Analog filters constitute indispensible component of analog circuits and still playing an important part in interface with analog real world. realizing filters with odd order is preferred because of its time response . Therefore, this paper is conducted to introduce a new generalized Chebyshev – like approximation for analog filters. The analyses presented to realize the filters with odd order. This proposed novel approach offer good results in terms of flat delay and time domain response. Also, the achieved results are validated by comparison to normal Chebyshev filter via investigation several examples.

This paper presents different novel CMOS realizations for the differential difference operational floating amplifier (DDOFA). The DDOFA was first introduced in Ref. 1 and was used to realize different analog circuits like integrators, filters and variable gain amplifiers. New CMOS realizations for the DDOFA are introduced in this literature. Furthermore the DDOFA is modified to realize a fully differential current conveyor (FDCC). Novel CMOS realizations of the FDCC are presented. The FDCC is used to realize second-order band pass–low-pass filter. Performance comparisons between the different realizations of the DDOFA and FDCC are given in this literature. PSPICE simulations of the overall proposed circuits are given using 0.25 μm CMOS Technology from TMSC MOSIS model and dual supply voltages of ±1.5 V.

As the key junction between the ground and underground, hoisting systems as well as mines themselves are of vital importance to coalmine production. Laser ranging method is studied as a new solution of getting the real-time position directly. Furthermore, multi-scale phase based laser ranging principles are utilized in the system. The paper is aimed to conduct research into the problems existing in standard signal generating while using laser to locating the hoisting container, and to design standard sine generator circuits with DDS technology and DDS devices AD9850 to generate multiple frequency standard signals. In view of the serious noise disturbance in high frequency output, 4-order Chebyshev low-pass filter is designed, by using the integrated analog filters LT 6600-15, to filter the sine signals from AD9850 and to effectively weaken the noise disturbance. The established practical circuits are tested, obtaining trillion level high frequency and low frequency sine signals and fulfilling the requirements for the location system of hoisting containers.

A reconfigurable bandwidth antenna for an impulse radio-UWB (IR/UWB) system design is illustrated in this paper. By adopting a continuously tunable low-pass filter by varactor at the feed of the antenna, the proposed antenna obtains a continuous tunable bandwidth from 1.02 GHz to 2.42 GHz. To ensure the identifiability of transmitted pulses in (IR-UWB) system, the antenna is analyzed in both frequency domain and time domain. The proposed antenna is valid with a system fidelity factor (SFF) above 0.8 while the bandwidth is tuning. The compact size, low cost, and tunable bandwidth with the identifiability of the transmitted pulse makes it suitable for UWB impulse radars to improve the utility ratio of frequency, and dynamic adjustment avoids interference of the IR-UWB in other communication frequency bands.

Abstract Correct incipient identification of an analog circuit fault is conducive to the health of the analog circuit, yet very difficult. In this paper, a novel approach to analog circuit incipient fault identification is presented. Time responses are acquired by sampling outputs of the circuits under test, and then the responses are decomposed by the wavelet transform in order to generate energy features. Afterwards, lower-dimensional features are produced through the kernel entropy component analysis as samples for training and testing a one-against-one least squares support vector machine. Simulations of the incipient fault diagnosis for a Sallen-Key band-pass filter and a two-stage four-op-amp bi-quad low-pass filter demonstrate the diagnosing procedure of the proposed approach, and also reveal that the proposed approach has higher diagnosis accuracy than the referenced methods.

A high-accuracy demodulation algorithm is required to estimate angular position and angular velocity from resolver signals. In order to improve the estimation accuracy of conventional phase-locked loop (PLL) based demodulation method, a Chebyshev filter-based type III PLL method is proposed in this paper. The proposed method makes PLL become a system of type III tracking loop, which could greatly reduce the theoretical constant deviation in the estimation results of conventional type II PLL in case of variable speed. Meanwhile, the eigenvalues of type III PLL are placed to be the same position as those of a Chebyshev low-pass filter. In this way, demodulation parameters with stronger filter properties can be obtained to effectively suppress the high-frequency measurement noise in resolver signals. Thus, the proposed method can achieve higher demodulation precision compared with the conventional ones. Simulations and experiments are performed to validate the proposed demodulation method.

In many applications, degradation of bearing conditions is usually monitored by changes in time-domain features. However, in low speed (< 10 rpm) slewing bearing, these changes are not easily detected because of the low energy and low frequency of the vibration. To overcome this problem, a combined low pass filter (LPF) and adaptive line enhancer (ALE) signal pre-conditioning method is used. Time-domain features such as root mean square (RMS), skewness and kurtosis are extracted from the output signal of the combined LPF and ALE method. The extracted features show accurate information about the incipient of fault as compared to extracted features from the original vibration signal. This information then triggers the prognostic algorithm to predict the remaining lifetime of the bearing. The algorithm used to determine the trend of the non-stationary data is auto-regressive integrated moving average (ARIMA).
