AbstractThis study estimated the genotype × environment interactions for ten yield associated traits in advanced generation hybrids of several cultivars of common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with Aegilops kotschyi Boiss. and A. variabilis Eig. using the additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) models. Tests were ran over five years at one location in replicated field trials. The AMMI model showed significant genotypic and environmental effects for all analysed traits. A majority of the hybrid lines were less stable in the analysed traits than their parental wheats. The older wheat cultivars, with lower environmental sensitivity, were the most stable. The best total genotype selection index, for all ten traits combined, was observed for the oldest cvs. Gama and Rusałka, and among the hybrid lines, for Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Smuga and Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Muza. The lines Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Smuga, Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Muza, Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Korweta, Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Begra///Smuga, and Ae. kotschyi/Rusałka//Begra///Turnia are recommended for inclusion in breeding programmes due to their greater stability and the good average values for the observed traits.

In childcare institutions (CCIs) in India, children with mild or moderate levels of disability are often placed with non-disabled children for care and protection. Generally, children with intellectual disability (ID), learning disability, hearing and speech impairment and multiple disabilities with ID are found to be living in these CCIs. In this best practice article, the challenges faced by these children with disabilities and the potential for inclusion within the CCI are discussed based on the field action project intervention of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, with selected government CCIs. The article suggests a multi-pronged intervention approach for the Children with disability (CWD) at the levels of the individual CWD, peer group, CCI and the juvenile justice (JJ) System, which are together recognised as the stakeholders of an ‘inclusive ecosystem’. The article arrives at the ‘Inclusive Ecosystem Model of Rehabilitation’ by drawing from the individual–environment interaction model of disability.

The impact between particles and material surface is a micro-scaled physical phenomenon found in various technological processes and in the study of the mechanical properties of materials. Design of materials with desired properties is a challenging issue for most industries. And especially in aviation one of the most important factors is mass. Recently with the innovations in 3D printing technologies, the importance of this phenomenon has increased. Numerical simulation of multi-particle systems is based on considering binary interactions; therefore, a simplified but as much accurate as possible particle interaction model is required for simulations. Particular cases of axisymmetric particle to substrate contact is modelled at select impact velocities and using different layer thicknesses. When modelling the particle impact at high contact velocity, a substrate thickness dependent change in the restitution coefficient was observed. This change happens is due to elastic waves and is important both to coating and 3D printing technologies when building layers of different properties materials.

In this study, we investigate a physical mechanism to improve the light absorption efficiency of graphene monolayer from the universal value of 2.3% to about 30% in the visible and near-infrared wavelength range. The physical mechanism is based on the diffraction coupling of surface plasmon polariton resonances in the periodic array of metal nanoparticles. Through the physical mechanism, the electric fields on the surface of graphene monolayer are considerably enhanced. Therefore, the light absorption efficiency of graphene monolayer is greatly improved. To further confirm the physical mechanism, we use an interaction model of double oscillators to explain the positions of the absorption peaks for different array periods. Furthermore, we discuss in detail the emerging conditions of the diffraction coupling of surface plasmon polariton resonances. The results will be beneficial for the design of graphene-based photoelectric devices.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to study enterprise innovation in the perspective of external supplier relationship. On this purpose, this paper examines the impact of supplier change on enterprise innovation with the moderating role of market competition.Design/methodology/approachUsing 2012–2020 empirical data of Chinese listed manufacturing enterprises, this paper investigates the relationship among supplier change, market competition and enterprise innovation through a two-way interaction model.FindingsThe results show that supplier change has a negative impact on enterprise innovation. And market competition intensifies the negative relationship between supplier change and enterprise innovation. Additional analyses indicate that the main effect and the moderating effect are more significant when the enterprise is non-state-owned or has lower ownership concentration.Originality/valueThis paper studies enterprise innovation from the perspective of external stakeholders. It focuses on supplier relationship in a dynamic variation view, instead of the traditional static ones. Moreover, this paper explores the contingency effect of market competition and gives practical implications for managers to adjust innovation strategy flexibly.

Objective: Based on the environment-individual interaction model and the "evaluation-coping" theory, the relationship between Resilience, Coping Style, Core Self-evaluation and psychological health of disadvantaged children was explored to provide some theoretical support for psychological health intervention research. Methods: Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescent (RSCA), core self-evaluation Scale (CSES), Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) were used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 618 middle school students in South Xinjiang. Results: First, GHQ-12 scores were negatively correlated with RSCA, CSES, and SCSQ scores (r=-0.57/r=-0.56/r=-0.49, P <0.001), and positively correlated with the level of psychological health; second, coping styles is a mediator between resilience and psychological health (mediator effect value is -0.04); third, core self-evaluation is a mediator between coping styles and psychological health, there is "resilience — coping styles — core self-evaluation — psychological health" path. Conclusion: Resilience can directly predict the psychological health of disadvantaged children, and indirectly predict psychological health level through chain mediation of coping styles — core self-evaluation.

Excessive vibration of temporary grandstand by the crowd has lateral rhythmic motions, which attracted increasing attention in the recent years. This paper focuses on experiments where a temporary grandstand occupied by 20 participants is oscillated by a shaking table with a series of random waves and the crowd-induced rhythmic swaying motions at lateral direction, respectively. The dynamic forces that were induced by participants who have swayed at 0.5–1.8 Hz are recorded by a tri-axial human biomechanics force plate. A new relationship between the annoyance rate and structural acceleration at logarithmic coordinate is investigated and proposed, and the swaying load model is given. Based on these experimental results, a simplified three-degree-of-freedom lumped dynamic model of the joint human–structure system is reinterpreted. Afterwards, combined with a feasible range of crowd/structural dynamic parameters, a series of interaction models are analyzed, the vibration dose value (VDV) of the structure is obtained and discussed, and the notable parameters for interaction model are predicted. The experimental results show that the lateral serviceability limit is 1.29 m/s1.75 and the upper boundary is 2.32 m/s1.75. The dynamic response of model indicated that the VDV of structure will be decreased with increasing the mass of static crowd and damping ratio of the dynamic crowd. The max response of the model is α ≤ 0.6, f2 = 1.8 Hz or α > 0.6, f2 = 1.5 Hz or f1 = 2.5–3.5 Hz. It may be used as a reference value in vibration safety and serviceability assessment of TDGs, to estimate realistically the vibration response on the occasions when the crowds are swaying.
