The Arab castes’ life in pre-Islamic era is totally depended in oral quarrels whether on poet or on addresser. The status of an addresser was not less than a poet. That is, why they celebrated a festival for the birth of a new addresser amongst them. Thus he was honored with title of “echo of the cast”. But the question is that: “What kind of addresses they delivered?” is to be analytically answered. To introduce for an Urdu literary in a comparative study of literatures, this articles discusses the structure of some selected addresses, the themes, its features and the relevancy to the event. It also describes the famous addressers of illiteracy era.

The aim of this descriptive analytical study was to examine research articles discussion sections from four disciplines to measure the functions and frequencies of hedges and boosters. To this end, scholarly research articles were randomly selected from leading and reputable journals in mechanical and industrial engineering as representatives of hard science disciplines and management and psychology as representatives of soft science disciplines. The size of the corpus in each discipline was around 17000 words. The data were analyzed in light of Hyland's (2005) model of interactional metadiscourse for hedges and boosters devices. Results of descriptive and inferential statistics showed that the use of hedges was significantly more in soft science disciples while boosters were overused in hard science disciplines, corresponding to the fact that by virtue of being less personal and more objective, hard sciences are represented through more frequent use of boosters than hedges to express facts. On the other hand, soft sciences are influenced by their subjectivity which results in higher frequencies of hedges. The findings of this study have implications for English for Academic/Specific purposes courses. Keywords: Discussion section, Research article, Metadiscourse, Booster, Hedge.

The aim of the research was to analyze the artistic decorations of the mosaic of the ancient Umayyad civilization in Palestine in the light of a comparative study between the most important umayyad palaces in Khirbet al-Minya in Tiberias and Khirbet al-Masrif in Jericho. There is no doubt that the archaeological site of Khirbet al-Monaina in Palestine has played a major role in the decoration of floors and walls, where we find it covering the dome above the top of the huge hall of the palace and take geometric and floral motifs, in addition to covering some of the floors of rooms filled with many mosaics of various shapes and use. On the other hand, there is a consensus among archaeologists and Islamic arts that the ruins of Khirbet al-Mafjar are unique architectural buildings in Palestine, which represent one of the important examples in the history of Islamic art in the Umayyad period, because of its possession of fine art decorations and various materials of plaster, in addition to mosaic floors and frescoes, as well as buildings rich in examples of patterns used by the Umayyads in architectural decoration. After the comparative analytical study of the Umayyad mosaic in Khirbet al-Mania in Tiberias and Khirbet al-Mafjar in Jericho, the research found out and discovered the similarities and differences between them.

Abstract Background The process of learning the professional values is started from the student’s entering to the university and to the workplace. This study compared the importance of professional values from the perspectives of nurses and nursing students. Methods This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 250 nurses and 100 nursing students. Data were collected using the Nursing Professional Values Scale-Revised. Results According to the findings, the mean scores of nurses (3.68 ± 0.16) and nursing students’ (3.86 ± 0.17) perspective toward professional values were at an important level. Furthermore, the students’ perspective toward the professional values’ importance was significantly more favorable than those of nurses. The highest mean scores of professional values in the two groups were related to the caring and justice domains. Both groups considered activism and professionalism as the least important domains among the others. Conclusions As the findings suggest, we need to pay more attention to values training, especially professionalism and activism, during undergraduate education for preparing the nurses to work in today’s complex healthcare context. It is necessary to conduct more comprehensive studies for exploring the gap between theory and practice in different cultures and contexts.

This paper presents a comparative analytical study of using water and R-134a as cooling medium in the condenser of a steam power plant (SPP). In this study, a shell-and-tube cross-flow heat exchanger has been considered. Because of its direct effect on cycle thermal efficiency, the condenser of the SPP has been continuously improved over the years. One of the ways of increasing the performance of a SPP is by reducing the condenser pressure and using low temperature cooling medium in the condenser. The lower the temperature of the cooling fluid circulating through the condenser tubes, the faster will be the steam condensation. This process increases the condensation rate as well as condenser heat transfer rate. Refrigerants have much lower temperatures and much higher heat transfer rates than water. In this comparative study of using R-134a or water as a cooling fluid in the condenser of a SPP, steam enters the shell side of a single-pass horizontal condenser and the condensate is collected at the bottom. Cooling fluid, “water or R-134a”, is fed into the tubes. The results of the analytical study indicated higher condensation rates and heat transfer for R-134a than water. Moreover, the exergetic and exergy efficiency analysis revealed that R-134a has higher values than water, which increase the power plant thermal efficiency and reduce the condenser size.

Background: Among all Arishta, Draksharishta is manufactured and sold on large amount by various pharmaceutical companies and widely prescribed by the physicians. Due to its effective properties and pleasant test resembling to that of Alcohol, Draksharishta is used by the patients in over dose for longer duration irrespective of the physician’s prescription. Hence, to estimate and compare the level of alcohol and to detect the absence/presence of Methanol content in self-prepared and market samples of Draksharishta, this study was undertaken by comparing the permissible limits of alcohol in all the samples so as to inhibit alcohol intoxication due to Draksharishta. Draksharishta was prepared by two methods. Methodology: In method 1, Dhataki (Woodfordia floribunda) flowers and in method 2, Yeast was used for inducing fermentation. Analytical study of two self prepared and five market samples of Draksharishta was conducted to estimate the level of alcohol, reducing sugar, non reducing sugar and to detect the absence/presence of Methanol content. The detected values of the parameters were compared among all the samples.  Results: The data reveal that there is difference in the physicochemical values of the Draksharishta samples. The alcohol content in samples M-E (2.8 %), S-A (3.40 %) and S-B (3.80 %) is low as compared to other sample of Draksharishta. Alcohol content in self prepared and market samples of Draksharishta is within permissible limits. Methanol is absent in all the sample of Draksharishta. Draksharishta prepared according to reference (S-A and S-B), satisfy the standard parameters of Arishta kalpana. Conclusion: Draksharishta sample S-A and S-B can be easily used in all age groups even in higher dose. As alcohol contents is less and methanol is absent in self-prepared samples, they are safe to use.
