The paper is a case study which gives a summary of the experience in disseminating information through an institutional repository at the Automotive Research Association of India, Pune. The paper has proven to cover different aspects of Knowledge Management (KM) and discusses more about Institutional Repository in Knowledge Management perspective. In this paper, we emphasize the need for deploying and share our experience in creating a state-of-art Institutional Repository using the DSpace software. The method of developing the IR, which includes, the installation, defining the communities and collections, content development and management are illustrated. The paper also illustrates the library services and mode of information dissemination to its users by engaging with knowledge management. It also discusses the proposed initiative of incorporating the library database from LibSys and linking the e-Modules from Learning Management System (LMS) to the institutional repository for the benefit of user community at ARAI.

Most methodologies developed to support the Product-Service System (PSS) design consider the integration of service features into the product design from a high-level of abstraction and are usually focused on the conceptual phase, neglecting the detailed level of design. Besides, the Knowledge Management perspective is not considered in those methodologies, also affecting how new design knowledge is created, formalized, and shared across the company’s organization. The PSS Design GuRu Methodology, grounded on Concurrent Engineering and Design for X approaches, was developed to fill these issues. This study presents how the PSS Design GuRu Methodology can be incorporated into a PSS detailed design process in a B2B company operating in the food and bakery machinery sector, focusing the analysis on its contribution to promoting Knowledge Management. In particular, a detailed case of development and integration of a service feature—the installation service—to a product in the PSS scope is conducted. The PSS Design GuRu Methodology proves to be effective in supporting the generation, management, use, sharing, and reuse of new knowledge in the shape of design guidelines and rules.

AbstractIn a previous article for LIM, Raj Kumar Bhardwaj wrote about online legal information services and their uses at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.1 This new article looks at Institutional Repositories (IRs) which in the academic world, help to re-define the production, dissemination and the use of the intellectual output from an institution. A project to develop an IR offers numerous opportunities to become engaged with information and scholarly material beyond the nature of traditional library services. In this paper, Raj Kumar Bhardwaj and Shikha Kaushik jointly discuss some of the issues, experiences and theories around the institutional repository that has been developed at St Stephen's College.

The purpose of this study is to develop a web-based Research Assistant System (RAS), a Knowledge Management System by community of practice, to improve the group performance of Research Assistants (RAs). Knowledge management is concerned with effective and efficient access to internal and external knowledge that enable an organization to be informed of its environment. The methodology of this study consists of system analysis/design. This study focuses on the implementation of such a system, a system based on free software-PhpBB that allows people to add special features to meet RAS's requirements. The testing phase in this study was also obtained from RAs' feedbacks. Two contributions of RAS are: (a). With shared memory, the RAS exposes to an interest in how research performance being not merely a function of an individual's achievement, but in a way that tasks and problems are being shared; the organization memory implies an emphasis on how individual insights are combined in a group, and how the structure and dynamics of such group thought processes; (b). The RAS plays as an organizational learning support system that individual problem solving is inspired by how groups of experts can come together and solve problems in a way that the individuals could not do on their own. Finally, the implications of RAS in terms of Knowledge Management are also discussed.

In this digital era, QR Code is becoming one of the most popular tools and it great help to website towards strengthening the relationship and promoting enhanced to existing library website. Q R Code is a state of art AIDC technology that is gaining popularity with Library fraternity in India. It is one such technology which can offer to the user demand of providing access to e-resources through mobile. These advanced technologies offer access very convenient, instantaneous information, across boundaries of subject and particular area. Don Bosco College Central Library is set an example in experimenting with adopting new technology developments; where it is computerization and automation or adopting other ICT to improve facilities their services. The rapid developments in ICT have given a solid foundation for revolutionary changes in the information handling capabilities of information dissemination. Don Bosco College Central Library may well reach out to the remote users who were considered unlikely to connect because of absence of a medium. Users are becoming increasingly web savvy reliant on advance technologies for sharing, accessing and determining their information. Keeping in mind, researcher integrated AIDC in Mobile via QR Code Technology in Don Bosco College Central Library Website for enhancing library services.
