As the world enters the age of digitalization, it is demanded by time that the education curriculum be updated to the latest version. However, in the contemporary research literature, many different notable researchers and authors have established that there is a disparity which exists in the education curriculum and the educational practices especially in the business sector. This disparity is characterized by gaps in technology and knowledge which must be bridged for the business sector to reap the fruits of a global education in the contemporary timeframe. In this connection, the role of the teachers and the educators is of critical importance primarily due to the fact that they are assigned the heavy responsibility of interacting with students.

The case for Competitive Intelligence (CI) as an instrument that can enhance the competitiveness of South African companies and South Africa as a country is strong. Various global competitive rankings measurements have indicated over a number of years the areas in which competitiveness is lacking. Moreover, these rankings have indicated that South Africa has failed to improve its position year on year. The fact that the world is becoming increasingly competitive for South African entities is undisputed. Coupled with a fluctuating exchange rate and the country’s geographical proximity, this poses unique challenges facing South African managers who have to deal with various regulations and legislative matters. In order to create and sustain an effective knowledge economy and to enhance global competitiveness, South Africa however has to put appropriate strategies/measures in place to stimulate, encourage and grow knowledge practices. Competitive Intelligence (CI) as a means of making more sense of the competitive business environment and to identify opportunities and risks in time to act upon can be effectively used as a means to enhance competitiveness. Valuable lessons from successful CI practices in the business sector and government can be learnt from elsewhere in the world. CI should be investigated and adapted for South Africa’s business environment. It is therefore the aim of this article to first attempt to describe the role of CI in enhancing competitiveness, specifically in South Africa and secondly, to stimulate thought on how to secure momentum in enhancing CI as an academic field by developing relevant CI courses as well as demonstrating the value of CI to companies in South Africa through research and collaboration between academics and the private and public sectors.

Since the evolution of mankind, the need for food and drink has been a major concern for humans. It has been reported from the ancient records that human had to cultivate and the store food for consumption but as time passed humans started to travel from one place to another in search of food and drink which further in the modern era gave rise to the tourism sector where people travel for one place to another to explore new culture and experience the local cuisine which depicts about the place and its community living around the region. Due to this, there was a tremendous increase in the percentage of tourists every year in different continents where they only travel for leisure and availing the local cuisine that included both food and the local beverage of the location. Therefore, the essence of food is also a vital part of the lifestyle for every individual and tourists who travel to the destination and try to experience the local cuisine. If you see the world, most of the tourists are eagerly mad at traveling to India, wherein every 100 meters you will get a varied cuisine influence which fascinates the international tourists towards the country's culinary inheritance. Therefore, the role of promotion and marketing of the regional cuisine of a country as it showcases the cultural identity of the nation's heritage. Henceforth, the paper explores the framework of the tasting tourism as to create a new phase of tourism after the Covid-19 in order to increase the tourism sector by introducing a new segment where the cuisine will showcase the opportunity for providing an extensive knowledge for the regional cuisine and beverages available, where they can experience during their travel to the region. But due to the pandemic situation, it has been seen that the Indian tourism sector had a drastic change as the inflow of foreign tourists decreased, and also the food business sector is facing downfall due to the rapid spread of the virus.  Key words: Gastronomy; Tasting Tourism; Indian cuisine; Marketing; Promotion; Tourists.

Recognizing and celebrating the diversity that exists in our communities has become a central goal of land-grant institutions and cooperative extension programs. This is coupled with the expectation that youth be equipped for a global workforce where they appreciate different world cultures, be able to evaluate global issues and challenges and understand the inter-connectedness of global systems. Given these points, a Global Education Curriculum developed by the WVU Extension Global Education & Engagement Team is presented as a tool to instill a deeper understanding of and appreciation for cultures, people and global issues by youth and the adults who support them.

