This paper introduces the principle of applying the embedded development tool Visual LISP in three-dimensional parametric graphic design in AutoCAD environment. With the parametric design of 3D straight-toothed spur gear as example, an elaborate description of the process and method of 3D parametric graphic design based on Visual LISP is presented.

This paper is aimed at dedicated computer case. The solid models of dedicated computer were built by three-dimensional mechanical design software Pro/E; the parametric design of chassis components was carried out by the Pro/E secondary development tool Pro/Toolkit. A user application was created, including user-defined menus and user dialogs, so users can easily implement the models based on prototyping parts, and repeatedly modify them until satisfied, ultimately achieving the aim of improving design efficiency and saving design cost.

Based on the concept of parametric design, this paper realizes the parametric modeling and parametric finite element analysis by utilizing UG/OPEN secondary development tool and APDL module of ANSYS software respectively. This paper also achieves data sharing of CAD/CAE through compiling interface program between UG6.0 and ANSYS10.0. In addition, the remote design and analysis platform has been built by using ASP.NET technology, component technology, and database technology. We take piston-piston rod part of coal mining machine’s cutting unit as an example to verify the system. Meanwhile, it proves system can effectively shorten design and analysis cycle time, and reduce workload of designer. Therefore, this software has potential application value in engineering.

The author describes tooth profile formatting mechanism of spherical involute spiral bevel gear based on Principles of Gear conjugate, establishes the mathematical model of spiral bevel gears. The precise spherical involute of spiral bevel gears is generated with parametric modeling idea and th secondary development method based on PROGRAM of PRO/E software. Finally, a complete spherical three-dimensional modeling of the involute spiral bevel gear is established, which provides a method of parametric design and manufacturing of spiral bevel gears.

With the basic tool of the powerful secondary development function of UG NX and based on the analysis of the characteristics of typical mechanical parts, put forward a digital method and system of parametric design for the parts, created the relavent parts-library for the system. In the parametric design, mechanical parts were divided roughly into four classes according to GT. The characteristic parameters were selected from the shared attributes of each class. By utilizing the secondary development tool of UG/Open, compiled, connected by means of Visual C++, and realized the integration of a mechanical-part orientated UG system for parametric design with user-friendly interface and counterpart dynamic-link library files. Taking characteristic parameters of typical parts as the variables, different models were established through man-computer interaction according to size constraint, and then created the parts-library. The system has worked successfully taking the inner gear as example of the typical part, and given expected result. It is shown from the execution of system that the current system with the virtual parts-library can respond the designer's demand fast, avoid repetition, save manpower and time, and improve the speed of new product development significantly.

Torpedo shell Modeling is a very important part in the design process. However, the traditional method of torpedo shell modeling is only the GUI of CAD drawing software. If there is change in individual parameters, designers have to start again from scratch. Such method will waste of resources. This paper set up the torpedo shell parametric design process with secondary development language UG / Open API, and user-oriented menu creation tool UG / Open UIStyler of UG,which is a three-dimensional modeling software, So that designers can be directly obtained three-dimensional model of the torpedo shell needing to enter the necessary design parameters. Meanwhile the designers can save design resources, and it helps optimize the latter part of the torpedo shell design.

It discusses the development method of the direct slicing software using on three-dimensional model which can run in the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0 environment. The author uses the secondary development tool Pro/TOOLKIT, which is used in Visual Studio 2008, to write the dynamic link library files which can run in the Pro/E environment with VC++ language. This paper provides the detailed analysis and discussion about the problems encountered in the course, and gives out the capable solutions.

By combing the technologies of ASP.NET with secondary development of UG CAD system, a digital design system in main reducer based on B/S and C/S hybrid mode has been built. The system has the functions as optimal design of structure parameter, parts of three-dimensional parametric design and virtual assembly. The frame structure and function modules of the system are discussed in detail. The main reducer digital design system has carried on the confirmation through the concrete example. Compared with the traditional design method, this method upgrades the designing ability and efficiency of the enterprise.

In order to meet the design requirements, the wet shifting clutch was designed based on secondary development of Pro/E. The basic principle of parametric design and the system composition of Pro/Toolkit application program were introduced. The three-dimensional template of wet shifting clutch was established. The VC++6.0 programming platform was utilized. The application program interface was set up by using the synchronous mode of Pro/Toolkit. The regeneration of wet shifting clutch was completed. The parametric design about the key sizes in the key parts and assembly relationship of the wet shifting clutch were realized. The convenient design of wet shifting clutch was achieved. The effective method could be provided for the parametric design of other complex parts.
