Given factors influencing construction safety has characteristics of fuzziness and uncertainty, an evaluation model based on Fuzzy-Set Pair Analysis is put forward, which combines advantages of fuzzy comprehensive analysis method and set pair analysis method. According to characteristics of construction, the construction safety evaluation index system is constructed, the weight of each index is determined by Interval Analytic Hierarchy Process (IAHP) and connection degree is calculated, so the safety condition development and uncertainty rank of evaluated construction sites are calculated. It is shown that the model can deal with certainty and uncertainty of information in safety evaluation at the same time, thus good results can be obtained through application of the model.

With the development of mine industry, tailings storage facility (TSF), as the important facility of mining, has attracted increasing attention for its safety problems. However, the problems of low accuracy and slow operation rate often occur in current TSF safety evaluation models. This paper establishes a reasonable TSF safety evaluation index system and puts forward a new TSF safety evaluation model by combining the theories for the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and improved back-propagation (BP) neural network algorithm. The varying proportions of cross validation were calculated, demonstrating that this method has better evaluation performance with higher learning efficiency and faster convergence speed and avoids the oscillation in the training process in traditional BP neural network method and other primary neural network methods. The entire analysis shows the combination of the two methods increases the accuracy and reliability of the safety evaluation, and it can be well applied in the TSF safety evaluation.

Abstract The concept of overall hydrological alteration degree in the traditional range of variability approach is no longer suitable for the requirements of the current changing environment. First, by introducing the analytic hierarchy process and including the concept of deviation in the range of variability approach, the traditional range of variability approach is improved. Second, by using the daily flow data from the Guide gauging station in the lower reaches of Longyangxia reservoir from 1954 to 2017 and by combining the concept of connection degree in set pair analysis, a more comprehensive overall hydrological alteration degree is obtained. Finally, based on the results of overall hydrological alteration degree in each period, a dynamic evaluation model of overall hydrological alteration degree is established based on a set pair analysis–Markov chain method. The results show that the overall hydrological alteration degree of the Longyangxia reservoir in the postimpact period is at the second level; its average is −0.43, but its identity tends to increase. Furthermore, the dynamic evaluation model shows that the overall hydrological alteration degree of its stable state will be 0.1726, its impact flow changes and its stable state will be at the third level. This is a positive developing trend.

In order to assess the standardization of safety accurately and objectively, this paper establishes the safety evaluation index system for the building construction according to engineering experience. The weight of each index is decided reasonably by the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Based on extension theory, the evaluation matter —element model for evaluation of construction safety is established, and the extensional evaluation method with correlative functions is put forward. Thus, construction safety is systematically evaluated. Finally it verified by project example, the result proves its feasibility.

Risk assessment of debris flow is the core content for debris flow disaster forecasting and prevention work. And then, risk assessment of debris flow also becomes the key method in potential debris flow hazards forecast. However, kinds of hazard-affected indictors will be referred during the risk assessment process. In this study, set pair analysis model for risk assessment of the debris flow gully in Tibet southeast is established. With the model final outputs, it can successfully solve the problem of considering all the weight values of the hazard-affected indictors in debris flow evaluation system. Finally, risk assessment of typical debris flow gullies in Tibet southeast area are conducted out by the set pair analysis model, and the model outputs also give a well agreement to the actual.

Based on the Set Pair Analysis theory and fuzzy set, the traditional clustering methods were taken into account from the characteristics of the forward, reverse and uncertain factors. A new cluster analysis method was proposed which allows more flexible clustering analysis. A case study in the materials clustering was carried on for the consumers to look for the most benefits in line with their own requirements.
