To provide a theoretical basis for water prevention and control methods and reasonable supporting techniques for vertical shaft, and to ensure the shaft construction to pass the sandstone aquifer safely and rapidly, numerical simulation using dynamic damage constitutive model, which was a user-defined constitutive modules in FLAC3D, a lagrangian analysis code in three dimensions, has been applied to investigate the dynamic damage effect in the surrounding rock of the grouting curtain near the driving working face for vertical shaft excavated by blasting. The results indicate that the distribution of the damage zone in the surrounding rock of the shaft, which decreases the effective thickness of the grouting curtain, was like a ellip-se, and that the depth of the damage zone in the surrounding rock of the shaft grouting curtain is fewer than that of the driving face floor. It can be concluded that the centre part of the driving face floor, especially the cutting hole zones, and the shaft wall in the greater horizontal stress side are the " key parts " for shaft water prevention and control methods.

Dalian speed railway tunnel is located in complex soft rock and soil, the road foundation deform and surrounding rock stability control is a concern problem. Along with the unloading process of excavation, surrounding rock moving to inner hole, while exceeding the elastic limitation, the plastic deform and the surrounding rock destroy then occurred. The paper adopted three dimensional elastic-plastic method based on Mohr-Coulomb yielding criterion and carried out numerical simulation of excavation process, in order to analyze and compare the surrounding rock vertical displacement contour, ground surface settlement and damage zone corresponding to different construction sequence. The elastic-plastic numerical method can reflect the damage and destroy character of nonlinear soil material of surrounding rock corresponding to different construction scheme, the simulation result has active guiding meaning for the Dalian speed railway tunnel construction design and dynamic analysis.

According to the actual monitoring data of mining environment and rock burst happening on the 3511 fully-mechanized workface in Anyuan coal mine, the research of the rock burst on the workface and its surrounding rock of gob-side entry is done and the reasonable supporting scheme is determined. The research results are of great guiding importance to the coal mining that has similar condition, provide scientific basis for the control technology of rock burst on the workface and its gob-side entry as well as the reasonable identification of support parameters on the gob-side tunnel, and supply technology protection in order to accelerate the advancing speed of workface. Finally it can produce larger economic benefit.

AbstractBackgroundCOVID-19 has been impacting on the whole world critically and constantly since late December 2019. Rapidly increasing infections has raised intense world-wide attention. How to model the evolution of COVID-19 effectively and efficiently is of great significance for prevention and control.MethodsWe propose the multi-chain Fudan-CCDC model based on the original single-chain model in [8] to describe the evolution of COVID-19 in Singapore. Multi-chains can be considered as the superposition of several single chains with different characteristics. We identify parameters of models by minimizing the penalty function.ResultsThe numerical simulation results exhibit the multichain model performs well on data fitting. Though unsteady the increments are, they could still fall within the range of ±25% fluctuation from simulation results. It is predicted by multi-chain models that Singapore are experiencing a nonnegligible risk of explosive outbreak, thus stronger measures are urgently needed to contain the epidemic.ConclusionThe multi-chain Fudan-CCDC model provides an effective way to early detect the appearance of imported infectors and super spreaders and forecast a second outbreak. It can also explain the data in those countries where the single-chain model shows deviation from the data.

To investigate the blast-induced damage effect on surrounding rock in vertical shaft excavation, 4 kinds of millisecond blasting model tests with three-circle blastholes were designed and carried out with excavation blasting in vertical shaft as the background. The longitudinal wave velocity on the side of concrete model was also measured before and after blasting. Then blast damage factor was then calculated by measuring longitudinal wave velocity before and after blasting. The test results show that the blast-induced damage factor attenuated gradually with the centre of three-circle blastholes as centre. With the threshold value of 0.19 for blast-induced damage factor, blast-induced damage zones for 4 kinds of model tests are described and there is an inverted cone blast-induced damage zone in concrete model. And analyses of cutting effect and blast-induced damage zone indicate that in order to minimize the blast-induced damage effect and ensure the cutting effect the reasonable blasting scheme for three-circle blastholes is the inner two-circle blastholes initiated simultaneously and the outer third circle blastholes initiated in a 25 ms delay.
