This paper considers the trajectory tracking control of wheeled autonomous vehicles (WAV) with slipping in the wheels, i.e., when the kinematic constraints are not satisfied. Usually, the coordinates system used to represent all control problems suggest invariant subspaces mutually orthogonal, but this  approach can not be enough to treat curvatures significative large at different navigation speed. In order to get a slight im- provement on this topic, there are previous works showing that the kinematic problem (commonly associated with an outer loop) can be resynthesized by using other invariant subspaces, i.e., another representation of the configuration space. For this reason, the proposal reported here uses an oriented-manifold parametrized by a coordinate system on a curve viewpoint of the trajectory to describe the kinematic problem, however, the dynamic control law remains faithful to the singular perturbation approach with invariant subspaces mutually orthogonal, thus, it is possible to include the flexibility through a small factor in the dynamic model (well-known as ε), responsible to avoid the good-performance of the kinematic constraints. Only a common curvature-transformation between orthogonal and curve coordinates will be used to couple both approaches. Finally, it will be observed that when the controller is applied to the control scheme the behavior of the tracking is meaningfully improved.

A simple dynamics model is established based on the two-link flexible manipulator moving within the vertical plane, and a robust simple control scheme is put forward. The advantages of this scheme are simple and good robustness. Only the error signal is needed when designing the control scheme and the acquirement of control signal does not depend on the system model. The simulation results show that this method has a good robustness and stability.

This paper investigates concentrates on the trajectory tracking control problem of dynamic positioning (DP) ship, in the presence of the time-varying disturbance and input saturation. Firstly, a simplified mathematical model of three degrees of freedom is established. According to the characteristics of the DP ship, an adaptive backstepping controller which combine the prescribed performance function with disturbance observer is proposed. The control scheme can guarantee the transient and steady state performance of the trajectory tracking and meet the prescribed performance criteria. In addition, an auxiliary dynamic system is introduced into the controller to deal with the input saturation problem of the actuator, so that the DP ship can accomplish the task of trajectory tracking under the condition of actuator constraint. Subsequently, in combination of barrier Lyapunov function (BLF), it is proved that the DP system can stabilize and converge rapidly to the small neighborhood of the equilibrium point, which can achieve the prescribed performance. Finally, the effectiveness of the DP control law is demonstrated by a series of simulation experiments.

In this paper, a new robust trajectory tracking control scheme for wheeled mobile robots without velocity measurement is proposed. In the proposed controller, the velocity observer is used to estimate the velocity of wheeled mobile robot. The dynamics of wheeled mobile robot is considered to develop the controller. The proposed controller has the following features: i) The proposed controller has good robustness performance; ii) It is easy to improve tracking performance by setting only one design parameters.

Wheeled mobile robot (WMR) is usually applicable for executing an operational task around complicated environment; skidding and slipping phenomena unavoidably appear during the motion, which thus can compromise the accomplishment of the task. This paper investigates the trajectory tracking control problem of WMRs via disturbance rejection in the presence of wheel skidding and slipping phenomena. The kinematic and dynamic models with the perturbed nonholonomic constraints are established. The trajectory tracking control scheme at the dynamic level is designed so that the mobile robot system can track the virtual velocity asymptotically, and counteract the perturbation caused by the unknown skidding and slipping of wheels. Both simulation and experimental works are conducted, and the results prove the performance of the proposed control scheme is effective in terms of tracking precision and disturbance attenuation.

Load-carrying exoskeletons need to cope with load variations, outside disturbances, and other uncertainties. This paper proposes an adaptive trajectory tracking control scheme for the load-carrying exoskeleton. The method is mainly composed of a computed torque controller and a fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller. The fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller is used to approximate model inaccuracies and load variations, and the computed torque controller deals with tracking errors. Simulations of an exoskeleton in squatting movements with model parameter changes and load variations are carried out, respectively. The results show a precise tracking response and high uncertainties toleration of the proposed method.

The issue of fixed-time trajectory tracking control for the autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) system with model uncertainties and external disturbances is investigated in this paper. Particularly, convergence time does not depend on initial conditions. The major contributions include the following: (1) An integral sliding mode controller (ISMC) via integral sliding mode surface is first proposed, which can ensure that the system states can follow the desired trajectory within a fixed time. (2) Unknown external disturbances are absolutely estimated by means of designing a fixed-time disturbance observer (FTDO). By combining the FTDO and ISMC techniques, a new control scheme (FTDO-ISMC) is developed, which can achieve both disturbance compensation and chattering-free condition. (3) Aiming at reconstructing the unknown nonlinear dynamics and external disturbances, a fixed-time unknown observer (FTUO) is proposed, thus providing the FTUO-ISMC scheme that finally achieves trajectory tracking of ASVs with unknown parameters. Finally, simulation tests and detailed comparisons indicate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

In the past few decades, the research of assistant mobile rollators for the elderly has attracted more and more investigation attention. In order to satisfy the needs of older people or disabled patients, this paper develops a neural approximation based predictive tracking control scheme to improve and support the handicapped through the novel four-wheeled rollator. Firstly, considering the industrial product theory, a novel Kano-TRIZ-QFD engineering design approach is presented to optimize the mechanical structure combined with humanistic care. At the same time, in order to achieve a stable trajectory tracking control for the assistant rollator system, a neural approximation enhanced predictive tracking control is discussed. Finally, autonomous tracking mobility of the presented control scheme has received sufficient advantage performance in position and heading angle variations under the external uncertainties. As the market for the medical device of the elderly rollators continues to progress, the method discussed in this article will attract more investigation and industry concerns.
