The concept of organisational socialisation has been widely tested in the international context as well as in local context with the view that it is a process where novel candidates are familiarised to the current organisational setting. Hence, it is viewed as an orienting programme. However, it is worthwhile to examine whether the process of organisational socialisation is a mere employee orienting programme or whether there is more to it than this. This viewpoint is assessed below through a comprehensive literature review.

ABSTRACT Lateral swivel dislocation, a subtype pattern of dislocations occurring at mid tarsal joint is a rare type of injury. A medially or laterally directed force applied to the forefoot causes dislocation of the talonavicular joint but not subtalar joint. The calcaneum alongwith the remaining foot swivels on the intact interosseous talocalcaneal ligament. The present case report is a more rare lateral swivel type of dislocation of talonavicular joint in a 25-year-old male. A home advantage in sport competitions has been well documented. The strength and consistency of the home advantage has made it a popular phenomenon in sport today. Very little systematic research has been carried out, however, and the home advantage remains one of the least understood phenomena in sport. It appears that much of the game location research has been arbitrary, and a clear sense of direction is lacking. The purpose of the present paper is to provide a conceptual framework to organize a comprehensive review of previous game location research and provide direction for future research. The review of literature indicated that the descriptive phase of inquiry has been completed, and it is time to address the underlying mechanisms responsible for the manifestation of the home advantage. Possible methodologies and areas of inquiry are highlighted and discussed.

Onwuegbuzie and Frels (2015) provide the framework for evaluating current research and present seven steps for developing a Comprehensive Literature Review. Today a significant dilemma of research involves the sparse number of rigorous, empirical research studies to guide development of best practices of writing. The authors describe the purpose of their book as “a tool and guide for master’s-level students, doctoral-level students, and new and experienced researchers” to approach writing a CLR in a through and investigative way. The thrust and challenge is for researchers to concentrate on improving their methods and practices when reviewing topics with strong potential for shaping long-term educational policies.

The current recruitment scenario, which is highly dynamic and challenging, calls for the attention of academics and practitioners alike. Recently, several studies were conducted to understand the possible relationship between employer branding and employee retention (Gilani & Cunningham, 2017; Wilden, Gudergan, & Lings, 2010). In the present study, an attempt has been made to explore the impact of employer branding on employee recruitment and retention. A comprehensive literature review of previous studies on this topic was conducted, in an attempt to understand the influence of employer branding on each aspect of recruitment. For this purpose, concepts from signalling theory, person-organisation fit and social identity were considered. Careful analysis of previous studies reveals that employer branding has an impact on an organisation's ability, not only to recruit, but also to retain, desired employees. Further, the organisations which are able to successfully project their images as potential employers of choice are bound to reap benefits in the long run.

This systematic literature review investigates the antecedents of frontline employees’ (FLEs) customer orientation (CO). In the literature various understandings of CO co-exist, which put an emphasis on different influencing factors and use different measurement approaches to study FLEs’ CO. The literature lacks a comprehensive literature review that structures and summarizes the fragmented empirical research on antecedents of FLEs’ CO. This study closes this gap by first, providing an extensive overview of the antecedents of FLEs’ CO, identifying and categorizing the factors that influence FLEs’ CO into four broad areas. Second, the study sheds light on the different understandings of CO and structures the fragmented literature. Based on the literature review, the study identifies avenues for future research in the field. Finally, the literature review gives guidance to managers by structuring starting points to enhance FLEs’ CO.

AbstractBackground:Tonsillectomy is one of the most common surgical procedures performed worldwide. There are a handful of common complications, with bleeding being the most feared; however, rarer complications can present to a wide range of medical professionals.Methods:A 12-year-old girl presented with cervicofacial emphysema following tonsillectomy. This paper discusses the case and the management adopted, and presents the findings of a comprehensive literature review.Results:The patient made a full recovery, and was discharged after 3 days following conservative management with intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics and supplemental low-flow oxygen.Conclusion:This paper presents the first reported case of cervicofacial emphysema following Harmonic scalpel tonsillectomy. Although this is an exceptionally rare complication, it is potentially serious and warrants further description to improve awareness.

The importance of the review of literature, a component of any research study, has been relatively downgraded by occupational therapists because it is time-consuming. In order to encourage novice researchers and illustrate the importance of a comprehensive review of related literature, a review was carried out in the area of auditory feedback and the teaching of the use of myo-electrically controlled prostheses. This illustration of method in research includes initial ideas, assumptions and facts, the researchable question, the literature review and the conclusions drawn from the review which help guide the researcher in his potential study.
