with continuous development of computer technology, online learning also becomes a new trend. MOOC-based distance education mode can meet students’ demand for superior teaching resources and offers help for students to carry out independent study and for teachers to change classroom teaching mode. This paper started from development status of MOOC and distance education to construct MOOC platform and design MOOC-based distance education mode. Then, control experiment was adopted to explore the application effect of such mode in Digital Illustration and analyze teaching effect differences of MOOC platform, and existing online learning platforms. The conclusion offers certain reference for further promoting MOOC-based distance education mode.

Palavras-chave: Colles, Educação a distância, Avaliação, Pós-graduação, PNAP.  Social Constructivist Evaluation of an Experience in Distance Education: the use of Colles as Data Collection InstrumentAbstract This study aims to evaluate the students expectations and experiences regarding the subject "The State and the contemporary problems", in Public Management post-graduation from the Federal University of São Francisco Valley (UNIVASF). For this, the application carried out the self-assessment questionnaire COLLES (Constructivist On-line Learning Environment Survey) checking for possible changes in perception and comparing the results before and after referring to the six dimensions: relevance, reflection, interaction, support tutors, peer support and understanding. The participants were 97 students in two different times at the beginning of classes, to meet the expectations of students and at the end of these, to have an understanding of experienced reality. The results showed that the students' experience overcame the negative assessment in all aspects presented, showing that some participants sentenced not have achieved the intended objectives. Keywords: COLLES, Distance education, Evaluation, Postgraduate studies, PNAP.

Nowadays, shoes are not just a casual footwear. Certain shoes can tell the social class of a person. The increase of shoe prices and social status of wearing expensive shoes became a trigger for the development of shoe laundry services. There were a service quality problems in a shoe laundry in Tangerang, Indonesia. Several methods to improve service quality was studied and it is decided to propose a new model, which is integration model of Service Blueprint, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). The research starts with identifying the problem with observation and interview, then build Service Blueprint. Based on the fail point that has been identified in Service Blueprint, the FMEA used to find which process is the most dominant cause of failure and the most urgent for improvement. The next step is using FTA to find the root cause of the failure of the dominant cause. After analyzing the FTA, the improvement was proposed and implemented. Service failure before and after implementation was compared to see the improvements. There are 6 suggestion and implemented. After the implementation, the error in each process was measured and it is found a decrease in error in each process.

With the rapid development of engineering and new demands of contemporary employers, post-secondary institutions have to adapt, improve and enhance engineering curricula to ensure that recent graduates possess appropriate levels of technical and professional skills and multilateral abilities for a successful start in industry. As industrial technologies, tools, and processes evolve, so must teaching methodologies and approaches, which significantly changes the structure of engineering courses. To ensure that students not only master technical knowledge but also develop their professional, interpersonal, cognitive and computer skills, engineering curricula have begun to shift from a classic instruction format to a blended learning format. Blended learning, the strategy of combining regular face-to-face instruction with online learning and/or other out-of-class-activities, is increasingly used in post-secondary education and disciplines and can take different forms depending on the course needs and desired learning outcomes. This paper reviews the recent implementation of blended learning in the form of gamification of a second-year introductory engineering design course using a commercial online learning platform. The reasoning, methodology, process and the results of student surveys before and after the online game are discussed along with suggested improvements.

Cloud computing is a brand new network concept after grid computing, which is the development trend of the next generation of internet. Cloud computing, as a network application mode of low costs and high performance, is gradually influencing people’s learning, work and life. Through the analysis of cloud computing and its key technology combined with the features of network learning, a network learning system model based on cloud computing is constructed, which could realize flexible expansion according to users’ requirements.

Application effect of magnetic gradients data continuation from undulate surface to plane has been analyzed by model test. The gradient data of before and after the processing was used for the analytic signal and the Euler deconvolution method calculation respectively, comparing the calculated results show that the maxima of analytic signal calculated by gradients anomaly on undulate surface deviate obviously from the center location of the prism magnetic source, and the position of prism boundaries are not clear. However, the analytic signal calculated by gradients anomaly after continuation from undulate surface to plane can be successfully used to estimate the center and boundaries position of prism. The solutions of Euler deconvolution method calculated by gradients anomaly on undulate surface are dispersive, the solutions calculated by gradients anomaly after continuation from undulate surface to plane are relatively clustering, and can outline clearly the positions of prism corners. The results demonstrate that continuation from undulate surface to plane processing of gradients anomaly can improve the application effect of analytic signal and Euler deconvolution technique.

AbstractCassava is an important food security crop in tropical regions of the world. Cassava improvement by breeding is limited by its delayed and poor production of flowers, such that cassava flowering under field conditions indirectly lengthens the breeding cycle. By studying genotype and environment interaction under two Nigerian field conditions (Ubiaja and Ibadan) and three controlled temperature conditions (22°C/18°C, 28/24°C and 34/30°C (day/night)), we found that while early flowering genotypes flowered at similar times and rates under all growing conditions (unfavorable and favorable field and controlled-temperature environments), late flowering genotypes were environmentally sensitive such that they were substantially delayed in unfavorable environments. Flowering times of late genotypes approached the flowering time of early flowering genotypes under relatively cool Ubiaja field conditions and in growth chambers at 22°C, whereas warmer temperatures elicited a delaying effect. Analysis of field and controlled temperature transcriptomes in leaves revealed that conditions that promote early flowering in cassava have low expression of the flowering repressor gene TEMPRANILLO 1 (TEM1), before and after flowering, among others. Field transcriptomes showed that the balance between flower promoting and inhibitory signaling, appeared to correlate with flowering time across the environments and genotypes.

The second article in a three-part series discusses how to deliver a distance education online course by i) assuring understanding of the learning platform, ii) developing a course model, iii) creating individual assignment rubrics for courses, iv) requiring active participation from both instructor and students, and v) setting-up quality communication. This paper is a continuation of the first paper whereby the history of distance learning, the positives and negatives of online learning, advantages and disadvantages of online learning, and the initial considerations for establishing online courses.
