Due to the continued prevalence of e-learning underutilization in Indonesia’s higher education context, this study empirically examines individual and system characteristics believed to influence students’ acceptance of e-learning systems. The proposed research model is developed to examine the influence of five characteristics of the Technology Acceptance Model using the Structural Equation Modelling technique. This study found that both individual characteristics, computer self-efficacy and internet self-efficacy, play an important role, indirectly affecting perceived intention to use e-learning. The system characteristics including learning content and technology accessibility have been found to significantly influence learners’ acceptance behaviours. Both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness were found to be significant predictors of perceived intention to use. Additionally, perceived usefulness was found to have more predictive power than perceived ease of use on behavioural intention to use. This study contributes to a better understanding of how to enhance e-learning acceptance through improvement in individual and system characteristics.

The aim of this study is to investigate how interactivity with e-learning influence learners' consideration to use based on Malaysian settings and the effect relating to the learners' experiences in using e-learning over a period of time. This study uses a multiple regression for data analysis across a sample of 204 respondents. Based on the analysis, the interactivity factor such as two-way communication has significantly affected among perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), and perceived enjoyment (PE) while controllability and personalization affect towards PU and responsiveness on PEOU. Moreover, PE has directly affected the usage intention of e-learning system over time with increased usage experiences. The results could assist schools or universities enhancing the contents of e-learning system in order to encourage learners to strongly engage in utilizing the education materials that is provided, as well as improving the interactivity factors on the system.

E-commerce market in Indonesia has tremendous growth and predicted to become significant contributor to Foreign Direct Investment. Millennials, heavily affected by technology and internet, considered to be the driver growth of e-commerce. Applying the theory of modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this research analyzes whether perceived of ease of use and perceived usefulness mediate the impact of computer self-efficacy on the behavior of e-commerce users to use Lazada platform. The study was a quantitative study with online questionnaire. Data of 200 respondents were analyzed by Structural Equation Modelling and the result shows that computer self-efficacy indirectly affects behavioral intention to use through perceived ease of use. Perceived usefulness and attitude towards use are not significant mediators because of their insignificance on intention to use. Computer self-efficacy has significant impact on behavioral intention mediated by perceived ease of use, but not by perceived usefulness.

Purpose Several countries have been using internet of things (IoT) devices in the healthcare sector to combat COVID-19. Therefore, this study aims to examine the doctors’ intentions to use IoT healthcare devices in Iraq during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach This study proposed a model based on the integration of the innovation diffusion theory (IDT). This included compatibility, trialability and image and a set of exogenous factors such as computer self-efficacy, privacy and cost into the technology acceptance model comprising perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and behavioral intention to use. Findings The findings revealed that compatibility and image of the IDT factors, have a significant impact on the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and behavioral intention, but trialability has a significant impact on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and insignificant impact on behavioral intention. Additionally, external factors such as privacy and cost significantly impacted doctors’ behavioral intention to use. Moreover, doctors’ computer self-efficacy significantly influenced the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and behavioral intention to use. Furthermore, perceived ease of use has a significant impact on perceived usefulness and attitude, perceived usefulness has a significant impact on attitude, which, in turn, significantly impacting doctors' behavior toward an intention to use. Research limitations/implications The limitations of the present study are the retractions of the number of participants and the lack of qualitative methods. Originality/value The finding of this study could benefit researchers, doctors and policymakers in the adaption of IoT technologies in the health sectors, especially in developing counties.
