This paper analyzed the problems associated with physical exergy splitting, and based on this, presented a new splitting method. This new method splits the physical exergy into three parts according to the feasible working ways, i.e.,: the direct, indirect, and adaptive exergy. The computational method and the physical meaning of the three exergy parts were presented in detail in terms of graphic representation and mathematical derivation. Then, it was applied to the exergy analysis of a thermal power cycle. The results show that compared with the conventional method which splits the physical exergy into thermal and mechanical parts, the current exergy splitting method can better represent the change rule of the working ability of the real working stream in the cycle and the influence of some operation parameters, such as the turbine inlet temperature, on the real working ability. The study suggests that the new method can make the exergy analysis more helpful and guidable in its applications.

Objective: To describe the status quo and influencing factors of the work ability and work performance of health personnel in township health centers, and to explore the relationship mechanism between them. Methods: Using a multi-class stratified sampling method, semi-structured personal in-depth interviews were conducted with 182 health personnel in 45 township health centers, word frequency analysis was performed on relevant content, and a framework of mediating effects of work motivation was constructed to analyze the effect of work ability on work performance. Results: The main factors to improve the working ability of health personnel are education and training, and the main factors that restrict working ability are external conditions and personnel qualification restrictions; among the factors that affect work performance, human resources are the primary human factor, income level is the primary economic factors and interpersonal relationship is the primary environmental factor. Conclusion: Continuing education, self and social identity have a positive impact on the improvement of health personnel’s work ability and behavioral performance, economic factors have a negative impact on health personnel’s satisfaction, and the new medical reform policy has both positive and negative impact on it. Work motivation produces a mediating effect between the work ability and work performance of health workers.

The enhancement of the working ability of the industrial fluid is the need of the present era; nanofluid is an emerging field in science and technology. In this study, the Brinkman-type fluid model is used and is generalized using the Fourier’s and Fick’s laws. The graphene oxide nanoparticles are dispersed in the base fluid water. The fractional partial differential equations are then solved via the Laplace and Fourier transform method. The obtained solutions for velocity, heat transfer, and mass transfer are plotted in graphs. The results show that velocity profile decreases for Brinkman-type fluid parameter and volume fraction of the nanoparticles. The plot for the fractional parameter shows that different plots can be drawn for a fixed time and other physical parameters, which is the memory effect.

Sugars such as glucose or sucrose are considered hazardous foods because their intakes lead to obesity, further causing diabetes mellitus (DM), or cardiovascular diseases. However, glucose is needed for many brain functions such as memory and emotion among others. Glucose induces the secretion of insulin, which is needed for transportation of tryptophan from the blood to the brain. Serotonin, which is converted from tryptophan, is important for mood stability, control of emotion, and feeding is inhibited by serotonin in the hypothalamus. We discuss transportation of glucose from the blood to the glia cells. After glycolysis of glucose in the glia lactic acid is transported to cells such as glutaminergic neurons. After the release from neurons glutamic acid is taken up into glia cells and further to neurons again. Sucrose is degraded into glucose and fructose in the intestine thus intake of sucrose increases plasma levels of glucose. We show that intake of sucrose enhanced memory measured by Morris maze in rats and improved the working ability in humans. Roles of glucose and sucrose intakes are discussed together with the function of serotonin in feeding.

Numerous phenomena that occur during the process of machine parts’ regeneration have a significant impact on the loss of their working ability. Therefore, the properties of the working surfaces of the teeth flanks of repaired gears were analyzed in this research. The hereditary properties of the gear teeth are expressed by the interdependence of their geometric and physical-mechanical-metallurgical parameters created during the technological operations of regeneration of worn teeth by welding/hard-facing. The hard-facing was executed with three filler metal types, namely: combination Inox 18/8/6 + EDur 600, Castolin 2 and UTP 670. The tested properties included geometrical accuracy, microstructure and microhardness. Evaluation of the executed regeneration procedures was done by comparing the mentioned parameters of the regenerated gears and the new ones. The tested gears were not withdrawn from production due to damage, but they were newly manufactured and intentionally damaged gears, made of the same materials, subjected to the same manufacturing process. In this way, all influences except for the considered filler metal type were eliminated. Based on results of the conducted experiments, it was possible to establish the influence of the filler metal type on the surface characteristics of the regenerated gears’ teeth flanks.

The influence of the running-in process operating parameters on tribological properties of the block-on-disc samples in lubricated sliding conditions is analyzed and discussed in detail. Different running-in regimes are achieved by varying the normal load and sliding speed. After the running-in period, during which the operating parameters are varied, all samples are placed in a working regime under the same set of operating conditions. At the end of the running-in period, as well as at the end of the working period, an analysis of the changes in the surface roughness, microhardness, wear rate, and coefficient of friction is performed. Less desirable properties in terms of wear rate and steady-state coefficient of friction are noticed for the samples that were run-in with the operating conditions which were the same as the working regime operating conditions. In the defined test conditions, it is shown that the intensity of normal load applied during the running-in process has a dominant influence on the amount of wear and coefficient of friction value. It was also shown that the running-in process can significantly improve the roughness of the initially rough contact surfaces. The results of experimental testing indicate that the variation of the operating parameters during the running-in process can be used to improve the working ability of the sliding contact surfaces under the mixed lubrication regime.

This paper is aimed to examine the prevalence of such negative emotional states as tension, anxiety and depression among students and dentists (n=80). Herein, we developed the "Method for treating negative emotional states" and analyzed its effectiveness. The data of questionnaire survey and determination of adaptive potential were assessed according to R.M. Baevsky. It was revealed that such parameter as decrease in the heart rate by 7 beats per minute could be used as a criterion to evaluate the effectiveness of treating negative emotional states in medical professionals. It has been proved that our original method is effective in managing negative emotional states, thus maintaining working ability, professional longevity and mental health among specialists and future doctors.

The level of person’s physical activity belongs to the main criteria of one’s status. A high work ability level proves one’s strong health status, as well as low level of work ability is believed to be a health risk factor. Health preservation and restoration by means of health-improving fitness exercises becomes one of the most up to date problems. Nowadays, there is no hesitation considering positive influence of physical exercises on one’s physical and psychological health, improvement of one’s cardiovascular, respiratory and hormonal systems, as well as one’s physical qualities development. Health-improving fitness exercises are very popular among women (tae-bo, kibo, pump, terra- aerobics, slide, pilates). Such types of exercises enable to extend the influence of physical activity on one’s organism. The purpose of the research is to reveal the influence of different types of health-improving exercises on women’s physical and working ability. Methods of the analysis: the analysis of scientific and scientific methodological resources, pedagogical observation, medical-biological methods, methods of mathematical statistics. Results of the research have proved that Tabata is the most effective kind of health-improving fitness exercises, which increases working ability for 16 %. Zumba is less efficient – 14%. Body Pump exercises demonstrate the lowest level of productivity – 9%. We assume that such quantitative difference is determined by different health directivity and content of the exercises. High efficiency level of those who practice Tabata and Zumba is inherent in the aerobic nature of the exercises. Body Pump exercises are mainly focused on improving body shape, which makes them less effective. In conclusion we may claim that Body Pump, Tabata and Zumba health-improving exercises have a positive influence on women’s physical and working ability.
