The objective of the study is to explore on how Sundanese local wisdoms are implemented in civic studies in reinforcing students’ characters in SMP Negeri 3 Purwakarta (Junior high school). Qualitative approach is employed in this study by conducting case study as a method of data gathering. The results of the study indicate that the learning process has been implemented ordinarily through the seven-day at school program. Despite the fact that local wisdoms are not specifically embedded into the syllabus, the local wisdoms are integrated in the daily learning process. In practice, teachers are expected to be able to give insights to their students relted to the Sundanese local wisdom. The implementation is carried out in forms of: 1) Civic studies classes; 2) extracuricullar activities; 3) having meals together, and so on. Those activities are considered as a leading way to reinforce the students’ character.

This study was a case study which aimed to analyze the types of questions used by an English teacher, the purposes of questions asked by the teacher, and the strategy used to cope with non-responded questions. The subject of this study was an English teacher who taught seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Singaraja which is located in Singaraja, Buleleng regency, Bali, Indonesia. The data were collected through observation, interview, and video recording. The result of the analysis showed that from 241 questions, the teacher more frequently asked convergent, closed, and display questions rather than divergent, open, and referential questions. Procedural questions were also found. The teacher’s questions served several purposes such as to check students’ knowledge and understanding, to attract students’ activeness, to develop students’ interest and curiosity, and to stimulate students in stating information. It was also found that the teacher used seven strategies to cope with non-responded questions. This study suggested the teacher to balance the number of convergent, closed, and display with divergent, open, and referential questions to be used during teaching and learning process. In addition, the teacher should know more about the strategies for non-responded questions and the proper way to use those strategies to make the teaching and learning process runs smoothly.

The main task of the school supervisor is to supervise the school for which he is responsible. Supervision in this context includes monitoring, supervision, evaluation, reporting, and taking the necessary follow-up steps. This School Action Research was carried out in the fostered junior high school of Kabupaten Rokan Hilir under the supervision of the researcher. This was chosen because it supported the task of school supervisors to find out and try to improve teachers’ competence in the learning process. The stages conducted in school action research were: planning/preparing for action, implementing actions, observing and interpreting, data analysis and reflection. From the results of the study, it was known that the application of the discussion method improved teachers’ understanding in the process of learning activities. By using the discussion method, teachers’ participation become more active, meaning that it tended to be positive in following the process provided by the facilitator as well as in conducting discussions within and between groups. This success was caused by using the discussion method; teachers exchanged experiences, information with one another. In other words, discussion techniques increased cooperation between teachers through the exchange of opinions or information, so that they were more active.

This writing intend for present about moral education in islamic junior high school Probolinggo in facing the rational hedonism which trends. Along with a lot of moral decadence, it requires integrative collaboration of all components both in schools, family and community to create an environment that is able to familiariza the behavior of children. This research use a qualitative approach and a descriptive method of case study type, with a research site in islamic junior high scholl Probolinggo. The result of this study indicate that Islamic Junior High School Probolinggo is in the stage of forming the morals of students. So that this scholl is committed to appliying the moral education perspective of al-ghozali in developing the behavior of student to become noble students. Formally in the learning process several methods can be considered according to the circumstances that surround it, namely: exemplary method, habituation method, advice method, and story method. The aim of moral education according to Al-Ghazali is merely to gain the pleasure of God. Indentical to the main happiness of ukhrawi and wordly happiness.

Students’ achievement in writing descriptive text is very low, in this study Think Pair Share (TPS) was applied to solve the problem. Action research in conducted for the result and the technique to collect the data, qualitative and quantitative are applied in this research. The subject of this research is grade VIII in Junior High School (SMP Bilang Huluh) Rantau Parapat. In the first evaluation (66,4375) increased to the mean of second evaluation (78,125) and the mean of third evaluation (87,5625). Observation result showed that the students gave their good attitudes and responses during teaching and learning process by applying the application of TPS (Think Pair Share) method. Questionnaire and interview report showed that students agree that the application of TPS (Think Pair Share) method had helped them in writing descriptive text. It can be conclude that the students’ achievement is improved when thay are tought through TPS Method. Key Words: Achievement, Writing, Descriptive Text and Think Pair Share

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR).  It aimed at improving students’ speaking skill of the 7th grade at SMP N 1 Kotabunan East Bolaang Mongondow through the snowball throwing technique. The subjects of this research were 31 students consisted of 21 girls and 10 boys. But, only 25 students who attended the classroom. In this research, the researchers used mixed method (quantitative and qualitative design). To collect the data, the researchers utilized by using tests and observation. The researchers conducted the tests by asking the questions that related to the lessons that students had previously learnt.  Meanwhile, observation was accomplished in order to observe qualitatively about the students’ learning process by the technique. The results showed that, in the first cycle, the mean score was 39.84 with percentage of students who passed the test was 52%. While in the second cycle, the mean score of post-test was 72.16 with the percentage of students who passed the test was 100%. According to the observation in the first cycle, it revealed that students could not carry out the technique properly and some students were not good in speaking such as having bad grammar and pronunciation. Furthermore, the researchers used the papers to construct as a ball in conducting the snowball throwing technique. In the second cycle, it indicated that the students were going better by carrying out the following technique. Based on the indication of the result, it can be said that there was an improvement of students’ speaking skill through snowball throwing technique of the 7th grade at SMP N 1 Kotabunan East Bolang Mongondow.

Objective of this research is to explain the use of code switching by English teachers in classroom during learning activities. This research uses qualitative approach with a case study design, the research subject is an English teacher at Islam Tirtayasa Junior High School. Collecting data in this study using data display, data reduction and drawing conclusions. The focus of this research is the use of code switching by English teachers in online classroom during the learning process and the sub focus of the research is the types of code switching used by the English teacher and the reasons for using code switching. The result of this research is to find the type of code switching usage and the reasons for using code switching by English teachers in online classroom during the learning process. The conclusion is there are three types of code switching used by English teachers during the learning process in the classroom. Namely: First, inter sentential code switching, which is 64 times. Second, Intra-sentential code switching 31 times. Third, Tag switching 10 times. Then some reasons why English teachers use code switching, namely: First, Talking about Particular topic. Second is Interjection. Third is Repitition for Clarification. Fourth is Expressing for Group Identity

This study aims to describe the students’ interests and perceptions in learning simple past tense by using the TGT (Team Game Tournament) technique. The situation in the teaching-learning process at an Islamic Junior High School in Pontianak has shown that there are still many problems that must be addressed, concerning English grammar. The researcher has encountered several problems such as student’s reluctance to participate, lack of interest, motivation, and attention in the classroom. The researcher employed Classroom Action Research as a means to solve the problems. The findings presented information regarding the use of TGT that could serve as a beneficial alternative in teaching grammar, particularly the simple past tense. Furthermore, the information will provide the teacher with useful insights on ways to teach and to motivate their students in the classroom.
