The study was carried out at the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Farming of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and the Department of Low-Temperature Non-equilibrium Plasma Chemistry of the NSC "Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine using the varieties of winter garlic, such as Duchess and Merefyanskiy white. Pre-plant treatment with four-time repeatability was carried out 3-5 days before planting using an OzW Stream Ozone TM ozone generator. Laboratory studies of fungal diseases Fusarium and Penicillium progress on the treated material were carried out with four-time repeatability in wet chambers. The effect of ozone concentration of 10, 50, and 100 PPM and exposure time of 10, 60, and 180 min on infestation of garlic with black and green mold was studied.

The total energy intensity of goods, labour and services as an indicator of energy efficiency is introduced in DSTU 3682-98 "Methods of determination of total energy cost of goods, labour and services", but some of its components listed in the standard still do not have clear algorithms for determining them. The article provides an overview of changes and extensions to the methodology presented in the articles of scientists of the Institute of General Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, who develop this methodology for more than 20 years. Authors propose such extensions and advancements to the methodology: the calculation algorithm of direct and technological energy intensity of goods production was advanced by the use of proportions for each product for multi-productive technologies, new calculation algorithm is proposed to assess energy intensity of labour and technological assets, also a set of hazardous pollutions was accounted in the method of assessments of abatement technologies energy intensity. The proposed advanced methodology could be used both for existing single- and multi-products technologies retrofit planning and for the design of new technological facilities taking into account a wide range of production factors including impact on the environment. Keywords: energy intensity of products, technology, direct energy intensity, total energy intensity, distribution of common energy costs

In the Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IGTM NAS of Ukraine), in order to improve the efficiency of hydro loosening in order to prevent sudden emissions of coal and gas, a method and device for impulse hydro loosening of coal seams are developed at the patent level. The device is based on the principle of periodic cavitation and is equipped with means for monitoring and controlling pressure in the filter cavity of the well – backwater pressure. Laboratory studies have established that the device provides maximum values of the range of pressure fluctuations at low values of the backwater. The backwater is formed by the hydraulic pressure necessary for the development of shear cracks. A method for calculating this pressure in order to compare its values with rational backwater values has been developed. In addition, the device has a backwater pressure control mechanism for bringing the device to a rational mode of its operation.

Purpose. To study the drought resistance of plants of English roses varieties. Methods. Field, anatomical, biometric. The drought resistance of plants in the field was assessed according to S. S. Pyatnitsky 6-point scale (1961). The number of stomata per unit area of the leaf blade was determined using a JSM-6700F scanning electron microscope (JEOL, Tokyo, Japan).  Results. The drought resistance of plants of English rose varieties was investigated both in the field and laboratory conditions. According to visual observations, during periods with a low level of moisture supply, leaf turgor did not decrease; therefore, the field drought resistance of all varieties was estimated at 5 points. According to the parameters of stomatal density per unit of leaf area, varieties that have the maximum and minimum values of this indicator were identified. Conclusions. It was found that all studied varieties of English roses from the collection of the State Dendrological Park “Alexandria” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are quite drought-resistant in the field. But they differed significantly in the density of stomata per unit area. The largest average number of stomata per 0.5 mm2 (163.67±7.93 pcs.) was recorded in the variety ‘Alan Titchmarsh’, the lowest (47.67±1.94) – in ‘Charles Austin’. Comparison of data on leaf morphology of English roses and stomata density showed that varieties with smaller leaf sizes (‘Cottage Rose’, ‘Fisherman Friend’, ‘Noble Antony’, ‘Crocus Rose’) have a greater number of stomata per unit area, which indicates their high drought resistance. The data obtained from field and laboratory studies will be taken into account in the formation of recommendations on the use of roses for landscaping urban areas, where plants may find themselves in more extreme conditions than in an arboretum.

AbstractThe paper presents the results of the orbit determination of geosynchronous satellites derived from 1921 positional observations of a few dozens of satellites obtained at the double wide-angle astrograph DWA (D=0.4m, F=2m) of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1985–1991. The observations cover the longitude range from 19°Wto 80°E. Orbital inclination of the observed objects is less than 3°. The mean values of the rms residuals are 066 in R.A. and 101 in Dec. over all processed orbital arcs.

The report is based on the first results of the study "The History of the Evangelical Christians-Baptists in Ukraine", carried out in 1994-1996 by the joint efforts of the Department of Religious Studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Odessa Theological Seminary of Evangelical Christian Baptists. A large-scale description and research of archival sources on the history of evangelical movements in our country gave the first experience of fruitful cooperation between secular and church researchers.
