The purpose of this study is to examine the validity and reliability of perceived self-efficacies questionnaire (PSE) which is designed for university students at faculty of education. A total of 472 students participated, selected by using cluster random sampling. In order to examine the construct validity of the PSE, Quantitative data were analysed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using SPSS 23 and AMOS 23. EFA revealed similar structures from prior research and the present study. The CFA approach verified the questionnaire of perceived self-efficacies was satisfactory for university students’ context. This work concludes the perceived self-efficacies of university students have a nine-factor structure: Planning perceived self-efficacy, Moral and emotional perceived self-efficacy, Social leadership perceived self-efficacy, Academic perceived self-efficacy, Reading perceived self-efficacy, Technology perceived self-efficacy, Research perceived self-efficacy, Motivated perceived self-efficacy and Creative perceived self-efficacy. The goodness of fit indices values shows good fit for self-efficacies with nine factors. Studies on the concept of happiness have led to questions about whether all symptoms of happiness correspond to a real and healthy emotional state. Therefore, in this research, a scale was developed to examine the concept of “authentic happiness” coined by Seligman. Firstly, literature that explains authentic happiness and defines its relationship to other psychological concepts was reviewed, and then a theoretical framework was developed based on this information and the psychometric characteristics of the scale were introduced. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the fit indices were compatible with twodimensional structure. These two dimensions have been entitled as “Authentic Happiness” and “Fluctuating Happiness”. Based on the findings of the present study, the Authentic Happiness Scale (AHS) is a reliable and valid scale to determine the authentic happiness levels of university students.

The Worry Domains Questionnaire was proposed as a measure of both pathological and nonpathological worry, and assesses the frequency of worrying about five different domains: relationships, lack of confidence, aimless future, work, and financial. The present study analyzed the factor structure of the long and short forms of the WDQ (WDQ and WDQ-SF, respectively) through confirmatory factor analysis in a sample of 262 students (M age = 21.8; SD = 2.6; 86.3% females). While the goodness-of-fit indices did not provide support for the WDQ, good fit indices were found for the WDQ-SF. Furthermore, no source of misspecification was identified, thus, supporting the factorial validity of the WDQ-SF scale. Significant positive correlations between the WDQ-SF and its subscales with worry (PSWQ), anxiety (STAI-T), and depression (BDI) were found. The internal consistency was good for the total scale and for the subscales. This work provides support for the use of the WDQ-SF, and potential uses for research and clinical purposes are discussed.

The presence of dysfunctional cognitions about how individuals see themselves and others is a hallmark of psychopathology. The Brief Core Schemas Scale (BCSS) was developed to evaluate adaptive and dysfunctional beliefs about the self and others. This study describes the first psychometric analysis of the BCSS in the Portuguese population. Participants were recruited from community ( N = 320, Mage=27.31, DP = 12.75). Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to confirm the BCSS factorial structure. Four-factor model revealed moderate to adequate goodness-of-fit indices (χ2/df = 717.1, (246) p = .01; SRMR = .044; RMSEA = .077; CFI/TLI < .90). Negative views of the self and others correlated positively with early maladaptive schemas, distress, and symptomatology and correlated negatively with psychological well-being. An inversed correlational pattern was found with the positive views of the self and others. Despite the model's moderate adherence to the data, results suggest that the BCSS may be an asset in the assessment of dysfunctional and adaptive cognitions about the self and others. Further analysis is required to deepen the psychometric properties of the BCSS in the Portuguese population.

Literatures in the field of psychometrics recommend researchers to employvarious of methods on measuring individual attributes. Ideally,each methods are complementary and measuresthe construct designed to be measured. However, some problems arise when among the methods is unique and unrelated to the construct being measured. The uniqueness of method can lead what is called the method effect. In testing construct validity using confirmatory factor analysis, the emergence of this effect tend to reducing the goodness of fit indices of the model. There are many ways to solve these problem, one of themis controling the method effects and accommodate it to the model. This paper introduces how to accommodate method effecton the confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modeling. In the application section, author identify the emergence of method effects due to the differences item writing direction (favorable-unfavorable). The analysis showed that method effectemerge from different writing direction.

Abstract Background: The Salzburg Emotional Eating Scale (SEES) and the Emotional Eater Questionnaire (EEQ) are self-reported measures developed to evaluate emotional eating in adults in Western countries. To date, the psychometric properties of the SEES and the EEQ have not been studied among Iranian adults. The aim of the current study is to translate the SEES and the EEQ from English to Persian and examine the psychometric properties of the SEES and EEQ.Method: The sample of this study comprised of 489 Iranian adults who completed the SEES and the EEQ questionnaires online. Results: Findings of face, content, and construct validity tests confirmed that the SEES and the EEQ had acceptable validity and appropriate reliability. The results from confirmatory factor analysis showed acceptable goodness-of-fit indices for two measures. Conclusion: Results of Average Variance Extracted, Construct Reliability, and goodness-of-fit indices showed that the SEES was better for evaluating emotional eating among Iranian adults than the EEQ.

