In the paper, motivated by the generating function of the Catalan numbers in combinatorial number theory and with the aid of Cauchy’s integral formula in complex analysis, the authors generalize the Catalan numbers and its generating function, establish an explicit formula and an integral representation for the generalization of the Catalan numbers and corresponding generating function, and derive several integral formulas and combinatorial identities.

In this paper we describe a teaching experiment targeting with students of Complex Analysis attending an undergraduate course of a portuguese university. Our main goal is the understanding of the GeoGebra role with respected to visualization and as technological mediator, according to Vygotsky theory, in the teaching and learning process of complex functions. The first step of our study was the conception of a sequence of didactical tasks and the development of GeoGebra tools related to the target didactical objectives. Here we will describe the procedure related to the tasks implementation in a classroom environment and the achieved results based on the collected data composed by written assignements produced by students, video recording the student performance during the experiment and the student constructions with GeoGebra. All the collected data was analysed from a qualitative and interpretative paradigm.

Введение. Необходимость развития культуры чтения у современного читателя, важность разработки новых методов и методик анализа художественного текста, включая выявление содержащейся в нем подтекстовой информации, неослабевающий интерес к творчеству И. А. Бунина обусловили актуальность исследования художественной прозы писателя в монографии Л. Г. Кайда. Методы исследования. Использовался описательный метод, включая приемы анализа, синтеза, сравнения и обобщения. Результаты и обсуждение. Научная новизна рецензируемой монографии обусловлена комплексным подходом автора к исследованию глубинного смысла 17 известных произведений разных жанров И. А. Бунина. Предпринятый Л. Г. Кайда комплексный характер исследования связан с многоаспектным рассмотрением содержательного плана текстов в русле философского, психологического, филологического, семиотического подходов к изучению художественной прозы классика русской литературы на основе анализа интегральной композиции художественного пространства рассматриваемых текстов. Интегральный подход и расширенная трактовка композиционной поэтики как эстетической категории позволили автору монографии выявить характерные для писателя закономерности на уровне его индивидуально-авторской манеры письма, определить особенности психологизма Бунина, его эстетическое «я», анализируя творчество писателя на основе сопоставления произведений разных лет. В отличие от других исследователей творчества И. А. Бунина автор монографии сделал акцент на разгадке «тайнописи» писателя, рассмотрении подтекстовой информации его произведений. Это было успешно реализовано на основе изучения интермедиальной композиции художественных текстов, отражающей идею синтеза искусств. Разработанная автором монографии концепция получила воплощение на практике в глубоком анализе композиционной поэтики произведений И. Бунина и детальном исследовании динамики композиционно-речевой формы текстов и их элементов. Анализируя художественное пространство творчества писателя, Л. Г. Кайда выделяет и обосновывает интегральную композицию как «новую категорию филологических исследований авторского текста». К несомненным достоинствам книги можно отнести выявление различных «затекстовых нюансов» в известных произведениях И. А. Бунина, что дает возможность нового, глубокого проникновения в творческую лабораторию автора и разгадыванию его интенций и мотивов. Заключение. Новая книга Л. Г. Кайда в силу ее актуальности, теоретической и практической значимости будет востребована специалистами в области теории и методики анализа текста, в вузовской практике преподавания стилистики декодирования и филологического анализа текста, а также всеми, кто интересуется творчеством И. А. Бунина. Предложенная автором методика комплексного анализа художественного текста в русле композиционной поэтики может быть использована для изучения текстов других авторов. The relevance of research. The requirement to develop a culture of reading among the modern reader, the importance of elaborating new methods and techniques of a literary