Traditional cast coated glossy photo paper production process due to its characteristics that the water evaporates from non-coated cast side, so the coating speed is slow, ground paper is non-waterproof paper, therefore the paper products are easy to transmutative, as the cast shows that the formation of dense coatings membrane, the lower ink absorption. To solve such the problems, a novel porous ink receiving layer constituted by a litter amount of a hydrophilic binder(PVA) and a cross-linking agent, a large amount of inorganic pigment(SiO2) and a hollow structural plastic pigment. In this paper, the effects of the hollow structural plastic pigment rheological properties of the color and the printing and preservation properties of ink jet paper were investigated. Because of the thermoplasticity of the plastic pigment the calendering and dry technology were also studied. From the viewpoint of water-fastness and preventing the penetration of binder, the resin coated paper(being so-called RC paper) is selected as the substrate.

The fraction of deinked pulp for coated paper production is continually increasing, with some mills using 100% deinked pulp for the base paper. The brightness of the coated paper made from deinked pulp may be reached through a combination of more or less extensive deinking, compensated by appropriate coating, to optimize costs overall. The authors proposed general optimization methods combined with Kubelka-Munk multilayer calculations to find the most economical combination of deinking and coating process that would produce a coated paper made from DIP, at a given target brightness, while maintaining mechanical properties.

<p>Block copolymers are used to construct covalent adaptable networks that employ associative exchange chemistry (vitrimers). The resulting vitrimers display markedly different nanostructural, thermal and rheological properties relative to those of their statistical copolymer-derived counterparts. This study demonstrates that prepolymer sequence is a versatile strategy to modify the properties of vitrimers.</p>

Because of clear image, bright color, high saturation of the color printing on coated paper, the ink-jet printing on coated paper catches more and more people’s eyes. In order to solve the problem of the ink-jet ink (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) on coated paper already developed out, whose yellow ink slants red and gloomy, different dyes are used to produce ink-jet ink. The inks were printed on the R-230 ink-jet printer on matt coated paper. The chromatic aberration is obtained on the basis of the colorimetric values in the ISO 12647-2:1996 eqv GB/T 17934.2-1999. It is found that the aberration of the Y79 is lower and its saturation is higher. The ink is filtered with 0.20 μm filter membrane and it can be used on ink-jet printing. The ink was used to print on the coated paper together with the previous cyan, magenta and black ink already developed out. The colorimetric values were measured and chromatic aberration and saturation is computed. The Color gamut graph of original inks and improved inks combination are made and compared to the standard of the ISO 12647-2:1996. It is found that the problems of hue unjust and gloomy color are improved compared to the previous four colors together. The cyan and magenta still stay away from perfect and it should be improved in future.

Rapidly growing 3D printing of hydrogels requires network materials which combine enhanced mechanical properties and printability. One of the most promising approaches to strengthen the hydrogels consists of the incorporation of inorganic fillers. In this paper, the rheological properties important for 3D printability were studied for nanocomposite hydrogels based on a rigid network of percolating halloysite nanotubes embedded in a soft alginate network cross-linked by calcium ions. Particular attention was paid to the effect of polymer cross-linking on these properties. It was revealed that the system possessed a pronounced shear-thinning behavior accompanied by a viscosity drop of 4–5 orders of magnitude. The polymer cross-links enhanced the shear-thinning properties and accelerated the viscosity recovery at rest so that the system could regain 96% of viscosity in only 18 s. Increasing the cross-linking of the soft network also enhanced the storage modulus of the nanocomposite system by up to 2 kPa. Through SAXS data, it was shown that at cross-linking, the junction zones consisting of fragments of two laterally aligned polymer chains were formed, which should have provided additional strength to the hydrogel. At the same time, the cross-linking of the soft network only slightly affected the yield stress, which seemed to be mainly determined by the rigid percolation network of nanotubes and reached 327 Pa. These properties make the alginate/halloysite hydrogels very promising for 3D printing, in particular, for biomedical purposes taking into account the natural origin, low toxicity, and good biocompatibility of both components.

Fluorescent whitening agent is relatively small dosage in the coating, but it has great influence on the properties of the coating and ink-jet printing qualities. With the increase of fluorescent whitening agent dosage, the PH of the coating rose but the viscosity was hardly to change. The brightness of coated ink-jet printing paper and color density of the printing image firstly presented the trend of increasing then decreasing. What’s more, when the brightness of the coated paper achieved to the maximum, color density and contact angle properties were the largest. Chromatic aberration property of the image reduced from 1.87 to 1.75, when the addition of fluorescent whitening agent rose from 0.1% to 0.5%. While the dosage was rose to 0.9%, chromatic aberration increased to 2.15. The gloss of coated paper decreased with the dosage of fluorescent whitening agent increasing. In sum, fluorescent whitening agent can enhance the brightness of the coated paper as well as the printing properties. The results show that the best brightness and printing qualities of coated ink-jet printing paper are obtained, when the fluorescent whitening agent is 0.5%( relative to pigment).
