School-age children who are growing up are vulnerable to the risk of COVID-19 disease transmission, therefore it is required to apply healthy living behaviors in the application of new habit adaptation, such as washing hands using water and soap, wearing masks, keeping a distance, doing sports, and eating nutritious diet. Parenting is expected to keep children’s healthy by giving the right habits. Children would obey in healthy behavior. The aims to determine the correlation between parenting and health behavior during the pandemic of school children at MI Nurul Huda Wadeng, Gresik. Cross-sectional approach correlational research design. Sampling using simple random sampling with 127 samples which are parents of children. Data collection used a parenting style questionnaire and a Likert scale for healthy behavior during the pandemic in google form. Data analysis used the Kendall-tau test. The results showed that there was a relationship between parenting and health behavior during the pandemic (p-value = 0.009; τ = 0.218). Parent who use authoritative parenting would make children have good behavior, and if parent use authoritarian parenting, child's health behavior will be lower. Applying authoritative parenting will be easier to take an optimal approach. Keywords: Parenting Styles, Children's Health Behaviors during Pandemi, Authoritative, Authoritarian, Permissive.

Kata kunci: video atraktif; cuci tangan; keterampilanATTRACTIVE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS IN IMPROVING HANDWASHING SKILLS ABSTRACT  Clean and Healthy Behavior is an effort to make people's cares about health. One of the Clean and Healthy Behavior efforts is Washing Hands with Soap. Practice of washing hands with soap needs to be applied from an early age to prevent environmental-based disease transmission. One of the groups that is suitable for successful delivery this is school children by giving handwashing counseling using attractive educational videos. This study used a Quasy Experiment design using a one group pretest-posttest. Data collect tool used the Handwashing Skills Checklist. The results of this study were most of the respondents with low skills in washing hands were 26 children (74.3%), while after being given treatment most of the respondents were 29 children (82.9%) who had good skills in washing hands. The value of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test difference test obtained p value (0.000) where the p value <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of attractive educational videos to improving handwashing skills in Madrasah Diniyah Awaliyah Belawang students Keywords : video attractive; hand washing; skills

In the course of a routine screening program for indigent school-age children carried out in an ambulatory hospital clinic, 40% of the mothers spontaneously recorded a concern about a child's health. Physicians were much more likely to record their awareness of the complaint if it related to a body system or function, as compared with complaints made about behavior and mental problems.

The present study investigated factors that influence smoking behavior among adolescents.Peer attachement, stress (increased workload, lack of academic performance and lower gradethat anticipated), parenting styles (authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive) werehypothesized influence adolescent involvement in smoking. A number of 249 students thatcame from SMP Darussalam Jagakarsa South Jakarta and actively smoking were recruitedusing non-probably sampling. Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Multiple RegressionAnalysis were carried out to evaluate validity of the scales and answer of the researchquiestions by using SPSS and LISREL 8.70 programs. The results found that peerattachment , stress, and parenting styles significantly influence smoking behavior amongadolescents (p < 0.05), (F=39.676, df=7) and R2=53.5%. However, analysis based on eachdimension only four dimensions significantly influence smoking behavior, namely peerattachment , lack of academic performance, increased workload, and authoritative parenting(p-value < 0.05). This study suggested to conduct more extensive research to investigate theinfluence of stress especially getting lower grade that anticipated; and authoritarian andpermissive parenting styles on smoking behavior among adolescents. Moreover, the studysuggested to develop scale that suitable with indonesian culture, as well as to recruit morefemale adolescent smokers.

Abstract Background: Lifestyle diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. The gradual increase of negative behavior in humans because of physical inactivity, unhealthy habit, and improper nutrition expedites the growth of lifestyle diseases. Proper lifestyle management in the obesity context may help to reach personal weight goal or maintain a normal weight range with optimization of health behaviors (physical activity, diet, and habits). Objective: In this study, we develop a mathematical model to analyze the impact of regular physical activity, a proper diet, and healthy habits on weight change, targeting obesity as a study case. Followed by, we design an algorithm to verify our proposed model with simulated data and compare it with related proven models based on the defined constrains. Methods: We proposed a weight-change mathematical model as a function of activity, habit, and nutrition with the first law of thermodynamics, basal metabolic rate ( BMR ), total daily energy expenditure ( TDEE ), and body-mass-index ( BMI ) to establish a relationship between health behavior and weight change. Followed by, we verify the model with simulated data and compared it with related established models. In this study, we have used revised Harris-Benedict equations (HB) for BMR and TDEE calculation. Results: The proposed mathematical model showed a strong relationship between health behavior and weight change. We verified the mathematical model with a proposed algorithm using simulated data with defined constraints. The adoption of BMR and TDEE calculation following revised Harris-Benedict equations has beaten the classical Wishnofsky’s rule (3500 cal. ≈ 1 lb.) , and the models proposed by Toumasis et al., Azzeh et. Al., and Mickens et. al. with a standard deviation of ±1.829, ±2.006, ±1.85, and ±1.80, respectively. Conclusions: This study helped us to understand the impact of healthy behavior on weight change with mathematical implications and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. As a future research scope, we wish to use this model in a health eCoach system to generate personalized lifestyle recommendations to optimize health behaviors to accomplish personal weight goals.
