Abstract. Ethernet connections, which are widely used in many computer networks, can suffer from electromagnetic interference. Typically, a degradation of the data transmission rate can be perceived as electromagnetic disturbances lead to corruption of data frames on the network media. In this paper a software-based measuring method is presented, which allows a direct assessment of the effects on the link layer. The results can directly be linked to the physical interaction without the influence of software related effects on higher protocol layers. This gives a simple tool for a quantitative analysis of the disturbance of an Ethernet connection based on time domain data. An example is shown, how the data can be used for further investigation of mechanisms and detection of intentional electromagnetic attacks.

Road markings quality control implies conducting several different tests, of which the most significant are visibility tests comprising daytime and night-time visibility measurements by applying the static or the dynamic measuring method. Although the dynamic test method allows measuring the visibility along the entire road section and thus provides a more complete and objective evaluation of road markings quality compared to the static method, it does not measure daytime visibility, for which both the European and the national directives define the minimum requirements. The purpose of this paper is to examine the correlation between daytime and night-time visibility based on static measurements conducted on state roads in the Republic of Croatia. The correlation analysis determined that the strength of relationship between daytime and night-time visibility, is relatively weak. Despite being relatively weak, the relationship still exists, which was the reason for conducting a further analysis. In the analysis, a unique coefficient was obtained through the ratio of retroreflection value and daytime visibility value for all the measurements. The unique coefficient was basis for development of a model that will be able to calculate the daytime visibility based on the results of the dynamic measurements of road markings night-time visibility. The authors evaluated the model with a t-test and concluded that the accuracy of the model is statistically satisfactory.

In recent years, electromagnetic interference (EMI) of new energy vehicles, including difference mode symmetric interference and common mode asymmetry interference, has attracted the attention of many scholars. So far, EMI tests for new energy vehicles under steady conditions cannot reflect the actual EMI of the running vehicle. The results of EMI test methods based on fast Fourier transform (FFT) under dynamic conditions have worse frequency resolutions, and frequency/amplitude accuracy has low precision. Therefore, this paper proposes an EMI test method based on FFT and dot frequency scanning (DFS) for new energy vehicles under dynamic conditions. The identification method for accelerating, sliding, and braking conditions is studied. A comprehensive EMI key evaluation index system for new energy vehicles is built, including characteristic points with maximum amplitude, area, ratio, and density coefficients for high-amplitude characteristic points. Among them, the maximum amplitude is an index to evaluate extreme values. The ratio of high-amplitude characteristic points is a comprehensive index to evaluate the overall region. The density coefficient is an index to evaluate the local region. Finally, this method is applied to three vehicles. With the same instruments, by reducing the FFT frequency span, the frequency resolution and frequency accuracy increase. The results indicate that the EMI of new energy vehicles can be tested under dynamic conditions with high accuracy according to the operable evaluation indexes.
