AbstractIn patients with chronic renal failure, hemodialysis therapy is needed to replace kidney function by removing nitrogenous substances and toxins in the blood and excessive water. Appropriate management of patients with chronic kidney failure in addition to preventing complications is expected to increase the client's life expectancy. In patients with chronic kidney failure, quality of life also reflects the quality of treatment because it involves physical, psychological, and social processes to be achieved. A good quality of life is needed by hemodialysis patients to prevent the disease from getting worse. This literature review aims to describe the quality of life hemodialysis patients. This study accesses an online database with electronic searches on Pubmed, Portal garuda and Proquest. The search was conducted by combining the keywords “quality of life, chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis” and articles published in the period 2012-2021. Instrumen for the literature review using Strobe instrument. The results of the literature review show that the quality of life score on the physical health dimension is low while on the psychological and environmental dimensions the quality of life score is high. . It is hoped that this study can be a reference for nurses in providing holistic nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis so that their quality of lifecan improve. This research is then needed as a data base for the development of other researchers. Keywords: Chronic renal failure; hemodialysis; quality of life AbstrakGagal ginjal kronik disebabkan karena disfungsi ginjal yang bersifat menahun, progresif, irreversible yang memerlukan terapi hemodialisa, pengaturan pola makan dan akses cairan yang masuk. This study is required because there are lacks of information in Romania, related to oral status of patients with chronic kidney disease – chronic renal failure, with or without nephritic syndrome, with or without dialysis. Rationale study was conducted by internationally indexed database query. The design study consists to finally obtain a questionnaire to collect medical information related to: the stage of kidney disease, main cardiac, liver, skeletal system diseases and also diabetes. All these are related with specific medication and its influence on oral cavity. There has been collected biochemistry data with relevance in chronic renal failure related to the oral status, oral symptomatology – the presence or absence of roots, toothless, the xerostomia. Also we obtain data about denture presence or absence, quality of life trough prosthetic efficiency – chewing efficiency – for hard and soft foods, esthetic satisfaction, sanitization effectiveness, necessity and effectiveness of dental treatment. The questionnaire is applied to a group of patients with renal impairment and, by comparison, to a group of patients without renal impairment. Results and conclusions. The final form of a pre-test questionnaire has been obtained. After applying the two groups of patients: were correct errors of form and were subsequently excluded sections with insufficient data, were optimize application time, readjusted methodology subjects inclusion/exclusion.

Introduction: End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is the last stage of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), where kidneys solely functions at 10 to 15 percent of their normal capacity. Efficacious treatment for ESRD is renal replacement therapies like dialysis and renal transplantation. Health related quality of life (HRQoL) is a neglected aspect of CKD care. Objective: To assess the acute complications and quality of life in hemodialysis patients. Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted for 6 months, 90 patients undergoing hemodialysis were enrolled in the study. Acute complications were assessed during and post dialysis and Health Related Quality of Life were analysed using KDQoL-36TM questionnaire. Result: Among patients assessed; majority of the patients belonged to the age group 30 to 60 years. Acute complications were evaluated and oedema was found in maximum patients followed by muscle cramps, loss of appetite, itching etc. Based on KDQoL-36TM questionnaire, physical functions was mainly affected due to the disease. Oedema and muscle cramps had an impact on the patients physical and mental functioning whereas educational status and addictions showed significance in all domains of KDQOL-36TM. Conclusion: CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis has an intense effect on HRQoL. A better understanding on QOL issues will enable providers to deliver better patient centred care and enhance the overall well-being of the patients.

The number of new chronic renal failure patients with hemodialysis therapy continues to increase from year to year in Indonesia. The number of new patients by 2015 is 21050 patients and the number of active patients is 30554 from 249 units of hemodialysis. The quality of life of hemodialysis patients has decreased in physical, psychological, social and environmental dimensions. Mind-body-spirit therapy (Concepts of Islam) focuses on the ability to manage the mindset and psychic that will affect the physical, attitudes and behavior of individuals in addressing their lives. Giving mind-body-spirit therapy to hemodialysis patients to improve quality of life, given for 4 weeks with the frequency twice a week. Pre- experimental study with one group pre-test post-test. The sample of 23 patients with hemodialysis therapy taken by purposive sampling. The WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was used in this study. Early screening on quality of life was taken in 23 patients (13 men and 10 women, mean age 51.5 years). Mind-body-spirit therapy (Islamic concept) consisted of Tausiyah (cognitive reconstruction), prayer, dhikr and drinking zam-zam water. The quality of life score was evaluated at week 5 after 4 weeks of treatments. All four dimensions of quality of life and quality of life were generally analyzed using Wilcoxon with significant results p <0.05. After the treatments, there is an increase in the quality of life in the physical, psychological, social, environmental, and general quality of life in hemodialysis patients. A mind-body-spirit therapy of 4 weeks is effective for improving the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure with hemodialysis therapy.

Chronic kidney disease is a global problem. Increasing evidence suggests that interstinal microflore is altered in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).The gut microbiome is a key driver of chronic inflammation. Many of uremic retention solutes are produced by dysbiotic intestinal microflore that may have a great impact on survival of the CKD patients. Our sample study consisted of 147 patients (78 female, 69 male age 18-75) undergoing hemodialysis in one dialysis center. Data were collected by the completion of a scpecially designed questionnaire. Patients received hemodialysis therapy for 4-5 hours sessions, three times weekly using polysulfone dialyzers. It was revealed significant alteration of the colonic bacterial flora in hemodialysis patients, with the excess of the uremic toxin producing bacteria. Also, there was strict correlation between gut dysbiosis and HD patent's QoL.