The aim of this study is to develop a scale that measures active citizenship self-efficacy. Because self-efficacy identifies a person’s perceived beliefs towards his or her capacity and ability to succeed a task, it has a motivational and causative role in one’s possible acts or behaviors. For his reason, measuring active citizenship behaviors through self-efficacy is of special importance for understanding citizenry behaviors. The study explores the development of the Active Citizenship Self-Efficacy Scale (ACSES) and its psychometric properties. Participants consist of 414 university students, of which 326 were female and 88 were male. The validity of the scale was tested via explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results for explanatory factor analysis with principal component solution indicated three factor structure that explains 57,17 percent of the total variance. Since the chi square test indicated that our data was meaningful, we also conducted a confirmatory factor analysis and found the indices of goodness of fit as for RMSEA = .070, GFI = .90, CFI = .97, NFI =.95, RFI = .95, AGFI = .87, IFI = .97 and NNFI = .96. These results from both explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis indicated that scale obtains construct validity criterion. The Cronbach alphas’ of the ACSES for the total 18 items and subdomains were found .90, and .84, .82, and .86 respectively. Since the determination of citizens’ self-efficacy level can in part reflect the results of citizenship education and practices we believe that this scale has a potential use in citizenship studies.Extended English abstract is in the end of PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı aktif yurttaşlık öz yeterliği ile ilgili bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Öz-yeterlik kişinin bir işi başarmada kendi kendisine yönelik algı inancını yansıttığı için olası davranışlar üzerine nedensel ve motivasyonel bir etkiye sahiptir. Bu nedenle, aktif yurttaşlık davranışlarını öz-yeterlik aracılığıyla ölçmek yurttaşlık davranışlarını anlamada önemlidir. Çalışmada Aktif Yurttaşlık Öz-yeterlik Ölçeği (AYÖYÖ) geliştirilerek psikometrik özellikleri tanıtılmıştır. Ölçek, 18 soru ve üç boyuttan meydana gelen bir ölçme aracıdır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları 326’sı kadın; 88’i erkek olmak üzere 414 üniversite öğrencisidir.  Elde edilen verilere açıklayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılarak ölçeğin geçerliliği test edilmiştir. Açıklayıcı faktör analizinde ölçeğin üç faktörlü yapısının toplam varyansı açıklama oranının % 57,17 olduğu görülmüştür. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizinde ki-kare değeri anlamlı bulunmuştur; uyum indeksleri ise RMSEA = .070, GFI = .90, CFI = .97, NFI =.95, RFI = .95, AGFI = .87, IFI = .97 ve NNFI = .96 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, ölçeğin yapı geçerliğinin sağladığını göstermektedir. AYÖYÖ’nin tüm maddeler için Cronbach alpha güvenirlik katsayısı .90, alt boyutlar için ise .84, .82. ve .86  olarak tespit edilmiştir. Yurttaşların öz-yeterlik düzeylerinin tespit edilmesi yurttaşlık eğitimi ve uygulamalarının sonuçlarını görme açısından önemli olduğundan bu ölçme aracının yurttaşlık araştırmalarında yaygın kullanım potansiyeline sahip olduğunu düşünüyoruz.

The aim of this study was to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool in order to determine the democracy levels of teacher candidates. During the scale development process in the research, the validity and reliability studies were conducted through three independent study groups. The first study group consisted of 627 students studying at the Faculty of Education in Inonu University in the 2020-2021 academic year, the second study group consisted of 324 students, and the third study group consisted of 87 students. “The Democracy Scale for Teacher Candidates” was used in the research. In the process of data analysis, SPSS 25 software was used for exploratory factor analysis and AMOS 21 software for confirmatory factor analysis. An item pool consisting of 50 items was created for the scale. The number of items was reduced to 40 by obtaining expert opinion in order to ensure the content validity of the scale. As a result of the factor analysis, it was determined that the total variance ratio explained by the single-factor scale with 17 items was 49.640%, and the internal consistency coefficient was .88. In addition to these, the values obtained as a result of the confirmatory factor analysis conducted to test the construct validity of the scale showed that the scale developed to determine the democracy levels of teacher candidates was valid and reliable.

Introduction: Empowerment has determinant role in developing the ability of individuals in order to achieve sustainable improvement in efficiency of the health care organizations. This study was carried out to identify the variables and effective self-efficacy components affecting the manager’s empowerment in Health­ Care Networks during 2018-19. Methods: This is an applied and exploratory study. At first, the variables involving in the empowerment of human resources were extracted by reviewing the literature as well as interviewing with the specialists. Then, the conceptual model was designed, the questionnaire compiled and its validity and reliability confirmed. The data were collected through the completing of the questionnaire by 416 managers who were chosen via stratified random sampling method and analyzed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results:  According to the results of the exploratory factor analysis, the variable “continuous training” with the factor loading of 0.84 was found the most important variable. Concerning the standard coefficients of confirmatory factor analysis, variables of all the three components of self-efficacy were significant (p<0.001) and the component “Believe in responsibly ability and skill in work” (factor loading = 0.96) had the higher effect on self-efficacy. The impact rate of self-efficacy in empowerment with 0.96 and the variables “having job skills” and "emotional arousal" with 0.79 factor loading are considered as the most significant variables. Conclusion: The Universities of Medical Sciences and Health Care Networks can improve the ability of the managers through continuous training, promotion of professional skills, responsibility and presenting the successful models and experiences.

Abstract Objective: This study aimed to carry out the validity and reliability study for the adaptation of the Competencies for Disaster Nursing Management Questionnaire (CDNMQ), which was developed by Al Thobaity and others in 2016, (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26778698/) to Turkish, and to be able to use in the nursing literature. Method: This study was conducted in a methodological approach. The scale used in this study was a 10-point Likert scale with 43 items and 3 subfactors. The questionnaire was applied to 450 nurses. The validity and reliability of the scale were evaluated using the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The content validity index was measured within the scope of the internal consistency measurements, and the Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient was examined for the test-retest. Results: The content validity index score was found to be 0.98. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis of the CDNMQ, it was found that the 3-factor structure of the scale was valid and the goodness of fit tests was appropriate. Conclusion: The findings have shown that the CDNMQ study is similar to the original scale and an adequate measurement tool in determining competencies in disaster nursing management.
