The traditional teaching mode focuses on teachers’ instructions. However, this approach provides few opportunities for teacher–student interaction and single teaching form and lacks training on the independent learning ability of students. By contrast, massive open online course (MOOC) teaching mode completely depends on independent student learning and lacks effective monitoring. Thus, this approach results in low completion rate of courses and failure to completely replace the traditional classroom teaching model. This study constructed a teaching mode called small private online course (SPOC) by combining MOOC and traditional teaching modes to increase teaching effect. The specific application process of SPOC teaching mode was elaborated using a case study of “College English.” The study showed that SPOC teaching mode has more extensive teaching content, stronger learning interest of students, and better teacher–student interaction than the traditional teaching mode. Moreover, the SPOC teaching mode improved the independent learning ability of students, addressed the shortcomings of traditional classroom teaching, and facilitated the deep applications of information technology in classroom teaching. Thus, the present teaching mode is perfected.

The mobile network learning mode has been praised by many learners because of the convenience of using mobile phones. At the same time, it has posed great challenges to traditional teaching modes. To make full use of the mobile network learning mode and make up for the traditional classroom teaching mode, we investigated the convergence of these two modes. To this end, we analyzed the reasons for college students’ low network learning efficacy. Further, based on China’s current mobile network environment, national network policies, and the experience of constructing mobile network learning resources, we practiced mobile network learning in a course on Photoshop. The experiment showed that the mobile learning mode is feasible and that with the proper use of the mobile network environment, teachers can enrich teaching resources in class and raise students’ learning efficiency in classroom teaching. To achieve the desired effects of the mobile network learning mode, teachers should pay attention to three factors: the change of the teacher’s role in the teaching process, the acquisition of mobile network applications in the new learning mode, and the support of exterior service technologies. Applying this learning mode can provide valuable experience for the transformation of traditional teaching modes.

In the current social context, information technology and education teaching are deeply integrated, classroom teaching is gradually changing from “teacher-centred” to “student-centred”, and the traditional teaching mode is gradually changing to the online and offline hybrid teaching mode. In this paper, we analyse the limitations of traditional teaching methods and propose a hybrid online and offline teaching model based on the Principles of Management. This model combines online and offline teaching, changes the roles of teachers and students, promotes teaching with learning, and enhances interaction in the teaching process, creates an immersive classroom atmosphere, enhances students’ sense of access, realises the leap from Bloom’s first-order understanding to higher-order understanding through human-computer interaction, teacher-student interaction and student-student interaction, and cultivates students’ structured thinking, critical thinking and innovative thinking.

Abstract Backgrounds: The outbreak of coronavirus has had a serious impact on the economy, life and education of virtually all countries around the world. In China, the pandemic continues to pose a great challenge to the traditional in-person education model of schools. Educators in China are facing the agonizing decision of whether to resume in-person instruction while there’s still no effective cure for the new coronavirus. Therefore, in order to ensure the quality of teaching and learning during the period of special time, we explore the "online + offline" blended teaching mode. Methods: Four hundred medical undergraduates from Dalian Medical University in China took part in a simulated teaching model to improve their learning ability of innovation and exploration. Taking molecular biology experiment - cell apoptosis as an example, we experimented with the blending of "online + offline " teaching mode and evaluated the learning outcome under this mode from the perspectives of experiment operation, report writing and group cooperation. Results: Over 95% of them totally agree with this teaching mode and expect to have it applied to other subjects, while less than 10% of the students have the opinion that the traditional teaching mode is better. The result of the innovation project competition also shows that the students trained under this teaching mode perform better than those under the traditional teaching mode in both objective questions and answers and experimental operation. Conclusions: Adoption of this "online + offline" blended teaching mode is effective and provides a new perspective to solve the problems encountered by medical students when they reach a higher level of development. In the process of carrying out this teaching mode, the cultivation of students' independent learning and innovative exploration ability were emphasized. Furthermore, it also helps students to lay a solid foundation for their future study and career development.

With the rapid development of information technology, flipped classroom as a new type of mixed teaching mode relying on computer technology has changed the traditional teaching mode and formed a teaching process of “learning first and teaching later,” and it has been used in many fields of teaching. Flipped classroom reverses the sequence of traditional teaching knowledge transfer and knowledge internalization and improves students’ autonomy. However, it is still in the exploratory stage of the specific impact of the flipped classroom teaching model on college students’ English autonomous learning ability. Therefore, this article proposes a novel college English flipped classroom teaching model based on big data and deep neural networks. The study has selected a total of 230 students in two classes of the second-year English major of a university as the research objects. Data are utilized to investigate the changes of the two groups of students’ English autonomous learning ability and English academic performance, to explore the specific changes of college students’ English autonomous learning ability and its influencing factors through interviews, and to predict and effectively analyze the weight of influencing factors through the deep neural network. This research enriches the theoretical research results of college students’ English autonomous learning ability under the flipped classroom teaching model, provides reference for the cultivation of college students’ English autonomous learning ability, and has certain reference significance for the optimization of the flipped classroom teaching model. The proposed research will support researchers and practitioners at college and university level.

Abstract: In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of language teaching being more and more communication oriented. The traditional classroom teaching is facing a big challenge and is gradually being replaced by learner-centered approaches putting learner as individual into the core of learning process. This means learner autonomy gets to be enhanced to meet the need of the new teaching mode. While a great deal of researches have been done on the concept and development of learner autonomy , limited studies have investigated the ways and means of classroom practices of teachers in fostering learner autonomy in tertiary level EFL/ESL classrooms in Bangladesh. This paper examines what teachers think about learner autonomy as well as the strategies they use to develop learners autonomy in a university setting using a qualitative approach. The findings revealed that although university teachers are acquainted with what learner autonomy means, there are some challenges of developing learner autonomy in the classroom due to a number of lacking, such as teacher’s preparation, students’ reluctant attitude, suitability for different disciplined students and class timing.
