The phase pertaining to post test execution comprises not only multifaceted activities but is also a tedious task. It is not uncommon to find many testers who normally underestimate the complexity involved in this phase and face an uphill task later, while fine tuning the system for optimum performance. This chapter discusses points arising in the post execution phase by considering: • Specific test execution scenarios through logs; • Method/strategy for analysis; • Results with standard benchmarks; • Areas for improvement.

SummaryStudy aim: To assess the impact of an ordinary training week cycle lasting 6 months on the anaerobic endurance of dance sport athletes.Material and methods: Two couples of standard style and six couples of ten dance style, aged 14–26 years, of diverse competitive categories (E, D, B, A, S), were subjected to maximum runs 8 × 50 m spaced by 15-s intermissions, before and after half-year training. Running time of every run and post-run heart rate (HR) were measured. The results were expressed as running velocities (m/s) and R-R intervals for heart rates.Results: Velocities were significantly higher in the post-test (5.21 ± 0.21 m/s and 5.57 ± 0.34 m/s for women and men, respectively) than in the pre-test (5.13 ± 0.13 m/s and 5.39 ± 0.24 m/s, for women and men, respectively) (F1,14 = 14.70, p = 0.0018, η2 = 0.51) despite the fact that a significant decrease of speed in each successive run was noted (F7,98 = 82.19, p < 0.001, η2 = 0.85) for all of the participants in the pre-test and post-test.Conclusions: The half-year training cycle of dance sport couples had no significant impact on their anaerobic endurance. It seems that individual training plans should include dancing interval exercises and interval training. The performance index is a useful tool in monitoring the training process and can be used as an accurate method for evaluating the anaerobic predispositions of athletes. It is recommended to develop specific, test-suitable dancing exercises.

Abstract Objective Digitalization is offering several chances to improve performance and reliability of Underground Gas Storage (UGS) infrastructures, especially in those sites where ageing would require investment improvement for maintenance and monitoring. In that context, well integrity management can benefit from the implementation of a well digital twin, integrated with real time monitoring. The work proposes a digital model of the well that can provide a valuable tool to analyse its non stationary states in order to evaluate the integrity of the barriers and its health state. Methods, Procedures, Process The key points on well integrity management are barriers testing/qualification and annular pressure monitoring, and in UGS operations it’s crucial the selection of the timing of barrier assessment and of diagnostic test execution to correctly evaluates the results. The digital model can provide a tool to help the well engineer to understand the health state of the well and to plan maintenance activities. It considers a physical model of the well composed by gas and liquid filled chambers in the annuluses and in the tubing case and all the potential leak paths that could connect the annuluses, the tubing case, and the reservoir to the external environment. Each chamber is modelled considering its mass and energy balance, while fluid resistances describe fluid leakage across the barriers. Appropriate models, selected according to the geometry and type of each well barrier, describe each fluid resistance. The input parameters are the well architecture, flowing tubing temperature and pressure and gas flow rate. The model provides pressure and temperatures trends and estimates of leak rates trends or annular liquid level movements during the observation time window. The fine tuning of the model of each well is carried out by seeking for the values of the parameters that best describe each single leak path, such as size and position of the leaking point, with a genetic algorithm. Results, Observations, Conclusions The model has been customised and validated over several wells, some of which with perfect integrity status and others with some integrity issues. Results showed a very good fit with field data, as well as high precision in identifying leak position and size. The tool can also be applied to forecast well behaviour after the application of mitigating action or to simulate the evolution of the leak. Example applications are the evaluation of the correct time to top up a casing with liquid or nitrogen or the effect on annular pressure of limiting withdrawal or injection flow rate.

