The purpose of this study is to determine the Management of Digital Libraries at SMAN 4 Kendari Library. Data analysis techniques used a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The location of this research is at the SMAN 4 Kendari School Library located on Jln. Ahmad Yani No.13, Bende Sub-District, Kadia District, Kendari City / District, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The results of this study indicate that the Management of Digital Libraries at SMA Negeri 4 Kendari, namely the Planning of library at SMA Negeri 4 Kendari has been very well thought out, starting in the application of digital libraries, backgrounds to the preparation of work programs, with the existence of a digital library library head and all staff when This has completed the digital collection making it easier for users to find manuals to help teaching and learning activities and assist the learning process. collection management and facility management is adequate where users can utilize digital libraries in the SMA Negeri 4 Kendari library whenever needed. but the HR itself is not maximized where human resources are still lacking, especially librarians who have talent in the computer field. Suggestions for the library of SMA Negeri 4 Kendari namely: digital libraries are expected in the management of human resources to be more noticed especially adding librarians who have talent in the field of technology so that digital services become more advanced for the future.Keywords: Library, Library Management, Digital Library.

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan pada ketertarikan peneliti terkait dengan pengelolaan di UPT perpustakaan UNY, yaitu belum adanya penelitian pengelolaan perpustakaan digital yang dijalankan di UPT perpustakaan UNY. UPT perpustakaan UNY sudah ada layanan perpustakaan digital. Untuk mengetahui pengelolaan perpustakaan digital, maka peneliti bermaksud mengadakan penelitian untuk dapat mengetahui implemantasi perpustakaan digital yang dijalankan di UPT perpustakaan UNY. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: (1) Mengetahui kesiapan hardware dalam mendukung perpustakaan digital di UPT Perpustakaan UNY; (2) mengetahui kesiapan software dalam mendukung perpustakaan digital di UPT Perpustakaan UNY; (3) mengetahui kesiapan SDM (Pustakawan, Teknisi, dan lain-lain) pendukung perpustakaan digital di UPT Perpustakaan UNY; dan (4) mengetahui proses pengolahan data yang diperlukan dan dimana data tersebut diperoleh guna perpustakaan digital di UPT Perpustakaan UNY. Hasil penelitian ini adalah hardware untuk mendukung operasional perpustakaan digital terdiri dari berbagai macam komputer dengan terpasang pada jaringan WAN dan LAN. Software dalam mendukung perpustakaan digital di UPT Perpustakaan UNY didukung oleh perangkat lunak komputer dengan versi yang baru sehingga dapat mendukung pelaksanaan perpustakan on-line. Brainware (Pustakawan, Teknisi, dan lain-lain) pendukung perpustakaan digital sudah memiliki keterampilan dalam menjalankan aplikasi yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan perpustakaan digital karena sudah mendapatkan pelatihan. The purpose of this study to: (1) Determine hardware readiness to support digital libraries in the Library Unit YSU; (2) Determine the readiness of software to support digital libraries in the Library Unit YSU; (3) Determine the readiness of human resources (librarians, technicians, etc.) digital library advocates in YSU Library Unit; and (4) Determine the data processing is required and where the data is obtained for digital libraries in the Library Unit YSU. The result of this research is the hardware to support the operation of the digital library consists of a variety of computer is on a network with WAN and LAN. Software in supporting digital libraries in the Library Unit YSU supported by computer software with the new version so that it can support the implementation of on-line library.Brainware (librarians, technicians, etc.) digital library advocates already have skills in running applications that are used in the implementation of digital libraries because they get training. This paper provides an overview of a case study research that investigated the use of Digital Library (DL) resources in two undergraduate classes and explored faculty and students' perceptions of educational digital libraries. This study found that students and faculty use academic DLs primarily for textual resources, but turn to the open Web for visual and multimedia resources. The study participants did not perceive academic libraries as a useful source of digital images and used search engines when searching for visual resources. The limited use of digital library resources for teaching and learning is associated with perceptions of usefulness and ease of use, especially if considered in a broader information landscape, in conjunction with other library information systems, and in the context of Web resources. The limited use of digital libraries is related to the following perceptions: 1) Library systems are not viewed as user-friendly, which in turn discourages potential users from trying DLs provided by academic libraries; 2) Academic libraries are perceived as places of primarily textual resources; perceptions of usefulness, especially in regard to relevance of content, coverage, and currency, seem to have a negative effect on user intention to use DLs, especially when searching for visual materials.

