A solar chimney is a renewable energy system used to enhance the natural ventilation in a building based on solar and wind energy. It is one of the most representative solar-assisted passive ventilation systems attached to the building envelope. It performs exceptionally in enhancing natural ventilation and improving thermal comfort under certain climate conditions. The ventilation enhancement of solar chimneys has been widely studied numerically and experimentally. The assessment of solar chimney systems based on buoyancy ventilation relies heavily on the natural environment, experimental environment, and performance prediction methods, bringing great difficulties to quantitative analysis and parameterization research. With the increase in volume and complexity of modern building structures, current studies of solar chimneys have not yet obtained a unified design strategy and corresponding guidance. Meanwhile, combining a solar chimney with other passive ventilation systems has attracted much attention. The solar chimney-based integrated passive-assisted ventilation systems prolong the service life of an independent system and strengthen the ventilation ability for indoor cooling and heating. However, the progress is still slow regarding expanded applications and related research of solar chimneys in large volume and multi-layer buildings, and contradictory conclusions appear due to the inherent complexity of the system.

One of the districts with the largest population, densest population activities, and supporting economy is Sintang District, West Kalimantan Province with a population of 413,369 people in 2018. The increase in the population of Sintang Regency every year results in a high level of work activity and affects the desire to go to entertainment, recreation and tourism places. Many places can be visited in Sintang Regency, one of which is the Bukit Kelam tour. In today's technological era, the cinema building is one of the solutions for entertainment venues, where the audience can devote all their attentions and feelings to the living picture being witnessed. Therefore, the design of the Cinema Building located in Sintang Regency is a solution to provide a forum for the community to enjoy film shows and provide a modern building concept that is inseparable from the cultural elements in Sintang Regency. The concept of layout outside and inside the building is needed as an attraction to the Cinema Building. The theater building has the appeal of a dynamic building with a rectangular shape that follows the concept of a projector with the use of wood colors to make it look more elegant. In the building, the designer added Dayak and Malay ornaments which were elements of the Cinema Building Design concept so that it was not separated from cultural elements.

1949 marks the beginning of a radical change in the relation between New Zealanders and their homes. The new government at that time began encouraging home ownership in opposition to the existing policy of renting state houses. In those days, one of the most influential architects in the country was Max Rosenfeld, a Czech immigrant who became known mainly through the Auckland magazine The Weekly News. Rosenfeld hadn't produced any iconic building or brought any revolutionary aesthetic style. Nevertheless his contribution to New Zealand domestic architecture was tremendous, though today he is hardly ever mentioned. This paper proposes to shed light on the work of this architect focusing on his participation in The Weekly News publication which started in 1949. For almost a decade Rosenfeld became known as the "Home Architect" following the name of his magazine column. His ideas and architectural advice became very popular and his publications inspired owners and helped builders to familiarize themselves with the Modern way of living and building. Rosenfeld is mainly quoted in reference to the popularization of New Zealand plan books, a kind of publication renowned for containing projects made to fit just about any taste, budget and site. Seen with disdain by some, those books were, nevertheless, the most efficient vehicle for the dissemination of architecture into the everyday life of ordinary Kiwis. In that sense Rosenfeld can be seen as one of the essential contributors to the modern building practice we find in New Zealand, which decisively influences the way Kiwis live today.

Building with earth is widespread and still mostly based on traditional experiences. Increasing demandsin energy consumption reduction during the construction and exploitation of buildings put more andmore in the focus the good features of houses built with earth.Testing of earth mixtures with othernatural materials showed that it can get even a quality of bricks, which indicates the lack of appropriatestandards for this type of construction.Testing are performed with mixes of earth and straw intended forrammed earth and adobe construction.This method of preparation and construction applies in alternate construction with straw bales and it isalso used in the construction of prefabricated panels with wooden frame filled with a mixture earth andstraw where it is possible to build prefabricated structures or as a filling of wall screens in skeletalstructural system of larger dimensions and number of floors.Laboratory tests have shown that the mechanical and thermal properties of this material fulfilled thehigh demands for the construction of modern buildings. Based on the presented results it can proceedthe development and testing of structural elements for that kind of building.Also, based on results, in the article the authors presented possibilities of architectural design ofvarious building possibilities of objects, as practical examples of prefabrication applied in somecountries.

Introduction. The paper deals with the issues related to the implementation of the “quality” concept in the construction of reinforced concrete transport facilities linked with the scientific support during design and construction. Nowadays this problem particularly relevant in the context of the modern construction solutions, combined with the need to obtain the required properties of concrete structures and ensure the economic feasibility of construction. The aim of the research is to generalize and systematize the main methods and techniques of concrete works, which minimize the defects and cracks while the construction of transport infrastructure.Materials and methods. On the example of different technologies used in the Russian construction over last 10 years, the authors demonstrated the developed methods of obtaining high quality concrete products taking into account tested and proved modern building materials.Results. The results of the research formed the basis of the projects, technological regulations for the production, specifications and standards of organizations, guidelines. Moreover, the results also allowed implementing the concept of “quality” in transport construction based on obtaining defect-free reinforced concrete structures with specified properties, taking into account the use of modern building materials.Discussion and conclusions. The research allows carrying out construction of various massiveness and extent. The obtained results form the basis of construction technology of other industrial and civil construction objects with reinforced concrete application. The paper is interesting and useful for specialists in providing defect-free construction of reinforced concrete building structures, for engineering and technical staff. The authors dedicate the research to the memory of Professor and Doctor of Technical Sciences, A.R. Solovyanchik (1938-2019).