The focus of this chapter is toward the factors needing attention while conducting the tests of performance. Chapters 5 and 6 discuss in detail the test plan as well as the test scripts required for conducting the performance tests. The successful execution of PT calls for coordination of a complex set of activities such as management of personnel, scheduling the tests at an appropriate time, configuring tools for various performance parameters, verification of application readiness for the test, and, above all, management of multiple test runs versus cost of resources. Conducting the tests may spread over a number of days, and it may also warrant customization of the operating system. The team responsible for carrying out the tests must be well aware of these factors. Typical test execution (see Test execution, 2004) phases are shown in Figure 7.1. Each phase must be planned carefully. If these phases are followed in sequence, the probability of test execution errors could be reduced. The main reason behind introducing these phases is to reduce the cost. To illustrate, if we directly run tests without passing through initial phases like elaboration test (say) and an error creeps in later, it will result in unnecessary investment of effort on test runs, which is very expensive. Specialized skills are required to run tests. Sometimes, the test environment (including tools) has to be taken on hire during the test runs. All these involve effort and time, which will go to waste if the tests are not executed properly. Each phase is explained in Figure 7.1.

To better understand the process of neuroplasticity, this study assesses brain changes observed by voxel-based morphometry (VBM) in response to two different learning conditions. Twenty-two young, healthy subjects learned slacklining, a complex balancing task, with either their eyes open (EO, n = 11) or their eyes closed (EC, n = 11). The learning took place three times per week for four weeks, with learning periods of 1 hour, providing a total of 12 hours of learning. The scanning and testing protocols were applied at three time-points: (1) immediately before learning (baseline), (2) immediately afterwards (post-test), and (3) two months afterwards (follow-up). The EO group performed better on the task-specific test. Significant group*time interaction effects were found in sensory-motor areas at the post-test, with increases in the EO group only. The results suggest that VBM-observed brain changes in response to learning a complex balancing task vary depending on the learning success and the availability of visual input, and not solely on the amount of time spent on learning. These findings should be taken into account by future studies using similar methodologies.

Data acquisition and reduction system plays important roles in a wind tunnel test and determine the validity of aerodynamic characteristics information of the test object in Indonesian Low Speed Tunnel. Although it has been modernized recently, the main software components of the system are still requiring supporting counterparts to optimize the efficiency and the effectivity of the test execution. Several supporting softwares have been engineered so far and further developments are still in progress as attempts to fulfill those needs. Coordinating both main and supporting softwares in a well manner should be considered to realize fully integrated system which functions from the pre-test to the post-test phases as well as to anticipate various possible needs in the future. Numerous phenomenological descriptions of the mechanical behavior of composite materials have been developed. There is now an urgent need to study and interpret deformation behavior, load transfer, and strain distribution, in terms of micromechanisms at the atomic level. One approach is to characterize dislocation substructure resulting from specific test conditions by the various techniques of transmission electron microscopy. The present paper describes a technique for the preparation of electron transparent composites of aluminum-stainless steel, such that examination of the matrix-fiber (wire), or interfacial region is possible. Dislocation substructures are currently under examination following tensile, compressive, and creep loading. The technique complements and extends the one other study in this area by Hancock.The composite examined was hot-pressed (argon atmosphere) 99.99% aluminum reinforced with 15% volume fraction stainless steel wire (0.006″ dia.).Foils were prepared so that the stainless steel wires run longitudinally in the plane of the specimen i.e. the electron beam is perpendicular to the axes of the wires. The initial step involves cutting slices ∼0.040″ in thickness on a diamond slitting wheel.

The food safety security (FSS) concept is perceived as an early warning system for minimizing food safety (FS) breaches, and it functions in conjunction with existing FS measures. Essentially, the function of FS and FSS measures can be visualized in two parts: (i) the FS preventive measures as actions taken at the stem level, and (ii) the FSS interventions as actions taken at the root level, to enhance the impact of the implemented safety steps. In practice, along with FS, FSS also draws its support from (i) legislative directives and regulatory measures for enforcing verifiable, timely, and effective compliance; (ii) measurement systems in place for sustained quality assurance; and (iii) shared responsibility to ensure cohesion among all the stakeholders namely, policy makers, regulators, food producers, processors and distributors, and consumers. However, the functional framework of FSS differs from that of FS by way of: (i) retooling the vulnerable segments of the preventive features of existing FS measures; (ii) fine-tuning response systems to efficiently preempt the FS breaches; (iii) building a long-term nutrient and toxicant surveillance network based on validated measurement systems functioning in real time; (iv) focusing on crisp, clear, and correct communication that resonates among all the stakeholders; and (v) developing inter-disciplinary human resources to meet ever-increasing FS challenges. Important determinants of FSS include: (i) strengthening international dialogue for refining regulatory reforms and addressing emerging risks; (ii) developing innovative and strategic action points for intervention {in addition to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) procedures]; and (iii) introducing additional science-based tools such as metrology-based measurement systems.