This chapter aims to discuss the development of digital libraries in Pakistan. It gives an account of the digital transformation taking place in the country and reviews a few digital library initiatives. It discusses a number of issues associated with the development of digital libraries with specific reference to Pakistan. The major issues appear are as follows: misconception about digital libraries; lack of technological applications; lack of human resources with needed skills; copyright and publishing; cultural divide; digital divide, and insufficient financial support. The authors believe that understanding the underlying issues will not only accelerate the development of DL in Pakistan, but also in other developing countries with more or less common environment.

One source of learning in universities is a digital library. In the era of industry 4.0, most universities have implemented digital libraries in supporting the learning process. However, the reality shows that digital library management is still ineffective. Therefore, the implementation of digital libraries needs to be evaluated for determining the digital library effectiveness used as learning resources in supporting the learning process in universities. Many evaluation tools are used to evaluate the effectiveness of digital libraries but have not provided accurate recommendation results to support decision-making. This research presents an innovation in the form of an evaluation tool that can be used to evaluate the digital library effectiveness in universities. That evaluation tool is called the Alkin-WP-based digital library evaluation software. This software is a desktop platform that contains aspects of measuring the digital library effectiveness by referring to the components of the Alkin evaluation model and the WP (Weighted Product) method. This research aimed to show the effectiveness level of the utilization of Alkin-WP-based digital library evaluation software. This research method was R & D (Research & Development) which refers to the ten development stages of the Borg and Gall model. In this research, development was focused only on a few stages, included: usage trials, final product revision, dissemination, and implementation. The subjects involved in assessing the implementation/utilization of the Alkin-WP-based digital library evaluation software were 35 people, in the usage trials were six people, in product revision were three people, and at the stage of dissemination were 15 people. The tools used to collect data were questionnaires and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative. The effectiveness level of utilizing the Alkin-WP-based digital library evaluation software was 88.34%. It showed that the evaluation software had effective. The impact of this research results on the scientific field of educational evaluation is being able to show the existence of a new evaluation tool based on educational evaluation and artificial intelligence. Generally, in Indonesia read the students in school remains low interest, facts proved of research results in some place SDN in the territory of the central Jakarta (2017) have that the interest publication low student, this have consequence to the poor awareness of the needs of reading consciousness children of school age distinguished, not yet considers read the needs of primer. Any research to see low interest read in schools easily to be in measuring instruments of the list visits students to the school library still very skimpy meal. Unisco on 2012 report that the interest of the Indonesia punctuation just reaching figures 0,001, does that mean every 1000 people there is only one person has an interest punctuation. Compare with everage index read developed countries residing in between figures 0,45 up to 0,62. Around the countries in the region Asiatic the spirit of spirit read the Indonesia pertained skimpy meal. Reality of this will happen when the apprehensive on the child’s and teenagers who will be next generation. The Low of interest will read influence on the quality of human resources lower when compared with other nation in the world. The management of the school’s library in optimize contribution, human material and the budget to achieve the purpose of libraries are still having various challenge, could not walk, so as expected . The challenge the derived from two aspect, namely, the aspect structural, in the sense of less attention from the school management obtains and aspects of technical urgently required by the school library, as human resources, means of infrastructure, and the budgeting.

Nowadays, teaching and learning computer science is done at various ages, for several topics and for different reasons. Depending on the country, it can start from the primary school and it finishes at the higher education level, or even later if we take continuing education into consideration. Topics to be learned can be as simple as binary representation or basic programming concepts that can be taught to children to introduce them to computer science. It is also possible to teach and learn advanced data structures or algorithms optimisation, which are interesting skills for Olympiad in Informatics contestants, for example. Recently, there is a prominent number of websites and applications that have been created to help the teaching and learning of many informatics concepts. This paper presents a platform that has been designed to browse a database of resources that can be used to teach or to learn computer science. This digital library contains freely accessible resources and can be searched efficiently thanks to the proposed structure for its content. It has been designed to maximise the user’s experience and to fit modern models of digital libraries. For each resource, a detailed information sheet has been produced, containing among other things pedagogical information to help teachers and learners use the resources as best as possible. This platform can also be used to train candidates to Olympiad in Informatics and other related and similar competitions.

