The global competition have extended the scope of trade and extended the supply chains causing the information management to be an essential part of the businesses. Many new technologies have recently been adapted by organizations in the era of digitalization. Cloud computing had an important place in these technologies and has been integrated widely to organizations. In recent days unexpected and risky periods such as the global pandemic increased the interest towards cloud computing topic in both academically and practically. The purpose of this study is to analyze and classify the contributions of the studies published in cloud computing field. The cloud literature is analyzed systematically from the management and business point of view. The review is limited with journal articles and papers published between 2014 and 2019. This research summarizes the current research attempts, discovers the research gaps and provides a research agenda for the future research on cloud computing within the context of information management in business and management by a global perspective.

Background: The marginalisation of youth with disabilities from employment opportunities is evident from literature in as far as they form part of the larger groups ‘people with disabilities’ and ‘youth’. A focused view of programmes that assist youth with disabilities into employment has not been presented, despite the worldwide crisis of youth unemployment.Aim: This review aimed to identify evidence on work transition programmes that are effective in assisting people with disabilities into open labour market (competitive) employment, as well as to highlight gaps in knowledge to inform future research on this topic.Methods: Literature and policy on programmes that support such transitions were considered, firstly from a global perspective and then with a view from developing countries. The SALSA (Search, Appraisal, Synthesis and Analysis) framework was used to source and analyse information from a diverse set of documents. Various online databases were searched for research papers published between 1990 and 2016, and websites were searched for reports pertaining to this topic.Results: Ninety-nine documents were selected to inform the review, out of an identified 259 scientific journal articles, policy documents, acts, organisational reports and book chapters.Conclusion: A synthesis of findings was presented in a narrative that reflects the themes of youth with disabilities and employment in the world, work transition endeavours in the developing world and a specific focus on this group in South Africa. The review revealed a gap in knowledge and evidence pertaining to youth with disabilities and employment, highlighting these as research foci, and emphasising the need for youth-focused research that generates knowledge about disability and transitions into the labour force.

Abstract This essay expands upon the debate on sociomateriality with a critique of the current ontological agenda. Based upon the influential literature from the fields of management and organization studies, and information systems, it presents the emergence, the development, the consolidation and the popularization of the debate on the relations between the social and the material in organizations. Drawing on this trajectory, the paper suggests that the current agenda for a sociomaterial ontology is constituted predominantly through rhetorical uses of the notion of ontology. The relevance of this contribution lies in questioning the supposed development of a sociomaterial ontology, describing and exemplifying its rhetorical strategies: authorial randomness, theoretical centrifugation, and conceptual procrastination. It concludes that it is necessary to return to the phenomenon as relevant “in” the debate from the point of view of its trajectory: the diffusion of new technologies and the subsequent implications at the organizational and social levels. The main implication for future research is the adoption of pragmatic ontologies with the aim of restoring the primacy of the phenomenon over the ontology.

This study, titled “Hospitality Industry During COVID-19 Crisis: Review of the Current Situation and Sustainable Post-Crisis Response”, is a review of published studies, assessing the current research efforts in the hospitality industry that was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 global pandemic, as well as possible sustainable crisis management solutions. In response to the crisis, caused by virus outbreak and followed by the travel bans, many hotels were forced to close their doors temporarily or even forever. Such a deep crisis in the hospitality industry resulted in many problems, especially social problems among the employees of the industry. The study has utilised secondary research methodology to conduct a literature review; qualitative content analysis has been applied to the selected academic pieces of literature, journal articles, published researches and thesis papers, government reports, case studies, UNWTO monthly reports. The results revealed approaches and the most popular research directions, as well as possible crisis management solutions and strategies. The findings are highlighting the challenges in tourisms and hospitality industry in the wake of ongoing pandemic; the study lists possible post-crisis sustainable strategic solutions, as well as directions for the future research efforts.

