The main purpose of this paper is to examine the different types of factors in the African business context and in particular in the context of Burkina Faso, that can help companies to be successful. It is about the identification of the key successful factor among some main factors such as adaptation, efficiency and strategic positioning The data is from a survey on entrepreneurs in Burkina Faso, who attended the Africallia business meeting in 2018. The results show that the adaptation to the context is one of the main factors for business success. Thus, the suggestion is that companies should adapt to the African context in order to improve their profit, performance and thus gain a tremendous success. Compared to various other types of entrepreneurships, high-tech entrepreneurships are the most difficult to succeed in, but the rewards can be great. For startups, identifying customers and markets are as important as developing a product. Given the limited scale of domestic markets, if a high-tech startup wants to become a unicorn company, it goes without saying that entering international markets is necessary. This study considers high-tech startups as the research object. Through literature review, it first summarizes five major dimensions and 15 criteria. Then, it conducts the preliminary questionnaire survey on the effects of firm competencies and industry environment on internationally successful high-tech startups using expert questionnaires. The questionnaire survey was also used to establish the hierarchical structure and key success factors (KSF). Subsequently, the study conducted survey and statistical analysis of the questionnaire data using analytic hierarchy process (AHP). By assessing the dimensions and summarizing the key success factors, this study can serve as a useful reference for future startups. Existing startups can examine their own conditions and opportunities to reconsider their strategic positioning. Additionally, the findings of this study can support high-tech startups to enable them to concentrate on their core competencies in order to strengthen competitiveness and likelihood of success in international markets.

This study highlights the impact of key success factor on profit performance. The recommendations should be used as guideline for Malian enterprises.The quantitative and qualitative methods, primary data collected by questionnaires and interviews are used. Secondary data are gotten from articles, journals and online resources. The research framework was analyzed using multiple regression models. Hypothesis test is adopted to accept or reject the hypothesis formulated in this research. Excel software have been used to perform the test, the measures of p-value, coefficient of determination, the adjusted coefficient of determination, the degree of freedom, the coefficient of Fisher and its critical value.The results suggest that key success factors have significant impact on profit performance. Key success factors have a positive impact on profit performance is valid hypothesis. This study makes several contributions to research and theory of key success factors and profit performance. A greater understanding of key success factors and profit performance provided further investigation of the relationship between of key success factors and profit performance. This model can be used by other enterprise to increase its profit performance. Through the use of this model, enterprise can quickly identify areas requiring urgent improvement.SODEMA industry needs improvement in chain communication systems, manufacturing techniques, and transportation capabilities as alternatives to investing in large inventories and production capacities. The theoretical model developed in this study is applicable in practice.

The purpose of this study is to identify the key success factors that affect Thai entrepreneurial competitiveness in logistics business operations. Four main parameters and twelve variables were first identified from both a literature review and observations from the Thai context, and were then explored. The methodology of this research began with a literature review. Fifty entrepreneurs in the logistics sector then filled out questionnaires, which were analyzed using a mean and standard deviation (SD) model. Results showed that the responses were in the agreed level in which the mean=2.89 and SD=0.35. The mean of the variable Thailand Infrastructure is still incomplete, was 2.94. The mean of Fuel Prices still Continuously Increase, was 2.90; and the mean of Thai Entrepreneurs Mainly Use Road Transportation was 2.84. Responses showed the mean of the variable Thai Entrepreneurs Have Too Little Understanding of Effective Transportation System, was 3.04. The mean of Thai Entrepreneurs Lack Knowledge and Skills about Just-in-Time Concept, was 2.79; and the mean of the Logistics Management is Separately Managed, the Collaboration in each Department is Low, was 2.58. The mean of Domestic Laws and Regulations are not Competitive was 3.03. The mean of Cross-border Trade and Regulations need to be revamped, was 2.94; and the mean of International Transportation Rules must be changed, was 2.73. The mean of Thai Logistics Workforce Lacks Logistics Management Skills and Experience, was 3.45. The mean of Thai Logistics Workforce Productivity is Lower than Entrepreneurs’ Expectations, was 2.97 and the mean of English Proficiency of Thai Logistics Workforce is Low, was 2.73. Thai entrepreneurs need to improve their competitiveness by focusing on the key factors that affect logistics business success, such as figuring out how to cut operational management costs, improve ineffective inventory management and improve the quality of workforce skills and knowledge. Transportation costs are still high, and since these costs are influenced by Government policies, Thai entrepreneurs need the Government to establish plans for infrastructure investment, such as by focusing on rail transportation rather than relying on roads. This would help entrepreneurs to enhance their competitiveness and provide excellent customer service. Effective inventory management requires both upstream and downstream development because inventory management involves more than just one function, such as the purchasing department or workin-process responsibilities, so all functions should work together. Inventory management success requires good collaboration with suppliers, transportation providers, distributors, and customers.

