Dynamic analysis and modal test were conducted on a vertical grinding machine. The mathematical model of joint surface parameter identification between the bed and the column was established in CAD/CAE integrated environment. Based on the results of dynamic analysis and modal test, the parameters of joint surface were identified and the finite element model was accurately created. Then, the weak bodies of the original machine were improved. According to the finite element analysis of the improved machine, the performances of the new machine were better than the original machine.

Establish the finite element model for high precision grinding machine which takes joint surface into consideration and then carrys out the static and dynamic analysis of the grinder. After the static analysis, modal analysis and harmonic response analysis, the displacement deformation, stress, natural frequency and vibration mode could be found, which also helps find the weak links out. The improvement scheme which aims to increase the stiffness and precision of the whole machine has proposed to efficiently optimize the grinder. And the first natural frequency of the optimized grinder has increased by 68.19%.

A finite element model is developed to predict the vibrational response of a single conductor with a Stockbride damper. The mathematical model accounts for the two-way coupling between the conductor and the damper. A two-part numerical analysis using MATLAB is presented to simulate the response of the system. The first part deals with the vibration of the conductor without a damper. The results indicate that longer span conductors without dampers are susceptible to fatigue failure. In the second part, a damper is attached to the conductor and the effects of the excitation frequency, the damper mass, and the damper location are investigated. This investigation shows that the presence of a properly positioned damper on the conductor significantly reduces fatigue failure.

Based on the analytical theories of the joint surface, finite element modeling method of two kinds of joint about rails and bolts were studied. The finite element model of the engraving machine is built and its static and dynamic characterization is analyzed by the universal ANSYS. By this way, unreasonable structural design of engraving machine can be conducted, which will provide support for the optimization design of the structure. The correctness of the modeling method of joint surface is confirmed.

According to the results of their structure finite element analysis, weaved the relevant procedures and optimized them, obtained ideal structural parameters, this text provide better ideas and ways for the structural design of the flatting mill’s higher beam.

The model of the spindle was made while the related characteristics and parameters were analysising,and then it was inducted in ANSYS finite element analysis software. Through carrying the constraint on the finite element model, the spindle was completed to realize the finite element analysis. At last, the model was inducted in MATLAB to establish the optimal model, through the mathematical model ,it was realised to complete optimization analysis.

Abstract. The magnetic levitation linear feed unit is a new type of machine features. In machining, the tool and workpiece interaction force will be delivered to the table and make the deformation, resulting in processing errors of machine tools, machining of precision and surface quality. In this paper we established three-dimensional finite element model of the table of feed unit, use the finite element analysis software ANSYS to analysis of the transient dynamic analysis of the pre-designed table and improve the structure of the table at the design stage and forecast performance of the table and provide a theoretical basis for structure optimization.

Both frequency- and time-domain methods have been employed in the dynamic analysis of guyed telecommunication masts subjected to turbulent winds. Although the probabilistic frequency-domain approach offers some advantages in terms of its relative ease of implementation and in the statistical reliability of wind load descriptions, the deterministic time-domain method permits a more realistic treatment of system nonlinearities. In this study, a numerical investigation was undertaken to compare frequency- and time-domain dynamic response predictions for a selected guyed mast in gusty winds. Two different analysis techniques were employed, with the frequency-domain calculations performed using response influence lines and the time-domain analyses carried out using a stiffness-based finite element model. Good agreement was observed in root-mean-square and peak dynamic response estimates after compensation was included for differences in turbulence intensity levels assumed in the two models. In general, natural frequencies and mode shapes were also similar.Key words: guyed mast, dynamic analysis, wind, turbulence, nonlinear behaviour, finite element analysis, cables, frequency domain, time domain.

Considering the nonlinear relationship of the joint surface between parts in machine tool assembly, a finite element analysis method based on assembly relationship is proposed. By this method, a finite element model is set up. Based on the analysis of experimental data, the result is close to the actual working conditions, which proves that this analysis method based on the machine tool assemble relationship is feasible and reliable

For the friction-type high-strength bolted joint, the bolt fracture can cause redistribution of interface friction, which will seriously endanger the connection safety of structural members. However, current study scarcely focuses on the redistribution of interface friction after bolt fracture. Therefore, this paper will specifically carry out finite element analysis on the redistribution of interface friction caused by fractured bolts. Firstly, the refined finite element model of friction-type high-strength bolted joint is used to investigate the variation of interface friction with uniform temperature and the distribution of interface friction in different areas. Furthermore, stochastic finite element method is introduced to explain how the quantity and location of fractured bolts influence the redistribution of interface friction. Finally, the mathematical model of friction redistribution is built to describe the redistribution of temperature-induced interface friction in the friction-type high-strength bolted joint after bolt fracture. After validation, the mathematical model can well describe the redistribution of interface friction caused by fractured bolts.