text’s analysis, including identifying the subtextual information contained in it, an intense interest in the work of I. A. Bunin determined the relevance of the study of the writer’s fiction in the monograph by L. G. Kaida. Methods of research. A descriptive method was used, including techniques of analysis, synthesis, comparison and generalization. Results and discussion. The scientific novelty of the monograph under review is due to the author’s comprehensive approach to the study of the deep meaning of 17 well-known works of different genres by I. A. Bunin. The complex nature of L. G. Kaida’s study is associated with a multifaceted consideration of the content plan of texts in line with the philosophical, psychological, philological, semiotic approaches to the study of fictional prose of the classic of Russian literature based on the analysis of the integral composition of the artistic space of these 17 texts. An integral approach and an expanded interpretation of compositional poetics as an aesthetic category allowed the author of the monograph to identify patterns characteristic of the writer at the level of his individual author’s manner of writing, to determine the features of Bunin’s psychologism, his aesthetic “I”, analyzing the writer’s work on the basis of comparing works of different years. In contrast to other researchers of Bunin’s works, the author of the monograph focused on solving his “secret writing”, considering the subtext information of Bunin’s literary works. This was successfully implemented on basis of the study of the intermedia composition of literary texts, reflecting the idea of the synthesis of arts. The concept developed by L. G. Kaida was embodied in practice in a deep analysis of the compositional poetics of I. Bunin’s works and a detailed study of the dynamics of the compositional and speech form of texts and their elements. The analysis of the artistic space of the writer’s work allows L. G. Kaida to single out and prove integral composition as “a new category of philological studies of the author’s text”. The evident advantages of the book are the identification of various “behind-the-text nuances” in the well-known works of I. A. Bunin, which makes it possible for a new, deep penetration into the author’s creative laboratory and unraveling his intentions and motives. Conclusion. New book by L. G. Kaida, owing to its relevance, theoretical and practical significance, will be in demand by specialists in theory and methods of text analysis, in the university practice of teaching the stylistics of decoding and philological analysis of the text, as well as by everyone who is interested in the work of I. A. Bunin. The author’s method of complex analysis of a literary text towards compositional poetics can be used to study the texts of other authors.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the recently emerged virus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. Clinical presentation can range from asymptomatic disease and mild respiratory tract infection to severe disease with lung injury, multiorgan failure, and death. SARS-CoV-2 is the third animal coronavirus to emerge in humans in the 21st century, and coronaviruses appear to possess a unique ability to cross borders between species and infect a wide range of organisms. This is somewhat surprising as, except for the requirement of host cell receptors, cell–pathogen interactions are usually species-specific. Insights into these host–virus interactions will provide a deeper understanding of the process of SARS-CoV-2 infection and provide a means for the design and development of antiviral agents. In this study, we describe a complex analysis of SARS-CoV-2 infection using a genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 knock-out system in HeLa cells overexpressing entry receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). This platform allows for the identification of factors required for viral replication. This study was designed to include a high number of replicates (48 replicates; 16 biological repeats with 3 technical replicates each) to prevent data instability, remove sources of bias, and allow multifactorial bioinformatic analyses in order to study the resulting interaction network. The results obtained provide an interesting insight into the replication mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2.

