established the evaluation index according to the influencing factors (the road grade, traffic volume, road conditions, the strength of pavement, pavement performance and anti-sliding ability, etc) of highway asphalt pavement maintenance scheme. According to the interrelation of the various indexes, I put forward a set of method about the maintenance of the highway asphalt pavement.

As a fundamental work for pavement maintenance management, the evaluation on asphalt pavement performance is the premise of determining the maintenance time and strategy. Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional TOPSIS model, an improved TOPSIS method is proposed to make comprehensive assessment on asphalt pavement performance. Instead of the Euclid distance, the vertical distance between the evaluation object and positive ideal solution is taken as the basis for alternatives ranking. A case study is carried out, indicating that this approach is rational and feasible. The result can provide a certain reference for the road management department to make optimal decision.

With the increase of traffic volume and axle load, asphalt pavement rutting has become one of the major damage of highway. Adding anti-rutting agent in asphalt mixture is a kind of effective mean to prevent pavement rutting. In this paper, RA anti-rutting agent is selected as the admixture. Laboratory test is taken to study the pavement performance of asphalt mixture and analyze the influence of anti-rutting agent on the pavement performance of asphalt mixture.

Fiberglass-Polyester Paving Mat is a new compound synthetic material, and a compound of fiberglass and polyester, which advantages include high strength, low elongation, good compatibility with bitumen, resistance of high temperature and corrosiveness. This paper mainly elaborated the performance of Fiberglass-Polyester Paving Mat, such as delaying cracking, alleviating the crack development, which can effectively prevent the road surface water infiltration and improve the pavement performance in asphalt pavement construction and transformation. Based on the forming mechanism of reflective cracks, this article describes the engineering application of fiberglass-polyester paving mat in the prevention of reflection crack of bituminous pavement and in waterproofing of the paving layer in tunnels, thus providing the basis for the application of Fiberglass-Polyester Paving Mat in highway construction and maintenance engineering.

There are two technologies for road construction, e.g. an asphalt one and a concrete one, that exist in the market of road infrastructure at the moment and they both have their advantages and disadvantages [prof Jan Deja of Krakow Mining Academy, Cathedral of Building Materials Technology].The advantage of concrete pavement consists of the fact that it doesn’t require bigger financial expenditures within 10 – 20 years of exploitation (provided that necessary pavement maintenance treatments are carried out). In the case of asphalt pavement it is necessary to mill the wear off layer of the road already after 6-7 years. It leads to the question: which of these technologies should be chosen, which is better? The work hereby carries on analyses concerning a comparison of the technologies for road constructions; the asphalt one and the concrete one. Based on the analyses carried out with the use of the Hellwig method it was found that the achieved values of synthetic meters for asphalt and concrete pavements are close to each other, which may indicate that both technologies are comparable within the sectors taken for analyses in relation to accepted technological-technical and usability features.

With the aggravation of high grade highway asphalt pavement destructions, it becomes particularly important to maintain pavement performance and enhance road economic efficiency. The asphalt pavement preventive maintenance technology is an effective technique to extend pavement services and maintain pavement performance. In this paper, we combine the decay model of pavement performance with assets value evaluation idea and establish an analytical method about preventive maintenance technology based on assets evaluation. An example of hot asphalt overlay is also presented, it is found that preventive maintenance techniques can reduce the attenuation of road infrastructure assets value and maintain pavement performance efficiently.

With the rapid development of China's transportation and the improvement of people's living standards, China's highways have entered the peak maintenance period. According to the old road conditions and financial conditions, how to choose the appropriate maintenance technology to meet the technical and economic requirements of highway maintenance and construction projects has become a difficult problem faced by highway maintenance management departments. Therefore, based on the principle of index selection, this study comprehensively considered the impact of various factors on maintenance decision-making, determined four evaluation indexes, and systematically studied the compre-hensive decision-making system of asphalt pavement recycling maintenance. Based on the subjective-objective linkage and probability statistics method, the eigenvalue of the applicability of recycling mode was transformed to the same scale of 0 to 100, and the fuzzy scoring interval of the four bids was proposed. The calculation method of pavement quality recovery index (PQRI) and the analysis basis of economic benefits were clarified. Finally, the weight of each index was calculated by analytic hierarchy process, and the multi-index comprehensive decision-making method of pavement maintenance is constructed and used to theoretically verify and guide the actual road section. Results demonstrate that the proposed PQRI can realize the operability of quantifying the later operation of pavement. The weight of each index from big to small is PQRI > economic benefit > applicability of recycling mode. The recycled pavement quality recovery indices and applicability of the four recycling modes have small differences, and the proposed four bids interval makes the decision-making evaluation process more simple and explicit. The decision evaluation results of actual road section verify the rationality and practicability of the decision method. The conclusions are important for the maintenance and management of asphalt pavement recycling technology.