Purpose and/or objectives: The purpose of this article was to segment festival visitors at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) based on their travel motives and their ratings of the Key Success Factors (KSFs) in terms of their festival experience. Problem investigated: Previous research has indicated that the success and sustainability of an arts festival is dependent on the number of tickets sold for shows and productions during the festival. Therefore, success depends on attracting visitors who attend and buy tickets for different types of shows and productions. To achieve this festival organisers need to understand the aspects that visitors regard as satisfying their needs and which create a unique festival experience. Methodology: A survey was conducted using a questionnaire at the festival. A total of 450 questionnaires were administered and 443 completed questionnaires were included in the analysis. Factor analysis was used to identify visitors' motivation to travel to and attend the KKNK. Cluster analysis followed the factor analysis to segments visitors based their identified travel motives. ANOVAs, Chi-square tests, two-way frequency tables and Tukey's multiple comparisons were conducted to investigate and determine any significant differences between the clusters based on demographics, behavioural variables and KSFs. Analysis and interpretation of findings: The findings of this study revealed that the travel motives that are important to visitors to the arts festival are: Festival Attractiveness, Novelty and Escape and Socialisation. Furthermore, different markets have different travel motives, clustered as Escapists, Festival Junkies and Culture Seekers. These different clusters have different tastes and needs, for example the Culture Seekers are more interested in Rock shows and all three clusters enjoy Drama, Music Theatre and Cabaret and Comedy shows and productions. Different markets also focus on different KSFs that influence their experience of the event. Escapists rated Venues and Shows and Stalls as the most important KSF in managing the festival, whereas Festival Junkies and Culture Seekers rated Safety and Personnel and Shows and Stalls as the most important. The value of the research: This research provides several insights. First, travel motives are a good base or foundation for segmenting visitors to arts festivals. Hence, it is important to have an in-depth understanding of why visitors attend the arts festival and what they expect to experience at the arts festival. Second, this research makes a contribution to the literature around travel motives, market segmentation, festival management and need satisfaction. Finally, the results show that festival organisers cannot base their planning on a general evaluation of visitors, but that different markets have different needs and also regard different factors are important to their overall experience. Conclusion: This research can help festival organisers understand what visitors want to experience at an arts festival and how they want to experience it.

Physical asset management (PAM) is an area with a growing role in the asset intensive industry. The purpose of this chapter is to emphasize the role of maintenance within PAM. For this purpose, a case study was conducted in a Slovenian organization. The results show that maintenance is recognized as part of PAM activities in the observed paper mill company. Furthermore, the results of the study show that the strongest involvement of maintenance in PAM-related tasks was found in the creation and maintenance of the maintenance management system and the least in the definition of key success factors for the asset system and the design of the asset system. In addition, the case study uncovered two main factors that have the greatest impact on the involvement of maintenance and its activities within PAM, namely leadership and knowledge management. This study is one of the few studies that aims to explore the role of maintenance within PAM, considering all life cycle phases of the asset system.

Healthcare business in Thailand has been hugely popular among foreigners and retired persons especially. The research presented here focuses on the question “How to become and remain a healthcare entrepreneur?”. The objectives have been formulated in the following way: 1) to study the success factors of the healthcare business in Thailand, and 2) to analyze the key success factors of entrepreneurs in this field. The population of the study is 6,717 people. The sample group has been 315 people, the stratified random sampling has been applied. The key success factors include education, investment plan, place/location, nurses, supporting staff and strategy. Education has got the highest score - 0.75. Most entrepreneurs have graduated with a bachelor degree or higher. The second comes strategy with the score of 0.636. As this business is quite famous, the competitors apply various strategies to get more customers, both local and international. Information technology and 4Ps are used for campaigns, for example. The lowest score in terms of business success impact got the investment plan with 0.528.

Strategic positioning fosters the firm performance in an ecosystem. Companies in an innovation ecosystem use strategic tools to connect different business units. The systematic literature review was used to search for the articles used in this review. Google Scholar search engine was employed to filter the references of each selected paper. In total, 41 papers published in journal and conference proceedings have been used for the review. The review shows that companies challenges as shortage of willingness to share insights and intellectual property, confusion over management methods need to create sustainable value, lack of coordination within the ecosystem, lack of an innovation plan, failure to pay attention to a new set of risks and costs associated with network-types of practices when innovating through an ecosystem. The review highlights specific key success factors such as management commitment, consumer value, and value chains linked to customers’ expectations, and organisational culture that supports change processes, well-articulated goals, timelines and milestones, and embracing risk-taking and understanding the nature of risks in collaborative networks. Furthermore, the review also identified the balanced scorecard multiplying risks and value blueprint as strategic tools used to evaluate the performance of companies within an ecosystem. The study concludes that managers should evaluate the ecosystems’ ability and the potential of their firms to survive.

This paper presents an intensive procedure used for the decontamination of the soils, which were radioactively contaminated by uranium, due to the occurrence of some antropic accidents, in order to limit the area�s pollution. The procedure used for the chemical decontamination of the polluted soils was the washing one and the decontamination degree is comparatively presented depending on the ultrasounds� presence and absence. The lab testes were performed on five types of soils , which were characterized from the granulometric, structural and chemical composition viewpoint, all these aspects represent the main factors, which determine the applied decontamination procedure�s limits and performances correlated with its utilization costs. The decontamination procedure�s kinetics for each type of soils was analyzed, using successively three different types of reagents (water, 0.1 M sulphuric acid solution and chloro-sodic solution � 100 g/L sodium chloride + 10 g/L sodium carbonate in water) for a solid to liquid ratio of 1:2, during 2 h, at a temperature of 20oC in a mechanic stirring system respectively in ultrasounds field. It was observed that the decontamination degree increases with up to 15-20% in case of the ultrasound field utilization comparing to the first case.
