As part of the verification of geometric specifications of manufactured parts by the conventional method "of marble and dial gauge" variability measurement deviations probing points is highlighted in several swings of the test piece.Often metrologist cannot really confirm that the part is good or bad.To overcome this problem of acceptance or rejection of the mechanical part, we offer a CAD computer program for checking the specification form for circularity following experimental study.

Nowadays, paddy drying using conventional method is irrelevant to used. The increasing need of grain each year is one of the main factor that pushes scientist to invent new methods of drying paddy grain. The old method is unusefull since it takes up space, needed the sun as the drying media which causes a long drying time. One of the alternative of drying paddy grain is by using mechanic dryer. By using this dryer type, the process of drying takes faster comparing to the old method and the distribution of grain is supplied continuously. The dryer which uses pneumatic conveyor can be one of the solution due to its less energy consumption, a better drying result, and high drying capacity. The variable used to identify drying performance is temperature and loading weight. From the experiment, it is resulted that the best temperature for drying paddy grain is 60°C with the weight loading of 150 gram.

The accuracy of the conventional method of field balancing is investigated. A test rotor is provided with a known set of unbalance weights and is subsequently field-balanced by the trial-weight method, using the same planes in the rotor as those in which the unbalance weights are inserted. Vibration measurements are taken at several locations and speeds, and the results are used to calculate the required correction weights by means of a computer program, based on a least-squares minimizing procedure. A direct comparison between inserted and calculated weights gives a check on the method. Tests are conducted for balancing in two and three planes, and several types of analyzing instrumentation are employed for comparison. The accuracy of the measurements is also investigated.

ABSTRACTThe teaching of grammar is frequently uninteresting so most of students are reluctant to learn this subject. Inviting them to learn the grammar by incorporating the use of technology may become a new way to attract their attention. In the present research, the writer conducted a research to compare the impact of grammar instructions on two classes, which used two different techniques to teach grammar: conventional method and video-making activities (VMA). There were 51 students of English Department at State Institute for Islamic Studies who participated in the research. The data were collected by using a test to measure their grammar mastery and a questionnaire to understand their respond toward the method. The result showed that the students who were taught by using the VMA had no better grammar mastery compared to those who were taught using the conventional method. However, the result of questionnaire yielded that most of the students agreed that the VMA was fun and interesting. This activity, according to them, also promoted creativity and technology literacy. Keywords: Video-Making Activities (VMA), Experimental Study, Grammar Mastery,

Introduction. In surgical oncology, histological analysis of excised tumor specimen is the conventional method to assess the safety of the resection margins. We tested the feasibility of using MRI to assess the resection margins of freshly explanted tumor specimens in rats.Materials and Methods. Fourteen specimen of sarcoma were resected in rats and analysed both with MRI and histologically. Slicing of the specimen was identical for the two methods and corresponding slices were paired. 498 margins were measured in length and classified using the UICC classification (R0, R1, and R2).Results. The mean difference between the 498 margins measured both with histology and MRI was 0.3 mm (SD 1.0 mm). The agreement interval of the two measurement methods was [−1.7 mm; 2.2 mm]. In terms of the UICC classification, a strict correlation was observed between MRI- and histology-based classifications (κ=0.84,P<0.05).Discussion. This experimental study showed the feasibility to use MRI images of excised tumor specimen to assess the resection margins with the same degree of accuracy as the conventional histopathological analysis. When completed, MRI acquisition of resected tumors may alert the surgeon in case of inadequate margin and help advantageously the histopathological analysis.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of length measurements on plain radiographs during leg lengthening and to evaluate a reliable method of measuring the amount of lengthening suitable for clinical praxis. Material and Methods: In an experimental study, a plastic femur was lengthened 40 mm and assessed radiographically in different positions, and the orthoradiographically calculated total length of the femur was compared with the true value. In a clinical study, 96 radiographs encompassing 14 femoral and 2 tibial lengthenings were assessed on a digitized table with a computer program (PROFILE) with regard to the amount of lengthening and the degree of magnification. Results: The radiographic magnification in the experimental study, depending on position of the femur, was 17% (5–25%), and in the clinical material it averaged 16% (0–36%). Conclusion: Radiographs obtained with a radiopaque ruler placed at the same level as the lengthened bone allowed reliable measurements of the distraction gap.
