The purposes of this study were to describe the ways of teaching English at SMPIT Aceh Barat in terms of pre activity, main activity and post activity, to discover the methods or techniques used by the English teachers at SMPIT Aceh Barat, and to seek the difficulties faced by the English teachers at SMPIT Aceh Barat. This study used qualitative method in nature. The research subjects of this study were two English teachers at SMPIT Aceh Barat who taught at seventh grade, eight grade and ninth grade. Observation and interview were used to collect the data. The data were analysed and interpreted through qualitative procedures. The results showed that the teachers who teach at SMPIT Aceh Barat have to be always creative and innovative and the school has to provide the good facilities in order to support the teaching and learning process becomes enjoy and fun.

This research shows the implementation of contextual teaching and learning conducted by the English teachers of MAN 1 Enrekang in teaching English. MAN 1 Enrekang is senior high school that is located in Enrekang regency, Sulawesi Selatan, as one of the schools where most of the teachers there implement CTL method in teaching, include teaching English. However, sometimes the students still find it difficult to understand the material being taught, especially English. This research employed descriptive qualitative method, in which the data collected and analyzed qualitatively by giving description about the phenomena or facts have been found in the field. The subjects of the research were the English teachers of MAN 1 Enrekang. They are English teachers who have implemented CTL in teaching English. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the implementation of CTL method in teaching English to the students of MAN 1 Enrekang was not totally or fully conducted. There are seven elements should be applied in teaching and learning for implementing CTL. They are constructivism, inquiry, modeling, reflection, learning community, questioning, and authentic assessment. Eventhough the teachers understood and admitted implementing CTL in teaching English, the result of the observation shows that the English teachers applied only five elements of CTL in the classroom, while there were two elements of CTL those have not been applied because of the limited time in teaching and learning process, they are constructivism and inquiry. The element of CTL that was applied frequently is questioning

 The research was aimed at describing Islamic values in the English teaching and learning process at MA Muslimat NU Palangka Raya. This research focused on describing the English teaching and learning process that reflected Islamic values by English teachers. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach to find out facts and describe phenomena. These research subjects were English teachers of the tenth and the eleventh grade at MA Muslimat NU Palangka Raya. The data in this research results from observations of the learning process and the result of an interview with the English teachers and documentation. The finding found that reflection done by the teachers was in the lessons as follows. First, the teachers did the reflection in three sessions of the lessons, they are (1) the reflection of Islamic values in opening activity, (2) the reflection of Islamic values in the main activity, and (3) the reflection of Islamic values in the closing activity. Second, the opening and closing sessions were by conducted code-switching and code-mixing between English and Islamic expressions. Third, in the main activity, there are several ways to materials development such as (a) adding the example or exercise of the material presented that reflecting the Islamic values, (b) people, place, an event used Islamic names (c) linking the topic with the verses Al-Qur’an that suitable materials and (d) gave the assignment that related to the Islamic values to write a kind of text concerned to the topic material. Keywords:  Islamic Values, Reflect, Teaching and Learning Process

This study is aimed to find out the students’ responses toward the implementation of Pictionary game technique in teaching English vocabulary to the seventh-grade students. The study was conducted at SMP Dharma Kartini. The students of VII C  class that consists of 38 students were selected as the participants of the research. The research used descriptive qualitative method. The data of the research was obtained from observation during the implementation of Pictionary game in the class and from the students’ interview that has conducted to 5 students. The result showed that Pictionary game technique is useful to draw the students’ motivation in learning English vocabulary. From the data of observation showed that the Pictionary game made the students more active to get involved in teaching and learning process actively. The students also showed good responses from the data of interview, they stated that learning by using Pictionary game was fun but also challenging which make them motivate in learning English. Thus, it can be concluded that Pictionary game is an attractive technique that can be used to motivate students in learning vocabulary and make the students to learn English vocabulary in a more fun and creative way.   Keywords:  Pictionary game, Vocabulary

This study focussing on the use of code switching produced by instructors in English teaching and learning process based on Sosiolinguistics and language teaching point of view. This research uses qualitative method and records the process of teaching English and interviews the instructors and students as a technique of this research to find the importance of code switching. The data were transcripted and analyzed use the concepts of Wardhaugh and Suwito about types of code switching and functions of code switching use the concept of Margana. The research shows that there are 4 types of code switching intern, extern, metaphorical dan situasional code switching. Extern code switching are code switching from English to Indonesian (i.e. do you know what day is tomorrow? Besok hari apa?) and English to Manado Malay (i.e. you know what I mean? Mangarti nda?). Intern code switching is code switching from Manado Malay to Indonesian (i.e. besok hari libur jadi nda ada les. Lesnya nanti minggu depan). Metaphorical code switching is a code switching without any changing topic. Situasional code switching is a code switching with changing topic. Also, there are 7 types of code switching, they are repetition, clarification, exploration, explanation, giving assignment, checking students’ understanding and giving warning/suggestion. It can be concluded that there are 4 types of code switching produced by instructors in English teaching and learning process. They are extern, intern, metaphorical and situasional code switching. Besides, there are 7 functions of code switching. They are repetition, clarification, exploration, explanation, giving assignment, checking students’ understanding and giving warning/suggestion.Keywords : Code switching, Instructors utterences, English teaching and learning   process

This article deals with the training of Fun English Games Learning Method for English Teacher in MAS NU Batahan, This article shows several learning methods by using English Games funny and easy to understand, such as, Word Connect Application, Spelling Bee application, Stop the Clock Application, Typing Paragraphs for speed. This activity intends to enlarge some learning methods by using English Games for fun, and to give comprehending that English learning’s easy and enjoying. The method of this study used community development that collaborating theory and practicing in which using fun English games learning method in teaching English for English teacher MAS NU Batahan. The result shows that Fun English Games learning Method’s successfully applied in the classroom, the students are happy and can understand English learning easily and quickly through Fun English Games Method. It has benefit for teachers in teaching 4 skill, reading, writing, speaking and listening that must be mastered by students. In addition, School can use this method to improve the quality of learning in achieving very satisfactory results. Based on the explanation above can be concluded that Fun English Games learning Method for English teachers is very useful dan helpful in teaching and learning process.

