The COVID-19 outbreak started late 2019 has systematically changed the lives of people around the globe. Medical schools have to implement changes in the teaching methodology to observe social distancing order. The pandemic perpetuates a paradigm shift in medical teaching, from face-to-face to virtual and online teaching. Virtual teaching has become the new learning norm but limited in replacing clinical teaching. It has been considered as one of the most viable options for the long-term durability and continuity of medical education. The fluidity of such educational changes, especially during the pandemic warrants preparation of the online infrastructure learning, literacy of the learners and preparation by the teachers during this period.

The Covid-19 outbreak led to the closure of educational institutions and affected all the stakeholders in varied ways. As an interim measure, the online mode of teaching has been adopted all over the world. This transition, with its own pros and cons, has provided a path for continuing with education even during the pandemic. This new scenario involves financial and non-financial aspects with regard to education, and there is, therefore, a need to study the transition carefully. This study aims to explore and describe Teachers’ Perceptions of online teaching. A quantitative research design has been adopted for the study. A structured questionnaire was used (N=56) for data collection from teachers. The study participants were the teachers at the English Language Centre at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (Ibra), Sultanate of Oman. The findings of the study confirm that online teaching has been successful during the covid-19 outbreak.

This paper explores the pros and cons of using an online setting for teaching and learning English comparing with an in-class setting. The online setting is undergoing a fast transformation and becomes a widely promoted platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By reviewing different studies on online teaching, this paper aims to understand the online setting better. This information would be helpful to Vietnam, where the online class has a medium used and short history comparing with other developed and developing countries, so online classes in Vietnam may need adjustment and consideration based on different cultures and learner's experiences. This paper also gives some suggestions for online learning design for English languages to increase learning effectiveness.

The most crucial determinant of success in any service environment is the perception of the customers about the service quality or the product quality as it derives satisfaction and loyalty. Considering this imperative, the present review focuses on the service quality of online teaching, which has become a new normal during the pandemic. The pandemic has resulted in a paradigm shift of imparting education from brick to click classrooms. Hence, this article reviews the literature on the factors influencing service quality of click classrooms and mentions the parameters that lead to learners’ satisfaction. The systematic review helps in understanding how the research in this field has progressed. It is evident from this review that creating an interactive learning environment, giving prompt feedbacks, providing rich digital resources and course content, competent and skilled faculty members and continuous student support play a crucial role in enhancing the service quality of click classrooms leveraging learners’ satisfaction. The findings of this study support the educational institutions towards developing a sound and sustainable online learning environment by comprehending the students’ expectations about the service quality of an online learning environment. The study aims to propel future research works towards improving the service quality of click classrooms and enriching learners’ experience to impart quality education for all the stakeholders.

Abstract In this paper I present the historical, theoretical and empirical background of DSGE models. I show that the fundament of these models lies in optimizing agents framework and argue which impulses fueled the development of DSGE models. I demonstrate the evolution of DSGE models with an accent on the role and effects of the monetary policy, using distinction between RBC models and New Keynesian models. I explain the paradigm shift from the RBC models to the New Keynesian models by pointing out the main pitfalls of the RBC models and showing how adding nominal rigidities to the otherwise standard RBC models enhances empirical properties of these models. I also discuss how nominal rigidities are modeled in New Keynesian DSGE models and what the pros and cons of different approaches are. Finally, I review the most important New Keynesian theories of nominal rigidities and some of the empirical evidence on price and wage rigidities

The article discusses journalism education affected by the increased information scope, media convergence and introduction of new online teaching forms and face-to-screen communication during the coronavirus pandemic. Since the introduction of distance learning at universities, the quality of teaching and learning has been debated by students, teaching staff and officials. By having to overcome the difficulties, the students majoring in Journalism develop a necessary skill of gathering information and issuing school newspapers, radio and TV programs in the new informational reality of the crisis. The study included a survey aimed at finding out how students and faculty assess effectiveness of distance learning in COVID-19 context. Using a method of case study to make a complex analysis, the authors examine the academic process at the RUDN’s Department of Mass Communications as empirical object. The survey results reveal the key problems the respondents had to face when organizing and participating in the online learning process. The survey also helped to indicate the most convenient applications for online lecturing and the most effective teaching techniques, and to analyze the performance of the university’s internal telecommunication learning and information system.

Language teaching has undergone numerous changes as a result of COVID-19, and has adapted to the new scenario and digital tools. While the programs for university and language school courses have been modulated to the new teaching conditions, language courses aimed at obtaining certifications require the final exam to remain the same. The present study focuses on eight adult students of Italian as a foreign language. These adults are interested in certification and were previously enrolled in a language course in Italy, but this course was transformed into an online offering due to the coronavirus. Some questions arose: how can one ensure the continuity of the new online language course? What didactic activities and teaching materials could be applied to facilitate online teaching aimed at obtaining a language certification? The aim of this study is to look at the pros and cons of online teaching for obtaining a language certification, and at effective methods and operational procedures for online teaching during COVID-19. The study results have been collected from the teacher’s own didactic experience and through distance learning questionnaires to which the students were subjected.