Global competition that demands the development of society in the world, has an impact on the education which becomes the foundation of the nation's scientific. Globally, all nations are vying to improve progress in all areas of technology, economics, and education. Unavailability jobs for the nation's intellectuals, the low economic community, and the competitiveness of the nation, became an internal challenge of Indonesia to be able to fix and strengthen the nation building. Education entrepreneurship comes as an alternative education to answer the challenges of global education. The existence of entrepreneurship education curriculum at every level of education, government and community support, and actualization of entrepreneruship education in universities, become the carrying capacity expected to realize the nation's progress in this global era.

The sudden outbreak of covid-19 pandemic was indeed a phenomenal disaster that crippled the productive sectors and economic activities of nations. The incremental and consequential economic effects placed the global economy on a depressed position, as the world is presently witnessing the greatest economic recession and depression as never experienced in the economic history of the world. The overall aftermath was high business mortality rate, increasing rate of unemployment, reduction in, and irregular payment of workers salaries, high retrenchment of workers, increase in poverty lines leading to organized crimes, and sundry. However, the main thrust of this academic discourse was to examine the role of Business Education (BE) in repositioning the ailing global economy caused by covid-19, via review of related research literature. BE as an academic programme is strategically positioned to inculcate the economic orientation, survival and functional skills necessary in raising the relevant manpower that will in turn serve as key drivers in the repositioning of global economy. In lieu of the above, this study explicates on conceptual clarifications, BE as economic survival strategy, and in global economic repositioning in covid-19 era, issues in BE were also illuminated upon and a few recommendations made.

The impact of the world COVID crisis on small businesses was extremely destructive. Governments of different countries being aware of critical importance of small business sector to national economies and societies as a whole undertook measures aimed at SME support. While the devastating effect of COVID on small business is quite comparable across the world, the scale and efficiency of government protective measures differ a lot in various countries. In this paper we made an attempt of comparative analysis of governmental efforts to protect small business economies on the example of SMEs in three countries: the U.S., China, and Russia.

This article discusses the role of the British control of India in the rise of Britain and Europe as well as in the convergence in incomes within the Atlantic economy in the late nineteenth century. Britain was at the apex of the world economy throughout most of the nineteenth century. The article argues that the emergence of Britain as the apex economic and political power depended on her control over India. This control of India then enabled Britain to pursue a set of policies that were of critical importance, both for the convergence in incomes within the Atlantic economy and the rise of Europe. The thesis advanced here can be viewed, depending on one’s prior position, as being either complementary to or alternative to the views of many of the protagonists of the divergence debate in the literature. Feminism(s) as practice(s) in the world of the women's movements have frequently either rejected science and scientific approaches or utilised scientific evidence in support of arguments, positions and campaigns. This has happened with some degree of contradiction. Problems of how feminist theory deals with questions about the nature and role of science and scientific techniques and information still remain. The debates that are taking place are complex, and have rarely been utilised or applied in the situation of how higher education might utilise them. This paper attempts to examine current philosophical and feminist ideas about the nature of science, to assess if it is possible to theorise about the possibility of a feminist science. Equally problematic is the application of these ideas to the context of higher education, and providing more women or feminist orientated educational practice. This paper draws links between theory about science, and issues in relation to the higher education curriculum. It argues the case that although this theorising may appear difficult to apply, there are several ways by which it may be used to guide thinking about how education courses may be structured in order to allow students to learn in ways that may not be as limited as previously. These debates are new, ongoing, and yet not fully explored and so this paper provides a position from where this might be explored, and therefore demonstrates some areas for further exploration.

Halal becomes the lifestyle of Muslim consumers in the world. As the Muslim population increasing, the awareness on consuming halal food also improving. This paper aims to examine the influence of religiosity, halal awareness, halal certification, and food ingredients on purchase intention of halal food among Indonesian Muslim consumers. Convenience sampling was used as the sampling method of this study. This research consisted of 205 respondents. The data are collected by questionnaire which are analyzed by multiple linear regression. The results of this study revealed that religiosity, halal awareness, halal certification and food ingredients have significantly positive effect on purchase intention of halal Food. This study indicates that consuming halal food is primary need for Muslim. Therefore, company should acquire halal certification in order to provide halal food for Muslim’s needs. This study contributed for the research literature, government, food manufacturers and marketers to develop strategies related with halal food.
