In this paper, we present an application of the so-called hyperbolic model of magnetization. The model was modified and it was applied for nine different soft magnetic alloys. The tested samples were electro-technical steels (FeSi alloys) and a permalloy (FeNi alloy) with strongly different magnetic properties. Among them, there are top, medium and definitely poor quality soft magnetic materials as well. Their minor hysteresis loops and normal magnetization curves were measured by alternating current measurement. The hyperbolic model of magnetization was applied for the experimental normal magnetization curves. It was proved that the applied model is excellent for describing mathematically the experimental magnetization curves.

A new concept is suggested that serves to explain the effects of thermomagnetic treatment. Its validity is proved via measurements of magnetic properties and electron microscopy examination of structure of soft magnetic materials after different treatments. This concept allows one to consciously choose the treatment mode aiming on improvement of magnetic properties of alloys.

Circular magnetization processes in electroplated wires is an important topic having straight connection with sensor applications of these soft magnetic materials. In present work the longitudinal and circular hysteresis loops were measured and corresponding magnetization processes were studied in Cu98Be2/Co16Fe20Ni64 wires. The longitudinal hysteresis loops, Mz-Hz, were measured by inductive technique in a frequency range of 10 to 70 Hz. The circular magnetization curves (Mφ- Hφ) were measured for frequencies of 50 and 100 kHz in the Hφ field up to 1500A/m for different values of the axial external field of 0 to 500 A/m. The longitudinal and circular magnetization curves are comparatively analyzed.

Abstract The structure of an automated system for measuring magnetic-hysteresis loops, normal magnetization curve, magnetic permeability with an error of no more than ± 1% is proposed. The measuring principle is based on the inferential measurements of the magnetic induction and the coercive force by integrating the secondary voltage and the excitation current. As a result of metrological analysis, an increase in the measurements accuracy is achieved both by improving the hardware implementation and calibrating the measuring channels, by introducing a correction for the systematic component of the error.

A new way of considerable improvement of properties of soft magnetic alloys is offered. This way actually consists in the use of an ion beam treatment in the manufacturing technology for these alloys. Depending on the properties, which need improvement (magnetic softness or magnetostriction), the ion beam treatment is performed before or after a thermomagnetic treatment.