This study was a descriptive qualitative which intended to investigate the types of instructional media used and the implementation done by the English teachers. The instructional media used to become the best solution to overcome the learning problems faced by the teachers. The subjects of this study were 5 English teachers at SMPN 2 Melaya. The data were collected through observation during the teaching and learning process and interviews with the teachers. The data analyzed descriptively. From the overall findings, the English teachers used eight types of instructional media, such as; real objects or models, slides, pictures, video, web, audio, books, and the boards. The teachers had different ways to implement them, such as they used LCD Projector and speakers as the tools to show the material and the school environment as the realia. The lack of facilities became the main problem in implementing them. Moreover, the teachers tend to use the same instructional media for the other topic since they do not have enough time to prepare.

Nowadays, a new trend in the teaching and learning process emerges along with the development of technology. This study aims at exploring the pedagogical competence of English teachers at SMPN 8 Satap Maiwa. It also aims at finding out the students' perceptions of their teachers' pedagogical competence. There were three kinds of instruments in this study. They were observation, interview, and a questionnaire. Based on the interviews, the results showed that the teachers enjoyed teaching in the classroom, and they were interested in conducting online instruction even sometimes found problems in doing the process. Based on the questionnaire, the researcher found students perceived their teachers as quite good instructors in the classroom. Finally, the researchers suggested to the teachers that they should always intend to improve their competence by applying some new methods to make students better understand the materials.

Teaching vocabulary is one way to increase students' knowledge so they can make grammatical sentences. Teaching vocabulary must also be equipped with strategies that are suitable for students. Many strategies can be used by teachers. In vocabulary, there are many things that must be equated and good handling must be taken so that students can understand what vocabulary is. This research was conducted at MTs N 7 Kebumen. The subjects of this study were the English teachers in seventh grade. The purpose of this research is to find the strategies used by English teachers in teaching vocabulary. This research find out students' responses toward the application of teachers' strategies in teaching vocabulary to seventh grade students of MTs N 7 Kebumen. In the interview with an English teacher at MTs N 7 Kebumen, the researcher found out some obstacles experienced by the teacher. One of the obstacle was students have little vocabulary. Therefore the teacher used strategies which easily accepted by students. The teacher also felt not easy to teaching English. This research discusses about analysis the teachers’ strategies in teaching English vocabulary. This research method used descriptive qualitative to describe the strategy of English teachers in teaching vocabulary. The research focused on the strategies of the English teacher in teaching vocabulary in the classroom. The researcher used interview, docummentation, and questionnaire for data collection techniques. First, the researcher interviewed with English teacher. Second, the researcher conducted data analysis using pictures, lesson plans and syllabus as data docummentation. Third, the researcher also gave questionnaires to students in seventh grade MTs N 7 Kebumen using Google Forms. Based on the analysis, the results of the research are three findings that can be taken. First, there are some strategies used by teachers to teach vocabulary, namely presentation, translation, memorization, playing games, reading, pantomime, action, and body movements. Second, this research found out the media used to convey the material, the media used are real things, videos, pictures, English books of students. Third, the researcher found out students' responses with strategies used by the teacher. The researcher concluded that students can enjoy teaching and learning that the teacher gives. By using presentations, translations, memorization, playing games, words, mime, actions, and movements. Students also can remember new words more easily. English teachers in all levels of education in Indonesia try hard to make their students able to speak and write English. Teachers sometimes  use code-mixing in their  classroom  instructions. This study is conducted to investigate Code – Mixing in English Classes of SMPN 14 Kota Bengkulu: Views From the Teachers. The participants were the English teachers who teach English at SMPN 14 Kota Bengkulu. The data were collected  from  audio-recording and interviewing to the teachers. The results indicated that teachers used  inter-sentential code-mixing  more frequently than intra-sentential code-mixing. It also found  that all of the teachers used code-mixing in pre-activity, while activity and post-activity of teaching and learning process in their English classes. They also used code-mixing for  giving instruction, translation and asking for clarification.   The English-Indonesian pattern is the most frequently used by the teachers in teaching English. The teachers used code-mixing in teaching English in the English classes to make the students able to understand the purpose of teaching and learning process easily.

An application of students’ character education in a learning process is a must for teachers. It aims to build good values especiallyreligious, nationalist, mutual cooperation, integrity, and independence.This research was conducted to determine the students’ character in Muhammadiah 1 Junior High School and the teachers’ ability to associate science with Al-Qur’an. The method used was descriptive qualitative method using observation instruments, interviews, and student character questionnaires.Based on the results obtained, the research showed that the teachers had carried out the learning process well and beginning with the preparation of learning devices.The teachers had time management in applying the Qur'anic science approach.The highest average students character scorewas 78 for religious valuesin the ninth grade, and the lowest score was 52 for independence value in the seventh grade.