Zusammenfassung. Ziel war es, die Effektivität zweier Interventionen zur Förderung der Lesekompetenz von Fünftklässlern zu untersuchen. Beide Treatments wurden von Regellehrkräften implementiert. Die eine Intervention war das reziproke Lehren, welches um Selbstregulationsprozeduren angereichert wurde (RT+SRL). Die zweite war eine von Lehrkräften konzipierte lesestrategiebasierte Unterrichtseinheit (Good Practice, GP). Zusätzlich gab es eine No-Treatment-Kontrollgruppe (KG0). Insgesamt nahmen an der Studie N = 244 Schüler teil. Im Rahmen eines Pre-, Post-, Follow-Up-Test-Untersuchungsplans kamen standardisierte Leseverständnisaufgaben, selbstkonstruierte Lesestrategieaufgaben und eine Selbstwirksamkeitsskala zum Einsatz. Kontrastierende Einzelvergleichsanalysen ergaben, dass sich die Schüler der Treatmentbedingung RT+SRL im Vergleich zu den Schülern der Kontrollgruppe zum Post-Test signifikant stärker im Leseverständnis, in der Lesestrategieanwendung und in der Selbstwirksamkeit verbesserten. Gleiches galt für die Lesestrategieanwendung zum Follow-Up-Test. Schüler der Bedingung GP konnten im Vergleich zu KG0-Schülern weder zum Post- noch zum Follow-Up-Test vorteilige Ergebnisse in den drei Kriteriumsmaßen erzielen.

Zusammenfassung. Das Ziel vorliegender Studie bestand in einer Überprüfung der Akzeptanz und Teilnehmerzufriedenheit eines Gruppentrainings für Eltern von Kindern mit Lese- und/oder Rechtschreibschwierigkeiten. Zudem sollten erste Indikatoren bezüglich der Wirksamkeit des Programmes untersucht werden. Dazu wurden Daten von 25 Müttern zu 2 Messzeitpunkten (Post-Test, 3-Monats-Follow-up) analysiert. Die Probandinnen nahmen über einen Zeitraum von 3 Monaten an 5 Sitzungen des Programms «Mein Kind mit Lese- und Rechtschreibschwierigkeiten verstehen, stärken und unterstützen: Heidelberger Elterntraining zum Umgang mit LRS» teil. Ein Paper-Pencil-Fragebogen diente zum Post-Test der Erhebung von Teilnahmeparametern, der Zufriedenheit mit dem Training, der Relevanz einzelner Themen und der wahrgenommenen Veränderungen in wichtigen Zielbereichen. Zusätzlich kam eine für das Gruppensetting adaptierte Form des Goal Attainment Scaling zum Einsatz, um das Erreichen persönlich relevanter Ziele unmittelbar nach dem Training sowie 3 Monate später zu erfassen. Die Analyse des Fragebogens zeigte eine hohe Partizipationsbereitschaft der Mütter. Die Rahmenbedingungen des Trainings (Gruppengröße, Dauer des Trainings und der Sitzungen) sowie die didaktischen Methoden wurden als ideal und die Themen als relevant eingeschätzt. Die Mütter sahen sich in der Lage, die Inhalte im Alltag anzuwenden und nahmen positive Veränderungen hinsichtlich Einfühlungsvermögen, Unterstützung des Kindes, Hausaufgabensituation und Beziehung zum Kind wahr. Das Ausmaß des Erreichens individueller Ziele zum Post-Test variierte je nach Zielbereich: Einfühlen und Verstehen (75 %), Optimierung der Hausaufgabensituation (76 %), Unterstützung psychosozialer Entwicklung (86 %), Lese-Rechtschreibförderung (60 %) und war auch 3 Monate später noch vergleichbar hoch. Die Überprüfung der Wirksamkeit hinsichtlich einer Belastungsreduktion und Kompetenzstärkung seitens der Eltern erfolgt aktuell im Vergleich zu einer unbehandelten Kontrollgruppe.
