Daylighting design of buildings is a neglected discipline of building physics, although it is an important element of a healthy indoor environment, since daylight influences the well being of every living being inhabiting a space inside and outside of buildings. It influences the biological rhythms of humans and also enables a visual feedback from the surroundings. To evaluate daylighting inside of buildings one may use any of the available numero-graphical or numerical approaches as much as computer tools. Nevertheless one does not know how precise these methodologies really are. The values of sky, externally and internally reflected components of the obtained daylight factor may vary depending on the given tool, used. To prevent such errors CIE did publish a technical report for the validation of computer design tools, howbeit it can be used to verify the quality of older methods too. The aim of the paper is to point out, that numero-graphical approaches can sometimes determine the daylight factor levels with a smaller errata in contrast to newly developed software, particularly if it handles about the sky and externally reflected components of daylight factor.

This study aims to find out relationship between quality of life and spiritual well-being. The hypothesis proposed in this study states that there is a positive relationship between quality of life and spiritual well-being, assuming that the higher is spiritual well-being, the higher quality of life will be and conversely the lower is the spiritual well-being, the lower will the quality of life be. The subjects of this study were 80 student on on the evangelical theological seminary of Indonesia Medan. Data were obtained from a scale to measure quality of life and spiritual well-being. The calculation was performed by testing requirements analysis (assumption test), which consisting of normality test and linearity test. Data analysis was performed by using Product Moment Correlation Analysis through SPSS 18 for Windows. The results of data analysis showed that  r = 0.405 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which indicates that there is a positive relationship between quality of life and spiritual well-being. The results indicate that the contribution of the given variable, quality of life and spiritual well-being is 16.4 percent, while the remaining 83.6 percent is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. From these results, it is concluded that the hypothesis stating that there is a positive relationship between quality of life and spiritual well-being.

The article presents pioneer results of assessing the impact of the pandemic on the resilience of the older adults of the Tomsk region. We assessed the resilience of older adults and its predictors basing upon the survey of 400 respondents aged 55-92 using the Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC-25). The results reveal statistically significant relationship between the resilience, material well-being and emotional state of elderly respondents in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. The results of the study complement the existing approaches to assessing and measuring the parameters of the quality of life of the older adults, and can be used to design tools for strengthening the resilience in line with the concept of active ageing.

Introduction: Human beings produce saliva, which is a vital secreted fluid. A significant quantity of saliva is left on the skin while biting, sucking, or licking. This saliva if effectively detected could be utilized as forensic evidence. DNA extraction and typing is complex and expensive technique; hence, ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy could be used as an effective tool in detecting saliva. Aim: The aim was to detect the presence of dried saliva on the human skin using a UV spectrometer. Materials and Methodology: In this study, 50 volunteers deposited their saliva on their own arm. The saliva was air‑dried, then, the absorption spectra were recorded utilizing the UV spectrometer. Results: Saliva was detected with 64% of samples showing a peak at 282 nm. The technique proved to be very specific and sensitive, and it did not deteriorate the sample. Conclusion: UV‑spectroscopy is a specific and technique sensitive method that could detect the presence of saliva without deteriorating the quality of the given sample.

Abstract. To date, few studies have focused on perceived overprotection from the perspective of people with dementia (PwD). In the present examination, the association of perceived overprotection in PwD is examined as an autonomy-restricting factor and thus negative for their mental well-being. Cross-sectional data from the prospective DYADEM study of 82 patient/partner dyads (mean age = 74.26) were used to investigate the association between overprotection, perceived stress, depression, and quality of life (QoL). The analyses show that an overprotective contact style with PwD has a significant positive association with stress and depression, and has a negative association with QoL. The results emphasize the importance of avoiding an overprotective care style and supporting patient autonomy.

Abstract. This article concerns the utility of ego psychoanalytic perspectives in Rorschach interpretation. Psychoanalytic ego psychology focuses on how people cope with events in their lives and how effectively they can meet challenges to their sense of well-being. The way people deal with experienced distress constitutes their defensive style and determines to a large extent what kind of person they are. Adequate defenses against anxiety promote comfortable and productive adjustment, whereas ineffective defenses typically cause adjustment difficulties and susceptibility to psychological disorders. In Rorschach assessment, the nature and effectiveness of a person’s defensive style can often be identified with a sequence analysis that integrates the structural, thematic, and behavioral features in the protocol. In particular, the sequential quality of responses, especially preceding and following instances of cognitive slippage, can help identify causes of upsetting concerns, defensive efforts to alleviating these concerns, and the adequacy of these defensive efforts in restoring equanimity. This interpretive process is illustrated with attention to implications for differential diagnosis and treatment planning in the Rorschach protocol of a 20-year-old suicidal woman.
