To deal with the complete description and quick search for 3D process instruction publishing, a three-section process information description method was presented based on the features of process data. First, a three-section description model for 3D process instruction publishing is established according to the application type and data structure. Subsequently, an abstract matrix representation method is provided to express 3D process information, then the specific contents of the abstract matrix is analyzed and an instantiated matrix is given. Finally, an illustrative example is used to explain an application of the proposed approach.

To deal with the complete description and quick search in 3D assembly instruction publishing, a Two-dimension description method of process information for 3D assembly instruction publishing was presented. Two-dimensional description model of process information is established from operation description and granularity by this method. In order to organize process information with a certain description stage, the concept of process information layer was proposed, and the describe structure for process information layers was been build based on similarity criteria. Subsequently, an abstract matrix representation method is provided to express 3D process information and build the assembly instructions publishing model. Abstract matrix representation method was the key to influence the 3D process information description, Therefore, In-depth researched on it and an instantiated matrix is given. Finally, an illustrative example is used to explain an application of the proposed approach.

In China, closed caption is the latest technology standard separating the caption from the image. In current digital television system, it is an urgent issue to be resolved that how to implement the real-time transmission of closed caption with its host video. This paper proposed a kind of closed caption and its representation method. It also designed a closed caption data structure based on XML and provided a solution about how to package XML file and XML Schema file into MXF files.

Internet of Things (IoT) is considered one of the world’s ruling technologies. Billions of IoT devices connected together through IoT forming smart cities. As the concept grows, it is very challenging to design an infrastructure that is capable of handling large number of devices and process data effectively in a smart city paradigm. This paper proposed a structure for smart cities. It is implemented using a lightweight easy to implement network design and a simpler data format for information exchange that is suitable for developing countries like Pakistan. Using MQTT as network protocol, different sensor nodes were deployed for collecting data from the environment. Environmental factors like temperature, moisture, humidity, and percentage of CO2 and methane gas were recorded and transferred to sink node for information sharing over the IoT cloud using an MQTT broker that can be accessed any time using Mosquitto client. The experiment results provide the performance analysis of the proposed network at different QoS levels for the MQTT protocol for IoT-based smart cities. JSON structure is used to formulate the communication data structure for the proposed system.

On behalf of itself and BHP-B, Esso operates offshore production platforms in Bass Strait, a crude stabilisation and gas processing plant at Longford and a LPG fractionation plant at Long Island Point, Victoria. The Technical Surveillance Program for these facilities is implemented at both the Operator and Engineering levels. The program has been enhanced by building on existing DCS process control and process information (PI) systems and through development of a more structured engineering monitoring system. The enhanced program continues to register tangible benefits in integrity, product quality, recovery, efficiency and reliability and capacity. At the operator level, the process is monitored continuously, assisted by process alarms to maintain the plant within the normal desirable operating zone. Safe operating limits define the outside boundary of the safe operating envelope which is secured with shutdown and other automatic protective devices. Alarm and limit conditions associated with these parameters have been incorporated into the DCS control system with pre-defined operator responses appearing automatically on the screen if the condition is reached. At the engineering level, the surveillance program is a systematic periodic monitoring process focussing on optimum performance and continuous improvement. It is structured using the elements of a management system. Within this framework, engineering spreadsheets have been developed with direct links to process data via process information system software. The spreadsheets assist plant engineers to efficiently monitor the key performance variables; they also pre-define the acceptable operating range, calculate statistical performance, highlight deviations and hyperlink back to the PI system for more detailed troubleshooting. Day-today deviations and performance improvements are fed back and reviewed at the working level, more significant issues are formally investigated and reviewed with management. Key data and overall performance is summarised monthly, and formally reviewed by plant and engineering management.

The mathematical and statistical approach called “process data reconciliation in accordance with VDI 2048 [1, 2]” • calculates thermal reactor power; • performs warranty tests with on-site operational instrumentation only (without additional instrumentation). with an accuracy of approximately 0.4%. Process data reconciliation based on VDI 2048 is a mathematical-statistic approach that makes use of redundant process information. The overall process monitored continuously in this manner therefore provides hourly process information of a quality equal to acceptance measurements [3 – 10]. At a NPP in Germany a warranty test for a high pressure turbine retrofit was performed in 2007 exclusively using this method. In this paper, the approach and the results of the warranty test are described.

To solve the problem of difficult process data management caused by the unstable process in complex products assembly, by introducing the workflow technology, a method of multi-dimensional assembly process data management based on workflow was proposed. The evolution model of assembly process information was established from the perspectives of granularity, cycle and version. On this basis, the assembly process information organization model based on workflow was put forward. The detailed description of the management method of process data’s evolution in the perspectives of granularity and cycle was presented. The feasibility of proposed method was proved by actual engineering applications.
