Approach Toward Parametric Design of Typical Parts and Parts-Library Based on UG

With the basic tool of the powerful secondary development function of UG NX and based on the analysis of the characteristics of typical mechanical parts, put forward a digital method and system of parametric design for the parts, created the relavent parts-library for the system. In the parametric design, mechanical parts were divided roughly into four classes according to GT. The characteristic parameters were selected from the shared attributes of each class. By utilizing the secondary development tool of UG/Open, compiled, connected by means of Visual C++, and realized the integration of a mechanical-part orientated UG system for parametric design with user-friendly interface and counterpart dynamic-link library files. Taking characteristic parameters of typical parts as the variables, different models were established through man-computer interaction according to size constraint, and then created the parts-library. The system has worked successfully taking the inner gear as example of the typical part, and given expected result. It is shown from the execution of system that the current system with the virtual parts-library can respond the designer's demand fast, avoid repetition, save manpower and time, and improve the speed of new product development significantly.

Based on the concept of parametric design, this paper realizes the parametric modeling and parametric finite element analysis by utilizing UG/OPEN secondary development tool and APDL module of ANSYS software respectively. This paper also achieves data sharing of CAD/CAE through compiling interface program between UG6.0 and ANSYS10.0. In addition, the remote design and analysis platform has been built by using ASP.NET technology, component technology, and database technology. We take piston-piston rod part of coal mining machine’s cutting unit as an example to verify the system. Meanwhile, it proves system can effectively shorten design and analysis cycle time, and reduce workload of designer. Therefore, this software has potential application value in engineering.

Using XML table as the carrier to data storage and reused calculating for serialization, parameterization, and variation of mechanical parts. Taking the Visual Basic programming tool for secondary development, which has realized the designing style for data loading and data reading of XML table and the driving of the parametric model of mechanical parts in Solidworks. The style realized batch driving for models’ parameters and series, and the application of WEB remote technology realized remote collaborative design and the sharing of model resource. Practice showed, the cooperation of method and the mechanical parts’ model completed products’ structure data of XML table, realized the batch driving of model parameters, enhanced the practical value of the production of the CAD platform, and significantly reduced the workload of parameterized redesign. Model-based reuse and XML table realized the open and scalability for Secondary development of software systems.

It discusses the development method of the direct slicing software using on three-dimensional model which can run in the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0 environment. The author uses the secondary development tool Pro/TOOLKIT, which is used in Visual Studio 2008, to write the dynamic link library files which can run in the Pro/E environment with VC++ language. This paper provides the detailed analysis and discussion about the problems encountered in the course, and gives out the capable solutions.

This paper is aimed at dedicated computer case. The solid models of dedicated computer were built by three-dimensional mechanical design software Pro/E; the parametric design of chassis components was carried out by the Pro/E secondary development tool Pro/Toolkit. A user application was created, including user-defined menus and user dialogs, so users can easily implement the models based on prototyping parts, and repeatedly modify them until satisfied, ultimately achieving the aim of improving design efficiency and saving design cost.

CAD/CAM system is one of the most widely used software in the field of mechanical design and manufacturing. The design of the mechanical parts generally uses CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks, Unigraphic, Pro/Engineer etc.. In this paper, by using UG software as a development platform, we use the software of UG/OPEN GRIP and UG MACRO as secondary development tool to realize the customization and development of general model of CAD/CAM system, and apply it in the design of professional free format machine parts. In the CAD/CAM system we put free format into parts manufacturing process and technology, and put forward the simple and effective process flow, so as to realize the optimization of CAD/CAM system. It provides the technical reference for the design and process of mechanical components.

The method is the use of the secondary development tool Pro/TOOLKIT, which is used in Visual Studio 2008, using VC++ language to write the dynamic link library files which can run in the Pro/E environment. The software realizes not only the function that direct slicing on three-dimensional models, but also the generation of NC code file through the use of custom class on slice and the Standard Template Library which save the three-dimensional contour data of each slice.

The rapid prototyping technology was introduced, including its definition, principle and characteristics. The advantages of rapid prototyping technology in new product development were analyzed. Application of rapid prototyping technology in design of mechanical parts, industrial model, medical model, ceramic products, automobile model and products based on ergonomics was discussed. The feasibility of rapid prototyping technology in product design and the optimization direction was prospected.

Technology macro-program application in numerical control is the secondary development tool which numerical control system manufacturers supported to the customers. It is the highest manual approach of numerically controlled lathe programming. This article introduces the programming process of macro-program parabola machining. Through practicing and researching the key functionality of the macro-program parabola machining, we can effective and reasonable master this ability and greatly increase the working ability of numerical control lathe.
