Exploring the ICT Competence and Confidence Among Undergraduate Nurses in University of Lagos

The role of technology in education has been critical in the potential of computer technology to transform teaching and learning. This study explored nursing students' information and communication technology competence and confidence. It presents selected findings that focus on students' attitudes towards information and communication technology as an educational methodology. Information and communication technology is integral to contemporary nursing practice. A cross sectional study was used and the sample consists of 74 undergraduate nurses. The result showed that 95.8% undergraduate nurses have good competence level of ICT and 88.7% undergraduate nurses have positive perception towards the use of ICT while the remaining 11.3% have a negative perception. Findings of the study revealed that majority of the undergraduate nurses have a positive perception and good competence level about ICT. It is therefore the role of the lecturers to design students' curricula program emphasizing importance role ICT in nursing.

In the last few decades, Information Technology has transformed the entire world into a village, known as Global Village, as proposed by Marshal McLuhan. ICT has increased its influence in every field like the education sector, defense sector, technology etc. In the 21st century, information and communication technology (ICT) has become an important and integral part of most educational organizations throughout the world.. The use of ICT in classroom teaching and learning processes has become indispensable as it gives teachers and learners the opportunity to operate, store, control and retrieve data in addition to promoting self-regulated and active learning. (Ali, Haolader & Muhammad, 2013) Today we are dependent on technology and the role of ICT is increasing day by day and is believed to be a new normal. Keeping that in view, the present paper attempts to examine the relationship between information and communication technologies (ICT) and student learning. This conceptual paper  is based on secondary information collected from different sources such as books, journal articles, newspapers, reports of various government organizations, non-governmental organizations and soon.

ICT helps teacher to design educational environment. ICT helps teacher to identify creative child in educational institute. ICT helps teacher to motivate students and growing interest in learning. ABSTRACT  During the industrial revolution of 4.0, everything becomes easily accessible. One of its developments is information and communication technology. The high use of a smartphone as communication tools can cause dependency which is characterized by repeatedly checking smartphones which can cause addiction so that it can cause fear or phobia, commonly known as Nomophobia. The aim of this study was to determine the overview of nomophobia in Nursing students at Padjadjaran University. This research used a quantitative descriptive method with cross-sectional approach. Samples were taken using a total sampling technique from the population of an active student of the Bachelor program in the year of 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Faculty of Nursing, Padjadjaran University. Data were collected using the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) and analyzed using descriptive frequency distribution. The results of this study showed that the majority of respondents 559 (63.5%) showed moderate nomophobia, as many as 243 respondents (27.6%) showed severe nomophobia and 79 respondents (9%) showed mild nomophobia. The conclusion of this study is that majority of respondents belong to the category of moderate nomophobia. Therefore, it is recommended for the following institution to be able to develop policies that regulate the use of smartphones in the context of clinical education and practice.ABSTRAKPada era revolusi industri 4.0 segala sesuatunya semakin mudah diakses. Salah satu perkembangannya adalah teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Tingginya penggunaan alat komunikasi smartphone dapat menimbulkan ketergantungan yang ditandai dengan selalu memeriksa smartphone yang dapat menimbulkan suatu kecanduan sehingga dapat menimbulkan ketakutan atau fobia yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Nomophobia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran nomophobia pada mahasiswa Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling dari populasi mahasiswa aktif program Sarjana angkatan 2016,2017,2018 dan 2019 Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Padjadjaran. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q dan dianalisis secara deskriptif  distribusi frekuensi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar  responden 559 (63,5%) menunjukkan nomophobia sedang, sebanyak 243 responden (27,6%) menunjukkan nomophobia berat dan sebanyak 79 responden (9%) menunjukkan nomophobia ringan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar responden tergolong kedalam kategori nomophobia sedang. Oleh karena itu, disarankan bagi pihak instansi untuk dapat mengembangkan kebijakan yang mengatur penggunaan smartphone dalam konteks pendidikan dan praktikum klinis.

Purpose: Customer Satisfaction is the top priority in all business sectors, so the effect of different variables was evaluated on customer satisfaction which is taken as the dependent. Independent variable is e-Payment, Logistic Service Quality, and e-Traceability. Moderating Role was studied of the Use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Methodology: This research was carried out on the logistic companies of major cities of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, and Karachi. The data was cross-sectional in nature and with the involvement of different geographical locations, data collection took a longer time. 400 questionnaires were distributed among the workers of logistic firms in the above-mentioned big cities of Pakistan. Only 298 responses were acquired out of which 258 were workable. Data were analyzed using SPSS-23. Main Findings: Findings reveal that the moderating role of ICT is insignificant on the relationship between e-Payment and Customer Satisfaction and the use of ICT enhances the Service Quality of Logistics and Customer Satisfaction. The beneficiary of the current research would be the logistics firms of Pakistan as it encompasses different aspects influencing logistic customer satisfaction. Logistic service quality is directly linked to the customer, so the current study can benefit the logistic firm in how to retain customers and ultimately how to increase profitability. Implications/Applications: Current research also describes the utilization of Information and Communication Technology so organizations can design their system according to the modern framework of technology. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research study is based on different logistic services of major cities of Pakistan. The direct impact of independent variables on a dependent variable will be studied along with the moderating effect of Use of ICT on the direct relationships. The practice of logistic services has been changed due to the emergence of the concept of service quality and relationship marketing. Traditionally, logistics has been thought to be a bridge between production and consumption.
