Based on the problems of traditional broadcast system such as complexity wiring and low efficiency, this paper presents a design scheme of intelligent addressable broadcast system which takes the advantages of Zigbee and frequency modulation (FM) technologies. This system adopts a cluster topology structure with a master and numerous of broadcast nodes. The network management and system control is realized by Zigbee. The audio signal is transmitted via FM broadcast. Besides, we realized the upper computer software design based on Visual C. The practical test shows that audio quality and system efficiency are both greatly enhanced, and the broadcast system is low-cost, low-power and low-complexity.

This paper presents a design scheme of 5.1-channel wireless audio system which takes the advantages of Zigbee and PurePath Wireless technologies. It overcomes several disadvantages of traditional wired audio system such as inconvenience of speaker placement, complexity of wiring, low efficiency, etc. This system adopts a star topology structure with a host and six slave machines. System management is based on Zigbee network, and digital audio is transmitted via PurePath Wireless audio link. The CC8530 audio transceiver chips and IEEE 802.15.4 RF chips were adopted as the hardware platform and the Zigbee protocol stack was adopted as the core software. The results show that this method makes the wireless audio system low-cost, low-power and low-complexity. In addition, audio quality and system efficiency are both greatly enhanced.

To achieve better MP3 audio output quality, this thesis makes research of D/A chips that most MP3 players to ultimately make the decision of using one-bit DAC as the way of DAC and audio output. And this overall design scheme is given out as well. Decoding MP3 files through upper computer software of PC and transmitting data to one-bit DAC module through serial ports. DAC is realized in FPGA chip through Verilog Language. And high shelf is used in the output section of one-bit DAC module. Finally, analyzes the output audio frequency of one-bit DAC module, surveys general performance of the overall play system and DAC module.[1][2]

Abstract This paper presents a novel, low-complexity method of simulating PV source characteristics suitable for real-time modeling and hardware implementation. The application of the suitable model of the PV source as well as the model of all the PV system components in a real-time hardware gives a safe, fast and low cost method of testing PV systems. The paper demonstrates the concept of the PV array model and the hardware implementation in FPGAs of the system which combines two PV arrays. The obtained results confirm that the proposed model is of low complexity and can be suitable for hardware in the loop (HIL) tests of the complex PV system control, with various arrays operating under different conditions.

To guarantee the normal construction of trenchless rigs and increase enterprises’ managerial effectiveness of trenchless rigs all over the country, considering the construction characteristics of this kind of machine, the paper develops a upper-computer software of trenchless rig remote monitoring device based on VB. Through this software, it is convenient for enterprises to realize the real-time monitoring of trenchless rig information such as its application factors, geographical locations ,operating time and primitive parameters. Field experiment was conducted when software design for testability was finished, and the experimental data shows that this software can meet projects’ application requirements.Key words: VB; trenchless rig; monitoring; software

This research proposes an Accelerated Life Test System and has realized the reliability test of water quality analyzer. ALT (Accelerated Life Test) system is based on the principle of step stress accelerated life test and takes temperature as the accelerated stress. The system includes lower computer PLC and upper computer software of MCGS. In this research, Upper computer using configuration software to connect with the SIEMENS S7-300 PLC, in order to realize data acquisition and system control. This system improves the reliability test efficiency of the water quality analyzer, reduces the cost of test and has good economic efficiency.

Abstract. Background: Identifying precursors that will aid in the discovery of individuals who may harm themselves or others has long been a focus of scholarly research. Aim: This work set out to determine if it is possible to use the legacy tokens of active shooters and notes left from individuals who completed suicide to uncover signals that foreshadow their behavior. Method: A total of 25 suicide notes and 21 legacy tokens were compared with a sample of over 20,000 student writings for a preliminary computer-assisted text analysis to determine what differences can be coded with existing computer software to better identify students who may commit self-harm or harm to others. Results: The results support that text analysis techniques with the Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) tool are effective for identifying suicidal or homicidal writings as distinct from each other and from a variety of student writings in an automated fashion. Conclusion: Findings indicate support for automated identification of writings that were associated with harm to self, harm to others, and various other student writing products. This work begins to uncover the viability or larger scale, low cost methods of automatic detection for individuals suffering from harmful ideation.

Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a common and practical technique to detect human activity and other physiological parameters and is commonly implemented in wearable devices. However, the PPG signal is often severely corrupted by motion artifacts. The aim of this paper is to address the human activity recognition (HAR) task directly on the device, implementing a recurrent neural network (RNN) in a low cost, low power microcontroller, ensuring the required performance in terms of accuracy and low complexity. To reach this goal, (i) we first develop an RNN, which integrates PPG and tri-axial accelerometer data, where these data can be used to compensate motion artifacts in PPG in order to accurately detect human activity; (ii) then, we port the RNN to an embedded device, Cloud-JAM L4, based on an STM32 microcontroller, optimizing it to maintain an accuracy of over 95% while requiring modest computational power and memory resources. The experimental results show that such a system can be effectively implemented on a constrained-resource system, allowing the design of a fully autonomous wearable embedded system for human activity recognition and logging.

In this study, a low-cost and adaptable isometric strength measurement and exercise development system are described. The implemented system consists of mechanical structure, force measurement sensor, electronic circuit, and computer software. Isometric-isotonic (via spring resistance) strength analysis and various exercise programs can be applied with the system. The developed system has a lower cost compared to its counterparts in the literature and has a structure that can be adapted to different machines and measuring methods. The operability and reliability of the isometric strength measurement and exercise development system have been proven by calibration tests.
