The challenge of transforming an empty space into a gallery setting takes on the concept of place making. A place can be seen as space that has meaning when the setting considers space, surroundings, contents, the people and its activities. This research concentrates on investigating how visitors perceive the space by gauging their sense of place (sense of belonging towards a place). Galleries are currently facing changes in this technological era whereby multiple content and context, space and form, display modes, tools and devices are introduced in one single space. An observational study was done during the Foundation Studies Annual Exhibition held at Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University. The exhibition was curated and managed by staff and students of Foundation Year showcasing an array of design works. Analogue and digital presentations of paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and video works were displayed.. The outcome of this research will contribute towards a better design criteria of place making which affects individual behaviour, social values and attitudes. Characterizing types of visitor experience will improve the understanding of a better design criteria of place making, acceptance, understanding and satisfaction.

This article examines YouTube videos (primarily distributed by a user named Cecil Robert) that document so-called dead malls: unpopulated, unproductive, but not necessarily demolished consumerist sites that have proliferated in the wake of the 2008 recession. These works link digital images of mall interiors with pop-song remixes so as to re-create the experience of hearing a track while standing within the empty space; manipulating the songs’ audio frequencies heightens echo effects and fosters an impression of ghostly dislocation. This article argues that these videos locate a potentiality in abandoned mall spaces for the exploration of queer (non)relations. It suggests that the videos’ emphasis on lonely, unconsummated intimacies questions circuitous visions of the public sphere, participatory dynamics online, and the presumably conservative biopolitics (both at its height and in its memorialization) of mall architecture.

What is it to see something in a picture? Most accounts of pictorial experience—or, to use Richard Wollheim's term, ‘seeing-in’—seek, in various ways, to explain it in terms of how pictures somehow display the looks of things. However, some ‘things’ that we apparently see in pictures do not display any ‘look’. In particular, most pictures depict empty space, but empty space does not seem to display any ‘look’—at least not in the way material objects do. How do we see it in pictures, if we do? This chapter offers an account of pictorial perception of empty space by elaborating on Wollheim's claim that ‘seeing-in’ is permeable to thought. It ends by pointing to the aesthetic relevance of seeing—or not seeing—empty space in pictures.

Rejecting some old misconceptions (such as the “pulling” gravitation that ravaged classical physics) the Inertial-Gravitational theory supported by the Micro-quanta paradigm incorporates both the relativistic concepts of Mass - Momentum - Energy and the quantic Inertial Model of the particle mass. The flux of micro-quanta supports primarily the physical interaction that generates the Inertial forces defined by Newton. Scholars believing that Inertial forces originate from the properties of the empty space, do not pertain to the community of physicists believing on Newton’s Inertial Law. This great ancient physicist admitted he was unable to explicit the physical nature of his Law of Inertia (“Hypotheses non fingo”). However, marking the difference between “empty” and “absolute” space, he remained in his conviction that some unknown physical reality originates (in the absolute space) the inertial forces upon accelerated masses. At present, Micro-quanta paradigm describes the quantic objects that generate through collisions the physical inertial forces on particles. Since the flux of micro-quanta fills all space, there is no need to refer these collisions to some external System of reference. The relative velocity between quanta and particles comes out from the momentum that micro-quanta confer to particles. By this reason the Micro-quanta paradigm defines on pure dynamical bases the relativistic formalism that Special relativity derived from kinematics, so creating flaws that produced the well known paradoxes. To reveal the micro-quanta it's not necessary to devise particular experiments. The technique of the accelerometers has given many evidences of the physical reality guessed by Newton to explain inertial forces exerted on masses. Since the action of micro-quanta is always manifested in statistical terms, classical and relativistic physics allowed to describe Inertia and Gravitation without knowing the quantic nature of these phenomena. The micro-quanta Paradigm shows in particular the proportionality between cross section and mass (ratio Au) of all particles colliding with micro-quanta. To the aim of calculating the transmission across matter of micro-quanta and neutrinos (which show the same nature) the only unknown quantity is the numerical value of the ratio Au. Recalling that micro-quanta flux fills all space, it appears also interesting to search about neutrino collisions with micro-quanta flux as possible cause of the oscillations phenomena that occur during neutrino travels across the (so called) astronomic “empty” space. A quantitative indication on the ratio Ao is found in this paper from an experimental measurement of the solar neutrino flux interacting with the Earth mass in the course of the Borexino research carried out at Gran Sasso National Laboratory.

