The educational integration of blind and visually impaired children has proven to be an upward trajectory in the process of upbringing, education, acquisition of knowledge and competencies in children with visual impairment. In addition to the benefits for the child's intellectual development, the integration process is of great importance in the social context. The education system has changed over time, both for visually impaired students and for their without visual impairment peers. Modern approaches and methods in the process of upbringing and education have made many means for work and learning for children who are blind and visually impaired inaccessible. We strive to adapt the environment for children with disabilities in order to fully include them and give them the opportunity to follow the most modern methods and use modern teaching aids in the process of upbringing and education. The aim of this study was to examine the orientation and mobility in children with visual impairment in relation to gender and chronological age. The study included a sample of 35 respondents with visual impairment, aged between 7 and 15. The research was conducted in Sarajevo at the “Centre for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth - Nedžarići” (Bosnian: Centar za slijepu i slabovidnu djecu i omladinu Nedžarići). The results of the research showed that there were statistically significant differences in relation to chronological age obtained on the variables “orientation indoors and in buildings” and “orientation in the yard”, and that there is a relation between orientation and mobility and chronological age on the variables “orientation indoors and in buildings” and “orientation in the yard”. Gender has no significant effect on the orientation and mobility abilities of visually impaired students.

Aim of this research was to get insight into mistakes that occur while blind and visually impaired students, and students with no visual disabilities, when writing by dictation. Respondents sample was consisted of three groups of students: blind (N = 51), visually impaired (N = 42) and students with no visual disabilities (N = 123). Respondents sample included students from first to fourth grade of elementary schools in Tuzla Canton as well as blind and visually impaired students from boarding schools and students from first to fifth grade in centers for blind and visually impaired children and youth, as well as population of blind and visually impaired students from first to fourth grade that are integrated into regular elementary schools in Tuzla Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Obtained results have shown that in variable groups for errors estimate in variables for writing by diction of words consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters, where blind and visually impaired students mostly made mistakes in form of inability to write dictated words, grammatical errors, errors in letters and syllables: relocation, leaving out, adding, separating words and concatenating them. Level of literal development is very important for preventive acting as well as timely rehabilitation.

the purpose of this study was to examine whether visually impaired students can build educational robots and program them if they receive adapted materials and instructions with guided instruction from well-trained educators in the fields of inclusive STEM Classrooms. Discussion of the technologies and our experimental approach is presented in this paper and validated through the continued successful effort with visually impaired students for two years of the program and specialists in the field of visual impairment and STEAM, we also validated our approach by performing experimental classes for students with different visual impairments and ages. The results indicated that the approach used by BASAER team was successful in enabling the blind and visually impaired students to build and program educational robotics and to participate effectively in national and international STEAM programs and competitions, with some limitations and Challenges encountered and explored during this research. The results from this study will be used to suggest a fully adapted system to support full inclusion for blind and visually impaired students in educational robots in STEAM context and to promote the adoption of this study and similar studies toward Inclusive STEM Classrooms.

The text addresses issues related to the psychological and pedagogical diagnosis of children with visual impairment, which plays a very important role in programming, as well as in achieving the maximum results of revalidation or rehabilitation treatments undertaken on the basis of the diagnosis made. The authors present the results of research aimed at learning the process of diagnosing blind and visually impaired children in a public psychological and pedagogical counseling center conducted among 21 people involved in the diagnosis of blind and visually impaired children employed in facilities located in the Śląskie Voivodeship.

Background. The article presents the results of a dental examination of 68 schoolchildren of 12-15 years with visual impairment. Objectives ― to study the dental status of blind and visually impaired children in the period of permanent bite, the necessity of sanation, the level of dental care. Methods. The prevalence and intensity of dental caries, dental-maxillary anomalies, soft tissue anomalies, functional disorders of the dental-maxillary system, the hygienic condition of the oral cavity, the necessity of sanation, the level of dental care of the examined schoolchildren were estimated. For determination of the intensity of dental caries the KPU index was used. The study of the structure of this index made it possible to determine the necessity of sanation of the oral cavity, the level of caries intensity (PEC index, Leus PA, 1990) and the level of dental care (USP index, Leus PA, 1988) in this category of schoolchildren. The hygienic condition of the oral cavity was estimated by the Green-Vermillion Index. The examination results were put down into the children’s registration cards of dental status (WHO, 2013). Results. During the dental examination, a high prevalence and intensity of dental caries, poor oral hygiene among schoolchildren aged 12-15 years with visual impairment were found. The majority of the examined children suffered from dental-maxillary anomalies, anomalies of soft tissues, dysfunction of the dental-maxillary system. Anomalies of separete teeth had the largest percentage among the tooth-jaw anomalies. As a result of the examination, a high necessity of sanation and an insufficient level of dental care were established. Conclusions. The results of this work indicate the necessity of the planning measures for the prevention and treatment of dental diseases of children with this pathology.

The aim of this study was to examine the differences in tactile perception in children with and without visual impairment. The study covered 30 examinees with visual impairment and 30 subjects without visual impairment aged 7-13, both sexes. The research was conducted in the "First Elementary School" ("Prva osnovna škola") in Zavidovići and the "Centre for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth" Nedžarići - Sarajevo. The results of the study showed that children with visual impairment have a better developed tactile perception in their entirety, compared to children with no visual impairment, and that there is a statistically significant difference in the individual variables of tactile perception: " Two-Point Discrimination" (right), " Two-Point Discrimination R "(left) and" Stereognosis "(left).

After defining blindness and visual impairment, and noting that either may be present congenitally or occur later in life (adventitious), the authors identify three interdependent levels which descriptions of blind and visually impaired persons should include—the physiological, the personal, and the social. Needs shared by all such individuals include assistance in mobility, communication, information collection, physical expression, and psychological functioning. This is followed by detailed discussions of the needs of congenitally blind, adventitiously blind, congenitally visually impaired, and adventitiously visually impaired persons on each of the three levels of analysis at various ages throughout life or at various periods following the onset of the handicap.
