Perception of content displayed on the screen of a computer display using computer vision is a challenging topic if the treated target is changed from physical world to digital world. Screen area from the given computer display image should be segmented and corrected primarily before perceiving the content displayed on the screen. An automatic approach is proposed to the segmentation and deformation correction of screen area for a computer display image. Due to some inherent characteristics existing on ordinary computer displays, the segmentation can be performed by contour tracing. After contouring the screen area, its four corner locations can be readily identified. By approximating the obtained corners to the closest normal screen region, the deformed screen image can be further restored with affine transformation. As a computer vision application on the "look at" screen image, the effectively segmented screen region can be fixed after a little time. The experiments demonstrate that about 70% cases can be fixed under 33 processed frames, others under 51 processed frames, and thus confirm the feasibility of the proposed approach.

Foot problems of female medical personnel: Subjective complaints and results of the podometric test The research was carried out in a multi-profile clinic where female medical workers included nurses, doctors and nurse assistants. The number of respondents included in the data analysis of this research was 102. A standardised questionnaire was used to obtain data on age group, position, body mass index, physical activities, ergonomic factors at work, performed objective foot examination methods, awareness of the ways of feet deformation correction. A computerised foot diagnostic system Pad Professional was used to objectively assess the feet condition. The podometric examination was carried out on 78 respondents. The data indicated a widespread foot problem spread among medical workers. Of 102 respondents only 10 (4.2%) had no complaints, and of 78 respondents who underwent the podometric test, none were diagnosed as having a totally healthy foot. The podometric examination showed that 65 (83.3%), which was the vast majority of respondents, had transverse arch flattening. Explicit transverse arch flattening was diagnosed in 8 (10.3%) and longitudinal arch flattening in 5 (6.4%) respondents.

Arguments about Soviet foreign policy usually include a lively debate about whether the Politburo is made up of Marxists or Machiavellians. The defenders of the Machiavellian interpretation of Soviet behaviour insist that the Communists are just “power politicians” carrying out the historic Russian program of expansion under a new guise. Until recently this view has been by far the most popular with American scholars and laymen. Few people here even now would take the position diat the Soviet Union's actions are a blind fulfillment of Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist theory. Some would, however, insist that an understanding of this theory will facilitate interpretation of Soviet behaviour. Indeed, some Soviet policies and actions make much more sense when placed within a Stalinist frame of reference than as “power politics.”

The article discusses the importance of different types of variability in blood pressure (BP) as an independent risk factor for stroke and myocardial infarction in patients with arterial hypertension. The results of the Russian observation program (1500 patients) on the impact of amlodipine show BP variability in real clinical practice. According to the results, amlodipine 5-10 mg after 2 weeks of treatment significantly reduces the variability of systolic and diastolic blood pressure in both sexes. His influence on the short-term variability in diastolic blood pressure is dose-dependent.

The article has been devoted to the analysis and substantiation of the possibility of using the regularities of behavior of society and its individuals during the solar cycle, discovered by A. L. Chizhevsky, in the planning and implementation of social management. It has been proposed to exclude the negative development of events in our country during the 25th solar cycle to use the potential of the protest activity of society for the creation and development of the country, deploying the all-Russian program “Creation of modern ecological industry of Russia”, which requires the mobilization of efforts of the whole country and can create up to 10 million jobs for the youth.
