With the development of AC (alternating current )technique, larger power PMSM ( permanent m- agnet synchronous motor ) has been applied in the marine electric propulsion systems. In this paper the imple- mentation of the DTC (direct torque control) systems for a variable-speed 4088kW PMSM in ship electric propulsion systems has been studied. A novel control method using SVPWM (space vector pulse width mo- dulation) was proposed and a SVPWM module was designed. Then a DTC – SVPWM simulation model of PMSM with the load of propeller was found. The simulation results shows that the variable frequency speed regulation system have good response performance in the process of the motor start or speedup and through comparing the simulation results with the experiment data of the PMSM, the validity of the model is verified.

This research was conducted to regulate the three phase induction motor speed regulation system. Changes in load on the motor affect the motor speed response so it does not match the set point speed. This study uses the Direct Torque Control (DTC) method in regulating the speed of an induction motor. The DTC method is a vector control method that is directly assigned to the inverter. DTC method in controlling speed based on Proportional Integral Differential (PID) control. Determination of PID tunning using two methods, namely, ziegler-nichols and cohen-coon method. The ziegler-nichols method have overshoot speeds starting at 0.8% of the setpoint, whereas using the cohen coon method there is no overshoot and the speed at stable conditions matches the setpoint.

New quick-response and high efficiency direct torque control method of Permanent magnet synchronous motor is proposed. The new method is realized by optimizing the switching frequency of the inverter and choosing the most fit voltage space vectors. Modeling and simulating such marine electric propulsion system using Matlab/Simulink is performed. The starting-up and dynamic simulation results prove that this method can be fully used onboard the future all electric ship.

This paper focus on the instability of asynchronous motor direct torque control system which caused by PID parameter changes. In order to improve the self-tuning capabilitiy of PID countroller, enhance the speed and stability of control system. fuzzy adaptive method was adapted to optimize PID parameter. Simulation results show that: this strategy improved the performance of direct torque control system significantly.

Direct torque control (DTC) as a new type of motor control strategy, make the control system has good dynamic regulation performance. In this paper, we use the theory of direct torque control to research the speed regulation system of asynchronous motor direct torque control principle and its main component. Use Matlab/Simulink library to build the simulation model of induction motor DTC complete simulation and results show that the direct torque control run time has good control effect in asynchronous motor.

In order to deeply understand the characteristics of the permanent magnet synchronous motor direct torque control method, its mathematical models were established in the two-phase stationary coordinate system, the two-phase synchronous rotating coordinate system, and x-y stator synchronous rotating coordinate system. The implementation process of direct torque control method in varied stator winding connection was analyzed in detail. In order to improve the speed and torque performance of the permanent magnet synchronous motor, the direct torque control block diagram and the space voltage vector selection table were given. Finally, the summary and outlook of reducing torque ripple in the permanent magnet synchronous motor direct torque control methods.