Abstract Maxwell equations and the equations of General Relativity are scale invariant in empty space. The presence of charge or currents in electromagnetism or the presence of matter in cosmology are preventing scale invariance. The question arises on how much matter within the horizon is necessary to kill scale invariance. The scale invariant field equation, first written by Dirac in 1973 and then revisited by Canuto et al. in 1977, provides the starting point to address this question. The resulting cosmological models show that, as soon as matter is present, the effects of scale invariance rapidly decline from ϱ = 0 to ϱc, and are forbidden for densities above ϱc. The absence of scale invariance in this case is consistent with considerations about causal connection. Below ϱc, scale invariance appears as an open possibility, which also depends on the occurrence of in the scale invariant context. In the present approach, we identify the scalar field of the empty space in the Scale Invariant Vacuum (SIV) context to the scalar field ϕ in the energy density $\varrho = \frac{1}{2} \dot{\varphi }^2 + V(\varphi )$ of the vacuum at inflation. This leads to some constraints on the potential. This identification also solves the so-called “cosmological constant problem”. In the framework of scale invariance, an inflation with a large number of e-foldings is also predicted. We conclude that scale invariance for models with densities below ϱc is an open possibility; the final answer may come from high redshift observations, where differences from the ΛCDM models appear.

Masyarakat Orang Asli Temiar merupakan komuniti orang yang telah lama wujud di negara kita.Kepelbagaian nilai budaya kehidupan masyarakat menjadi lambang jati diri dan kebanggaan masyarakatini. Oleh sebab itu, masyarakat Orang Asli Temiar ini sememangnya kaya dengan warisan ceritarakyat yang menjadi kebanggaan kepada masyarakat tersebut. Namun demikian, arus kepesatan,pembangunan dan kemajuan kemodenan menyebabkan khazanah cerita rakyat ini semakin dipinggirkanoleh masyarakat ini. Selain itu, mereka beranggapan bahawa medium lisan sebagai cerita mitos yangbercorak dongeng dan sekadar untuk berhibur semata-mata. Menerusi kajian ini, akan membincangkansatu objektif utama iaitu menganalisis nilai budaya dalam cerita rakyat masyarakat Orang Asli Temiar GuaMusang, Kelantan. Hal ini, dengan sendiri mewujudkan ruang ilmiah yang menuntut kepada pengkajianilmiah yang khusus. Sehubungan itu, pengkaji akan menggunakan kaedah kepustakaan dan kaedahkajian lapangan bagi memastikan kelancaran dalam menjalankan kajian tersebut. Selanjutnya, kajian iniakan menerapkan Teori Sastera Warisan yang dikemukakan oleh (A. Wahab Ali, 2005) sebagai gagasanuntuk memperkukuhkan dapatan kajian ini. Hasil dapatan kajian ini berhasil menemukan antara nilaibudaya yang selama ini menjadi landasan kepada ketamadunan masyarakat Orang Asli Temiar GuaMusang, Kelantan. Sementara itu, kemantapan elemen nilai budaya yang dihasilkan ini, dan diamalkandalam kehidupan seharian masyrakat ini, secara tidak lansung akan melahirkan kesan-kesan tersurat dantersirat kepada diri masyarakat komuniti ini. Kesimpulannya, cerita rakyat masyarakat Orang Asli Temiaradalah manifestasi kehidupan, adat kepercayaan dan lambang jati diri masyarakat ini.   Temiar indigenous people are a community are comunity of people living in the jugngle, marginalized andlangging in term of modernity country. There it can not be denied that this society is actually rich in diversecultures, fokstales and very high philosophy of thought. However, rapid development and modernity hasled to an increase in marginalized folklore Therefore open an empty space in scientifi c research whichrequired a specifi c research. This study aims to fi ll the empty space by examine the folktales of TemiarIndigenous community in Gua Musang, Kelantan. This study focused on three main objectives. First wasto show eff ect the folktales of Temiar Indigenous community in Gua Musang, Kelantan. Concomitantly, thisstudy used literature research and fi eld research. Furthermore, this study will apply the Sastera Warisantheory by Theory of Conceptual Keyword introduced by Mohamad Mokhtar Hassan in 2005 as the notionto strengthen this study. The realibility of cultural values hold by the Temiar Indigenous community and thepracticing of it in daily life infl uencing the Temiar Indigenous individually and collectively as community. Asconclusion, the folktales of Temiar Indigenous community can be said as manifestation of life, customsand beliefs, and sign of their identity.
