The purpose of this study was to determine the type of parenting that affects mathematics learning outcomes and to determine the criteria for mathematics learning outcomes for class XI students of  Public Vocational Secondary School 3 Mataram in the 2019/2020 school year. This type of research is ex post facto research with descriptive and quantitative statistical approaches. Determination of the sample is done by proportionate purposive sampling technique by taking representatives of each class to be sampled, after taking 20% of the population, a sample of 131 students is obtained. The type of parenting that is applied by parents is determined based on the highest score on the parenting questionnaire for each whole item statement for each parenting. Based on the results of data analysis using descriptive statistical techniques, there are 12 students with authoritarian parenting types, 44 students with permissive parenting types, and 75 students with authoritative parenting. Student mathematics learning outcomes for each parenting are mostly in the very low category. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the value of  t calculated for each parenting, obtained from authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative parenting respectively 0.83, -1.16, and 3.63, with a value of t_table is 2.02, 2.23, and 1.99. Thus, it can be seen that parenting patterns that affect the learning outcomes of students of class XI in SMK Negeri 3 Mataram are authoritative parenting, because the calculated value is greater than the value of t table, which is 3,63 > 1.99, with the influence of 15.32%.

This study is a cross-sectional study, conducted on mothers of children aged 6-9 years in Oelnaineno Village, Takari District, Kupang Regency. The number of samples was 40 mothers, the sampling procedure was carried out by simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews with questionnaires containing questions to measure knowledge and types of authoritative parenting in an effort to prevent dental caries in elementary school children. The results of the study were statistically analyzed using the Multi nominal Logistics Regression test with a significance value of p <0.05. There is a significant relationship between knowledge and the type of authoritarian parenting with a significance of 0.042. Mother's parenting is influenced by knowledge and will have an impact on children. Mothers who have good knowledge apply authoritative parenting styles and child caries rates are low compared to other types.

Research indicates that there is continuity in both maladaptive ( Chen & Kaplan, 2004 ) and positive parenting from one generation to the next. Within the topic of parenting, intergenerational transmission of specific parenting styles, specifically, the intergenerational transmission of authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative parenting styles has received limited attention in the research. In addition, few researchers have examined the impact of parenting styles applied to specific family members. As such, this study examined whether certain types of parenting styles may be passed down from parent to son. Through an online questionnaire, ( N = 28) men indicated, retrospectively, how they were parented and how they raise (or would raise) their children. The results of this study indicate a positive correlation between sons being parented in an authoritarian or permissive manner and subsequent engagement in the same parenting style.

Purpose: This study aimed to comprehensively explore the associations of socioeconomic status, parenting style, and grit with children's health behaviors. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of 1,040 parents and their children using data from the 2018 Korean Children's Panel Survey. Socioeconomic status was measured in terms of household income and subjective socioeconomic status. Parenting style and grit and were measured using 62 and 8 items, respectively. Health behaviors were measured by assessing healthy eating habits, physical activity, and sedentary behavior. Results: Higher household income (β=.07, p=.018) and high maternal levels of an authoritative parenting style (β=.20, p<.001) were associated with higher compliance with healthy eating habits among children. Higher grit was associated with a higher number of weekly physical activity days (β=.08, p=.028) and sedentary behavior for <2 hours (odds ratio [OR]=1.04, 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.01-1.07) in children. A maternal permissive parenting style was associated with sedentary behavior for >2 hours on weekdays (OR=0.43, 95% CI=0.27-0.69).Conclusion: We suggest that when planning interventions to improve children's health behavior, it is essential to adopt a multifaceted approach that avoids practicing a maternal permissive parenting style, promotes an authoritative parenting style, and incorporates strategies to increase children's grit.

Objective: Family is like a school where parents teach the lessons of humanity and morality, which are the foundation of human happiness, to their children. Moral development is an essential part of children’s understanding of moral rules and principles. The lack of moral development, along with anxiety, and depression exposes children to antisocial and suicidal behaviors. Moral development is associated with parenting styles and attachment. This study aims to investigate the relationship between parenting styles and moral development of preschool children mediated by children’s attachment. Materials & Methods: This descriptive correlational study was conducted on 128 children (64 girls and 64 boys) selected from 8 preschools in Tehran Province, Iran, in 2020 using a cluster sampling technique. The study data were collected using three questionnaires: Baumrind Parenting Styles Questionnaire (PSQ), the Kinship Center Attachment Questionnaire (KCAQ), and Lotfabadi Moral Development Questionnaire (MDQ). The first two tools were completed by mothers of children, while the MDQ was completed by children. The Kolmogorov-Simonov test, correlation test (Enter method), analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis in SPSS v. 21. Results: The regression analysis results showed that parenting styles had a significant relationship with moral development (R=0.74, Adjusted R2=0.54, P=0.000). Also, attachment had a significant association with moral development (R=0.71, Adjusted R2=0.49, P=0.000). With one unit change in permissive, authoritarian, and authoritative parenting styles, the moral development of preschool children can be predicted by 43.5%, 19%, and 37.6%, respectively. Moreover, with one unit change in positive adjustment/development, negative behavior, emotional reactivity, and distancing from caregiver support dimensions of attachment, the moral development of preschool children can be predicted by 33.6%, 38.4%, -26.4%, and -11.4%, respectively. Also, the results of the Sobel test showed that the attachment variable was the mediator of the relationship of parenting styles with moral development (z=2.29>1.96). Conclusion: The moral development of children is related to permissive, authoritarian, and authoritative parenting styles. Besides, children’s attachment can mediate the relationship between parenting styles and moral development. More planning and follow-up are needed to improve the moral development of preschool children. When parents are consistent in their parenting styles, they provide their children with assertive and trusting behaviors. They should listen to their children and promote dialogue with them. Their discipline should be accompanied by warmness, logic, and flexibility and give their children the freedom to some extent. This treatment can help children develop their social behavior.