Проблема реконструкции уличной сети средневекового Новгорода представляет собой один из ключевых вопросов городской исторической топографии. Традиционная методика опирается на комплексный анализ письменных, картографических и археологических источников, при этом решающим доводом остается физическое выявление уличной трассы в границах шурфа или раскопа. Технология георадарного поиска улиц опирается на характерную особенность уличных настилов: их периодическая замена формировала значительные вертикальные скопления древесины в мощном культурном слое. Применение георадара для поиска средневековых улиц позволило не только установить расположение трасс без вторжения в культурный слой, но и сформулировать комплекс проблем, связанных как с собственно технологией, так и с методикой археологической разведки по результатам предварительного анализа территории. Reconstruction of city street structure is one of the most important questions of medieval Novgorod topography. Traditional way of medieval street discovery is based on complex analysis of written sources, historical maps, and archaeological data. Ground penetration radar (GPR) technology allows to reveal constructions of wooden streets, buried in organic cultural deposits, which may reach several meters thick. GPR using allowed to locate position of several street pavements and raise several questions concerning both GPR usage on thick organic deposits and technology of archaeological exploration of medieval streets.

Poor solubility of new antifungal of 1,2,4-triazole class (S-119)—a structural analogue of fluconazole in aqueous media was estimated. The solubility improvement using different excipients: biopolymers (PEGs, PVP), surfactants (Brij S20, pluronic F-127) and cyclodextrins (α-CD, β-CD, 2-HP-β-CD, 6-O-Maltosyl-β-CD) was assessed in buffer solutions pH 2.0 and pH 7.4. Additionally, 2-HP-β-CD and 6-O-Maltosyl-β-CD were proposed as promising solubilizers for S-119. According to the solubilization capacity and micelle/water partition coefficients in buffer pH 7.4 pluronic F-127 was shown to improve S-119 solubility better than Brij S20. Among biopolymers, the greatest increase in solubility was shown in PVP solutions (pH 7.4) at concentrations above 4 w/v%. Complex analysis of the driving forces of solubilization, micellization and complexation processes matched the solubility results and suggested pluronic F-127 and 6-O-Maltosyl-β-CD as the most effective solubilizing agents for S-119. The comparison of S-119 diffusion through the cellulose membrane and lipophilic PermeaPad barrier revealed a considerable effect of the lipid layer on the decrease in the permeability coefficient. According to the PermeaPad, S-119 was classified as a highly permeated substance. The addition of 1.5 w/v% CDs in donor solution moves it to low-medium permeability class.

AbstractThe changing landscape of genomics research and clinical practice has created a need for computational pipelines capable of efficiently orchestrating complex analysis stages while handling large volumes of data across heterogeneous computational environments. Workflow Management Systems (WfMSs) are the software components employed to fill this gap. This work provides an approach and systematic evaluation of key features of popular bioinformatics WfMSs in use today: Nextflow, CWL, and WDL and some of their executors, along with Swift/T, a workflow manager commonly used in high-scale physics applications. We employed two use cases: a variant-calling genomic pipeline and a scalability-testing framework, where both were run locally, on an HPC cluster, and in the cloud. This allowed for evaluation of those four WfMSs in terms of language expressiveness, modularity, scalability, robustness, reproducibility, interoperability, ease of development, along with adoption and usage in research labs and healthcare settings. This article is trying to answer, which WfMS should be chosen for a given bioinformatics application regardless of analysis type?. The choice of a given WfMS is a function of both its intrinsic language and engine features. Within bioinformatics, where analysts are a mix of dry and wet lab scientists, the choice is also governed by collaborations and adoption within large consortia and technical support provided by the WfMS team/community. As the community and its needs continue to evolve along with computational infrastructure, WfMSs will also evolve, especially those with permissive licenses that allow commercial use. In much the same way as the dataflow paradigm and containerization are now well understood to be very useful in bioinformatics applications, we will continue to see innovations of tools and utilities for other purposes, like big data technologies, interoperability, and provenance.

AbstractAlthough a great deal of research has been done on leadership styles, and university students have often been the subject of exploratory research in social sciences, the Full Range Leadership model has been applied to young people only in a few instances. In this article, the authors seek to survey the preferred leadership styles among Hungarian students and explore how they correlate with managerial and entrepreneurial inclination. A complex analysis of leadership style preferences of university students combined with their managerial and entrepreneurial inclination, social and cultural resources is rare in the research practice so far. The online questionnaire used in the research was completed by 335 university students studying economics, engineering and social studies both in Budapest and in the country. The questionnaire was completed by 335 university students. The results are exploratory and they amend the existing leadership typologies at some points. Based on the results of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire featuring 36 self-rating items, four distinct leadership styles emerged within the target group, representing the transformational, the supportive, the defensive, and the laissez-faire leadership types. The multivariate analysis has shown that while managerial inclination is related to the transformational style of leadership, entrepreneurial aspirations are associated with the transformational and supportive leadership styles.

Bergman space theory has been at the core of complex analysis research for many years. Indeed, Hardy spaces are related to Bergman spaces. The popularity of Bergman spaces increased when functional analysis emerged. Although many researchers investigated the Bergman space theory by mimicking the Hardy space theory, it appeared that, unlike their cousins, Bergman spaces were more complex in different aspects. The issue of invariant subspace constitutes one common problem in mathematics that is yet to be resolved. For Hardy spaces, each invariant subspace for shift operators features an elegant description. However, the method for formulating particular structures for the large invariant subspace of shift operators upon Bergman spaces is still unknown. This paper aims to characterize bounded Hankel operators involving a vector-valued Bergman space compared to other different vector value Bergman spaces.