In recent years, there has been significant advancement in resource management mechanisms for cloud computing infrastructure performance in terms of cost, quality of service (QoS) and energy consumption. The emergence of the Internet of Things has led to the development of infrastructure that extends beyond centralised data centers from the cloud to the edge, the so-called cloud-to-thing continuum (C2T). This infrastructure is characterised by extreme heterogeneity, geographic distribution, and complexity, where the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the traditional model of cloud computing may no longer apply in the same way. Existing resource management mechanisms may not be suitable for such complex environments and therefore require thorough testing, validation and evaluation before even being considered for live system implementation. Similarly, previously discounted resource management proposals may be more relevant and worthy of revisiting. Simulation is a widely used technique in the development and evaluation of resource management mechanisms for cloud computing but is a relatively nascent research area for new C2T computing paradigms such as fog and edge computing. We present a methodical literature analysis of C2T resource management research using simulation software tools to assist researchers in identifying suitable methods, algorithms, and simulation approaches for future research. We analyse 35 research articles from a total collection of 317 journal articles published from January 2009 to March 2019. We present our descriptive and synthetic analysis from a variety of perspectives including resource management, C2T layer, and simulation.

In this chapter, the authors discuss the use of diffusion of innovations as a foundational theory for research in the medical informatics discipline. They performed a meta-analysis to examine the enduring efficacy of the tenets of diffusion of innovations. Then, they performed a content analysis to examine over 2,000 journal articles from the fields of medical informatics, medicine, and information systems. The authors found that tenets of diffusion of innovations theory were prevalent in much of the literature and that the relationships proposed by diffusion of innovations theory have remained significant in the empirical literature. Although several theories are useful in explaining phenomenon in the domain of medical informatics, diffusion of innovation is one such theory that can be applicable to a vast amount of medical informatics research focused on new technologies or work processes, and the authors suggest that scholars use and/or synthesize it with additional theory to provide a foundation for future research in this area.

Cloud computing is one of the enablers of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR.40). IR 4.0 is advantageous as it allows companies to increase performance and productivity. However, there are many enablers of IR 4.0, such as big data analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, and blockchain. However, the readiest to be used technology is cloud computing. While the advantages of cloud computing are well understood from the perspective of the literature and companies' point of view, the empirical evidence is still scarce. The research explores the drivers of cloud adoption between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. The study method is a quantitative method through e-survey data collection analyzed using IBM SPSS and Smart PLS software. The recognition of drivers will allow IT decision-makers to design the right platform for SMEs, increasing their company competitiveness. The findings revealed that cloud flexibility, perceived concern, privacy, relative advantage, perceived cost-benefit, quality of service, and top management support are among the top cloud adoption priorities that need to be improved in the creative industry to ensure the adoption of cloud computing more apparent. The study's contribution revealed that cloud computing is no longer at the infant stage in terms of adoption. Thus, the findings paved the way for scholars to undertake future research focusing on cloud computing implementation. Companies, on the other hand, can learn from this research by improving the adoption aspects.

Despite many years of business-orientated information and communication technology (ICT) deployment, contemporary organisations continue to struggle with customer-centric implementation of new technologies that are profitable and contribute to sustainable service business success. This paper reviews the difficulties inherent in using ICTs to manage customer-related information, and identifies the particular challenges for customer-centric deployment of ICTs. It provides a model of different levels of customer centric information use in organizations. The authors review implications for future research in this emerging area and conclude that the challenges of ICT deployment and use must be addressed with an uncompromising focus on customer value as the central principle of both ICT design and deployment, and of information management in service organizations.

The informational and digital era of Big Data presents a non-trivial and unprecedented way in history for data and information management in organizations. Thus, to manage, protect, and ensure the validation of this data, it is imperative to develop new technologies for project management and their respective implementation in organizations. This chapter shows a case study in a pharmaceutical industry with the proposition of a methodology for validation of emerging technologies in the computerized systems. Data validation and security for project management in the organization is increasingly in demand. So, this implies that time and human resources in organizations are not infinite. It is necessary to prioritize the activities and resources dedicated to maintaining the validated state of the system. Authors propose a risk analysis to help companies with validation. They also present a proposed methodology for risk analysis from the point of view of the validation of computerized systems in a Warehouse Management module in a validated SAP ERP.
