detected or isolated. In addition, the plausible mechanisms were proposed for both transformations. The structures of the title compounds were identified by means of IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 2D NMR spectra, TOF–MS and X-ray measurements.

Hydrophobic nindigo dyes were designed and successfully synthesized from indigo by reacting with substituted anilines in a simple route. Four nindigo dyes were fruitfully analyzed by 1H NMR 13C NMR, electronic and mass spectrometry. Here, we have firstly introduced these nindigo dyes into dyeing area for the dyeing of unmodified polypropylene fiber in aqueous medium. Dyeing experiments has been performed by using didodecyldimethylammonium bromide dispersing agent to make dye-dispersant complex for enhancing the dispersion of dyes. All the dyes were displayed profound blue color hue on polypropylene. The dyeing efficiency and dye fixation order of the nindigo dyes are 3d > 3c ≥ 3b > 3a. Compound 3d having higher the hydrophobic character (logP ═ 7.04), so greater the dye ability on the polypropylene fiber and exhibiting deep coloration.

From leaves and bulbs of Ornithogalum nutans L. (2 n = 28), seventeen cardenolides were isolated by column chromatography, DCCC and TLC. The structure elucidation was performed by means of 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HH-Cosy, HC-Cosy and FAB-MS studies and identification of the sugar moieties by GLC after acid hydrolysis of the cardenolides. Sugar compounds were identified as digitoxose, 3-acetyl-digitoxose, 2-deoxy-allose, 6-deoxy-allose, rhamnose, xylose and apiose. Glycosides of 7β,15β, 16 α-trihydroxy-uzarigenin, 8β,16 α-dihy-droxy, 15-oxo-uzarigenin, 3 β, 11β-dihydroxy, 12-oxo, 18-nor-5 α-card-13-enolid, 11 α-hydroxygitoxigenin, 12-oxo,8, 14β-epoxy-uzarigenin, 8β-hydroxy, 15-oxo-uzarigenin and 12β-hydroxy-oleandrigenin are described for the first time, the presence of oleandrigenin-glycosides in the genus Ornithogalum was not known until now. Ornithogalum nutans L. shows a different cardenolide pattern from the second European species of the section Myogalum (LINK) PETERM. - Ornithogalum boucheanum (KUNTH) ASCHERS.
