Based on theoretical studies of the urban spatial morphology, this paper introduces advanced concepts and methods of BIM (Building Information Model) into the urban design in Nanhe City ,and then respectively makes innovations of the urban design practice supported by BIM technology in the process of design, optimization and implementation of the program, attempting to explore BIM-based design patterns of the urban spatial morphology to make the traditional urban design process more rational and scientific, to expect to reach the green and sustainable urban spatial morphology.

Despite the rapid growth in IoT research, a general principled software engineering approach for the systematic development of IoT systems and applications is still missing. Software engineering as a discipline provides the necessary platform to carry on the underlying design, coding, implementation, as well as maintenance of such systems. UML diagrams present a visually comprehensible outlay of the construction of IoT systems. The chapter covers the modelling of IoT systems using UML diagrams. Starting with the architectural design of any IoT system to behavioral aspects is covered in this chapter using a case study of IoT-based remote patient health monitoring system. The diagrams shown in this chapter are the sample diagrams for understanding IoT-based complex systems. The chapter focuses on the work carried out by Franco Zambonelli in context of developing abstract model of an IoT system using software engineering concepts. The chapter also focus on the pioneer work carried by J. F. Peters in intelligent system design patterns for robotic devices using pattern classification.

The paper discusses results of a case study on the advantages applying pure aspect design patterns in the development of aspect-oriented (AO) application frameworks. By an AO application framework we mean a framework which, alongside with traditional object-oriented (OO) framework customization mechanisms, provides also abstract aspects as hot spots. We have tested the hypothesis that pure AO design patterns should promote the ease of designing collaborating abstract aspects representing hot spots. To this end, we studied the process of reworking of the OO simulation application framework into the AO framework. During this study, appropriate qualitative and quantitative data have been collected. Software quality models link internal attributes of programs with external quality characteristics. They help in understanding relationships among internal attributes and between internal attributes and quality characteristics. Object-oriented software quality models usually use metrics on classes (such as number of methods) or on relationships between classes (for example coupling) to measure internal attributes of programs. However, the quality of object-oriented programs does not depend on classes solely: it depends on the organisation of classes also. We propose an approach to build quality models using patterns to consider program architectures. We justify the use of patterns to build quality models, describe the advantages and limitations of such an approach, and introduce a first case study in building and in applying a quality model using design patterns on the JHotDraw, JUnit, and Lexi programs. We conclude on the advantages of using patterns to build software quality models and on the difficulty of doing so.

AbstractBiophilic design elements are found around us in many landscape elements while we do not perceive them as biophilic design patterns. By developing our understanding of biophilic design as a phenomenon, we could discover simple ways to utilize landscape elements and transform them into a good biophilic design that might have positive impacts on a user’s health and well-being. Activating existing biophilic elements as an approach to a sustainable landscape has not been studied yet. Therefore, we rather analyse some international case studies in order to understand how biophilic design patterns can be implemented and see their different forms. Later, we will also go through an Egyptian biophilic design pattern case study and implement it to reach a sustainable landscape model. To summarize, the purpose of this study is to present a new sustainable landscape approach by activating biophilic design patterns in order to increase landscape efficiency.
