The existence of transgender people in the community cannot be denied. Some of them also have achievements both nationally and internationally. Some transgender individuals have strong self-esteem that persist in the midst of a society where the majority ignore and even reject them. Others experience feelings of grief and even despair until suicide due to severe rejection especially from the family. The church as a family home that must love and protect each member of the congregation must not be favoritism. The church needs to reach out to transgender people through pastoral care. Counseling services also need to be opened for them so that mental recovery can occur.

In our society the norm is thatevery adult should get married one day. This could imply thatunmarried people do not feel welcome either in the community or the church. They may feel neglected or even like outcasts. It is a pity that the church, which also finds itself within the community, is composed of people who still continue to havethe kind of attitude that excludes singles, even inside church circles. While churches run programmes that have a strong emphasis on marriage and family life, nothing is being doneto address singleness and its related problems. As a result, singles often regard themselves as unimportant and worthless. This article is aimed at un-covering the role of the church through its leadership (pastors in particular) to assist and helpto redeem the damaged image and self-esteem that singles may have in their respective communities and churches. The article focuses on singles in the African church and society. It is crucial that a church programme of care and counselling be structured in order to minister to persons who are separated, divorced, widowed or never married for whatever reason.

Abstract: Families represent a priority sector for the Church, one that deserves its best efforts and a thoroughly organized Family Pastoral. Redoubled attention is paid to families in “special situations” in whose benefit the Church is called to devote an even livelier part of its concern. Moral and pastoral care will start by taking into consideration the “real situation” and then will take a progressive path, opening new fronts, indicating possibilities, creating conditions, avoiding degradation, in the Good Shepherd’s type of pastoral effort. In this text, we will examine briefly some of the most common special cases in the family pastoral.

The migration issues make an extensive and multifaceted subject in John Paul’s teaching. Expressions of these are, among other things, his Messages for the World Migration Day. In twenty-six years of his pontificate the Pope pointed out the problems of modern migration, which concern individual aspects of life of the Church and of the World. In his Messages the Pope also undertakes canonical issues of migration and shows us the ways to solve them. The Pope’s leading item is a statement that all migrants need special concern on account of their specific situation. It is a duty of the Church to provide a pastoral care for them. Pope John Paul II always defends human rights especially a human right to emigrate and he supports migrants’ right to maintain their own identity. The Pope pays special attention to their rights to form the family and to maintain the family rights.

The nature of children’s development is greatly influenced by the environmental conditions in which they are brought up. The amount of social stimulation which they receive is of particular importance, and even if physical conditions are adequate, an unstimulating environment which provides with little opportunity or need to experiment or solve problems will result in low level of achievement. Perhaps the most important aspect of the child’s social development is beyond the reach of the teacher. For the first very important aspect of the child’s development lies in the home. Genetic endowment and cultural level of the family, coupled with the actual physical conditions of the home will have decisive effect on the child’s development and will continue to influence him throughout his school life. These factors are inaccessible to be influenced by the teacher but it is as well for him to have them in mind in his dealings with pupils. In addition, he will need to know how he may most effectively change his pupils along the lives he considers to be the most appropriate. That is, he will seek out the most efficient ways of getting pupils learn for productive life in future. The topic under review will be approached from various fronts which include; The Sociological and Philosophical models; role of the school; Learners’ responsibility; role of the teacher; discipline and learner control; role of the parent; guidance and counseling services and conclusion.
