According to the rapid development and widespread application of virtual instrument technology, a design with serial port and the audio card of PC as the main hardware and LabVIEW as the software development platform is proposed. Not only can it generates and output basic waveform, arbitrary formula wave and hand-painted waveform in real time, but also realizes the function of the oscilloscope system, including: channel selection, collecting and display waveform data in real-time, parameter measurement, spectrum analysis etc. This multi-functional virtual instrument has the advantages of friendly-machine interface, easy to transplant and modify and good scalability. And it has broad prospects in the field of testing, measurement and teaching practice.

The introduction of the virtual instrument technology provides new ideas for the developments of the temperature acquisition. This paper presents the design of temperature acquisition system based on VI technology. This system takes LABVIEW as the software development platform, simulating environmental temperature parameters via temperature sensors and heaters. Through the USB-6009 data collecting cards environmental temperature is sent to LABVIEW software platform for analysis. The system has the functions of data acquisition, display, storage, callback, save, analysis, printing statements and limit alarm processing and so on, and completes the real-time collection and analysis of the temperature.

With piezoelectric acceleration sensor, charge voltage filter amplifier, data acquisition card, PC and vibration experiment table for hardware development platform, and LABVIEW for software development platform, virtual instrument technology was applied to the design of mechanical vibration test system. This test system mainly consists of data acquisition, time domain analysis, amplitude domain analysis, frequency domain analysis, time-frequency analysis module. Experimental results indicate: The system not only can perform real-time data acquisition of multiple channels signal, waveform display, data storage, signal analysis, playback measurement and output printing etc, but also has good expansibility, high speed, high accuracy and friendly interface. It is suitable for engineering personnel and laboratory use.

A kind of non-invasive impedance cerebral blood monitor is designed on the basis of virtual instrument technology. The system realized the real-time collection and disposal of two-channel cerebral blood signals. Admittance encephaloloop (AEL) was composed of admittance encephalogram (AEG) and admittance differential encephaloloop (ADEG), and the parameters which reflected cirrhosis of cerebral arteries included drag index, elastic index, pouring index, fast inflow phase index and so on, which were calculated by AEL. The instrument can detect dual cerebral blood wave of the patients with real-time and dynamic stabilization. Non-invasive impedance cerebral blood monitor can detect difference between cerebrovascular patients and normal persons. It provides a convenient method for researching, preventing and epidemiological studies of cerebrovascular diseases in our country.

Based on LabVIEW, this paper presents a design scheme of data acquisition, which it proposes using computer and ordinary data collection card as the main hardware and LabVIEW as software development platform, thus constructs the virtual instrument system for signal acquisition. The system can realize synchronous data acquisition of single channel or multi-channel signal, as well as real-time display and preservation. The practice shows that this scheme can not only effectively play performance of ordinary data acquisition card, but also reduce greatly program development time and beautify interface through LabVIEW which has powerfully visual human-machine interface editor and graphical programming function.

Usually the covering part of large frame structure is heavy and it is difficult to measure the stiffness of the covering part. In this paper, it makes use of virtual instrument instead of traditional instrument. In addition, it adopts LabVIEW as development platform and the hardware includes stepping motor, data acquisition card of NI, force sensor and displacement sensor, etc. The portable plate stiffness tester is developed successfully, which is applied to industrial field. It is normative and accuracy for the quantitative evaluation of the covering parts stiffness, which plays an important role for guiding production. LabVIEW development platform relative to traditional instrument has many advantages, such as real-time display and storage, efficient data processing and powerful database management and so on.

Contrary to the problem that automobile switches have various kinds and large differences in the structure and performance so that traditional testing methods have been unable to meet the testing requirements of high performance switches, the paper designs a new detection system used to detect the functions of general auto switches which applies the developing environment LabVIEW based on virtual instrument technology and adopts the technology of embedded observe and control system. Using PC as the host computer, the system adopts the LabVIEW8.5 to compile a real-time monitoring system with good human-computer interface; S3C2440-ARM9 processor is used as the main controller of observe and control system in the inferior computer which collects output current signal when the circuit is conducted after switch is pressed. After the coding process of LwIP software protocol and the drive of Ethernet controller DM9000, the signal is transmitted to PC through Ethernet interface. Compared with conventional testing measures, this system greatly improves the real-time performance as well as working efficiency of detecting switch functions and reduces the corresponding human and material resources.

In this paper, we used Lab VIEW development platform, designed a virtual signal acquisition and analysis system based on the soundcard. In addition we studied the signal acquisition performance of it. This system has functions of signal acquisition, analysis, waveform display and storage. It is easy to use with good interface, and function appending is available on user requirement. It offers a kind of DAQ solution with low cost. It has broad application prospect, can be extended to the field of speech recognition, ambient noise monitoring and laboratory measurement etc.

The symbol structure of PDF417 barcode was introduced in detail, and a recognition and decoding system of PDF417 barcode based on software development platform of the LabVIEW virtual instrument was designed and implemented. The system can process and analyze the images containing PDF417 barcode collected by camera in real time, achieve the fast and omnibearing decoding of the barcode.

On Labview’s development platform, taking full advantage of multithreading management and data stream control, a quick-responding dynamometer system for cutting process is designed and developed based on the Usb interface. The system possesses functions such as data acquisition, signal generation, signal pre-processing, data storage and data analysis, has facile operation interface, and supports data post-processing and analysis well.