This paper presents findings from a case study investigating secondary school teachers’ understanding of the term digital libraries and their relationship with learning. The study addresses two research questions: (1) How do teachers conceptualize digital libraries, their relevance and issues relating to their integration into the curriculum? and (2) What are the teachers’ perceptions of the initiative to develop a collaborative digital library for school projects? A series of interviews were carried out on six History subject teachers which provide a detailed and succinct information on their understanding of digital libraries, their knowledge and use of the Internet and digital resources, their perception of the possible impact of digital resources on teaching and learning, the benefits teachers seen in digital resources and the problems they have in using them. It also offers important insights on History subject teachers’ perceptions of the initiative to develop a collaborative digital library for History projects, perception of its potential use, pointing out the conditions that facilitate its use in the classrooms. The paper also points out the relevance of digital libraries to the History curriculum which will make readers understand that using the technology is relevant to the teaching of all subjects.

Berdasarkan perkembangan teknologi informasi, pengelolaan perpustakaan tidak hanya bersumber pada koleksi cetak. Perkembangan perpustakaan dewasa ini memperlihatkan bahwa koleksi elektronik menjadi sumber daya utama dalam membangun perpustakaan, terutama perpustakaan digital. Perpustakaan digital memiliki karakteristik tersendiri dalam sistem pengelolaan dan pelayanan pengguna. Artinya perpustakaan digital tidak lagi mengandalkan besarnya jumlah koleksi yang dimiliki, tetap berapa banyak akses database yang dimiliki dan dapat diakses oleh pengguna. Pertumbuhan e-rosurces di era revolusi industri 4.0 begitu cepat dan terus berkembang sehingga muncul istilah big data.  Pengelolaan perpustakaan digital di era big data perlu menggunakan metode untuk mencapai transformasi dan inovasi dalam pelayanan kepada pengguna. Perpustakaan digital perlu memposisikan dirinya dalam menghadapi perilaku pengguna dalam mengakses sumber daya literatur digital, dan pemanfaatan scholarly big data diluar koleksi perpustakaan. Perpustakaan digital di era big data menjadi tantangan dan kompetensi baru bagi pustakawan. Pustakawan di tuntut untuk dapat  memahami karakteristik kebutuhan pemustaka serta mampu menganalisis data untuk keperluan riset, pengambilan keputusan, sumber belajar, serta meberikan sumber informasi yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat luas.   Based on the development of information technology, library management does not only come from print collections. The development of libraries today shows that electronic collections are the main resources in building libraries, especially digital libraries. Digital library has its own characteristics in the management system and user services. This means that digital libraries no longer rely on the large number of collections that are owned, still how much database access is owned and can be accessed by users. The growth of e-rosurces in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is so fast and growing that the term big data appears. Digital library management in the era of big data needs to use methods to achieve transformation and innovation in service to users. Digital libraries need to position themselves in dealing with user behavior in accessing digital literature resources, and the use of scholarly big data outside of library collections. Digital libraries in the era of big data become new challenges and competencies for librarians. Librarians are required to be able to understand the characteristics of the needs of users and be able to analyze data for research, decision making, learning resources, and to provide sources of information that are beneficial to the wider community.

There is analysed the activities of digital libraries partnership Hathi Trust Digital Library (HTDL), arose in October 2008 in the United States as a collaborative repository of digital collections of library systems of 13 universities in the U.S. Middle West and digital collections of 11 universities in California (now numbering 124 libraries). In the United States — the leader of IT-technologies — has been accumulated the vast experience in the field of organization of electronic resources, carried out a large-scale reorganization of library industry, the results of which are not sufficiently covered in the domestic library science. For the first time, the Russian library community is invited to learn the specific experience of the formation and operation of the partnership of digital libraries HTDL, based on the principle of institutional cooperation and coordination of management solutions in the conservation and maintenance of electronic collections.The main tasks of the distributed data warehouse belonging to the partnership group of large research libraries are: providing access to the digital collection first of all for collective users, libraries — co-founders; preservation of intellectual heritage through reliable and accessible electronic representation, improvement of open technological infrastructure. The HTML concept is based on the conscious preservation of the specificity of research libraries, when the user is offered a body of special catalogued literature, and the ranking of search results is not influenced by the commercial interests. It is noted that HTDL is built on the basis of an extensive network of interlibrary entities in the United States with extensive cooperation in the field of administration, cataloguing, and storage of printed materials.There are considered the priority achievements of Hathi Trust Digital Library: development of the new models of interlibrary cooperation, efficient distributed management structure, transparent scheme of payment calculation of infrastructure maintenance. The dynamics of the development of this resource from the moment of formation to the present time is analysed.
